1  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: How to use ASICMiner Block Erupters with CGMiner on Windows 7 on: June 05, 2013, 06:23:45 PM
Oh cool, thanks for posting this. Maybe this will help out others who may be having troubles like I was having.

Got my package and was pleasantly surprised to find several miners with the red heatsinks mixed in with the others which have the black heatsinks. .
Now the miners are fashionably coordinated as they are busy hashing away. Woo Hoo.  Grin

I wound up using these parameters in a batch file for cgminer 3.1.1:

Quote
cgminer-nogpu.exe --icarus-options 115200:1:1 --icarus-timing 3.0=100 -S \\.\COM3 -S \\.\COM4 -S \\.\COM5 -S \\.\COM6 -S \\.\COM7 -S \\.\COM8 -S \\.\COM9 -S \\.\COM11 -S \\.\COM12 -S \\.\COM13

and it was finally able to recognize all 10 of these miners.
They're hashing along nicely around 334 Mh/s each.  Smiley

I'm using an Anker USB 3.0 port and I have no problems with COM3-9 but as soon as it gets to double digit COM ports is when I have problems.

...I can't get any to work starting at COM10.

Anybody got solution for this? btw, no USB hub. I got 16 USB slots on my pc.

Windows 8 is able to find 1 USB Erupter. Testing on my Windows XP laptop tomorrow.
I'm running Win 7 x64 with a USB hub and I'm having the same problem. As soon as it gets to COM10 and higher it gives an error about unable to find it.
Anybody else have this problem?

Switched to backup pool and it's running fine now. No ideas why it won't connect to Slush's stratum address. I'll try connecting again sometime later.

Still up for me connecting out of Los Angeles.
I'm on the eastern side of the US using cgminer 3.1.1 and it's not connecting here.  Sad

Oh boy, is this another thread where us newbies can post worthwhile fluff while killing time in newbie jail?
I'm debating whether or not I should sit this one out.   Grin

I refuse to post simply for the sake of filling the newbie board with fluff.

Oh wait...  Grin

how do you start a thread? even in the newbie section.  i want to start a thread asking someone to post something for me in the bitcoinsports.eu thread
On my screen, I look at either the bottom or the top of the page. To the right of all the page numbers there is a link for "new topic." Click that and you should be able to create a new topic.  Wink

Greetings and salutations to all the newbies here. We are all newbies at some point or another.
It is great to see so many new people joining this forum. It makes me glad that I decided to quit lurking and register an account.

Good luck to all and may all your mining adventures be prosperous.  Grin

I will agree with others in that the price seems a bit steep for this device. With that said, I think it would be interesting to try these little guys out. With hot weather rapidly approaching here, I wonder how much heat these little guys put off compared to GPUs?
