3  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Work in progess] Burnins Avalon Chip to mining board service on: July 02, 2013, 08:02:21 PM
Can I order Chips on https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=187663.0 and let them sent to you even I haven't paid you yet?

Yes you can, that's the best place to buy chips if you are going to send them to Burnin for assembly, lowest handling and shipping fees to Burnin of all group buys.

Orders for chips and assembly are independent, order chips now and pay for assembly in a few weeks when chips arrive.

And for those of us that don't speak German??

same groupbuy in english:

hi burnin,
also think this is the right way if i understood everything right.
so this would mean a minor hardware change in your PCB layout?
but wouldn't that eventually come in conflict with as you stated:
[...]
And as the Firmware is user-upgradeable more enhancements could be delivered later in deployment.

later on planned firmware upgrades that shall do the overclocking software based ?

I believe it can only be done with software when he applied the needed hardware for this before...
thats how i interpreted the whole thing, too.
just thinking of morons like myself, having a device in hands with a hardware possibility to change settings and later on the software embedded possibility...
if it is not a problem by solving this with like an if-switch (sorry for my basics...) ok...
I'm just interested in how much effort it would be implementing it in the software compared to the hardware solution - burnin, is it worth for you redesigning your so far made efforts on the board?
i mean, just for my sake at least, just don't do it because of the pressure of guys asking for the soonest point of time the whole project is finished...
11  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How old are you and what brought you into Bitcoin? on: May 31, 2013, 07:19:37 PM
Toward the end of March. I have thought about selling my pre-order on eBay, but that's not very interesting. Of course, by the time the device arrives it may be little more than an expensive doorstop!
ok, i guess that might take some time... i'm trying the other way by having stepped into a group buy for Avalon ASICS and hoping for soon delivery and assembly by some of the specialists in this forum...
by the time you receive your jalapeno, this might work for me too...
doubt it being just a brick in the door to stumble over - at least not yet this year...  Wink

I'm from the UK, over 30, and had read about Bitcoins here and there. Ordered a Butterfly Lab Jalapeno, but of course I don't have it yet. Started to get serious after the Cypriot banking crisis. Have been lurking around these boards for about 3 months now.

Oh, yes, mining Bitcoins seems a good excuse to buy cool hardware  Smiley

just being curious - when did you order yours?

ok, need to do this now - gotta head on to more interesting stuff...
for that sake i state that this entry is just rubbish for the sql database - thank you database for letting me generate more sophisticated subjects now...
15  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the point of 5 worthless posts? on: May 31, 2013, 05:45:26 PM
I think the value is to only have the serious posters actually getting access to the other forums.

seems like you just made yourself a serious poster with that entry  Wink fives are full ...
16  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How old are you and what brought you into Bitcoin? on: May 31, 2013, 05:41:19 PM
first thought i had to blog some crap to fill the "5s", but this one is a good one...
coming from germany,over 30
came to bitcoin some time during the crash in april - as i studied the whole crisis a bit, the whole theme got me, especially the whole technical system behind it... the excitement hasn't left me so far - the whole bitcoin subject is so widespread in the meantime and growing every day ...
lots of news in the moment pos and neg and much more still to come i think...
keeps getting more n more interesting...
17  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the point of 5 worthless posts? on: May 31, 2013, 05:05:31 PM
ok, so i came to this forum, checked some posts that really took my interest, registered, to stay notified and now i would have a real question concerning one of the entries ... what now... for me those 5 posts are kinda like worthless... forces me to produce junk or come up with needless questions that might already be answered elsewhere for getting the info...  Huh
so whatever i think 3 to go...  Cheesy
