1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AUTO-SWITCH] Profit-switch auto-exchange pool: CleverMining.com on: November 08, 2014, 07:59:28 PM

Thanks.

I just started to use this pool.

I am getting 100% reject rates at the moment?

Thoughts?  Do I have something setup incorrectly?  Followed the instructions.  Have about 2Th's aimed at this pool due to the payout stats, so I hope this is not a big issue with the pool but some thing on my end....

Thanks!

This is not a SHA256 pool, it uses a different algorithm (Scrypt). Your miner won't work here. Use Eligius, bitcoin.cz, or find a p2pool node near you.

3  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: What hash rate do you need to solo? on: November 06, 2014, 01:49:27 PM
Thanks!

Dumb question.  Where does one find the total Hashrate at?

What is the right question?

So just how many Th's do you need to be effective at doing your own pool?

1. Can you just plug into the USB connectors on the two boards and plug those into a computer (RasPi) running CGMiner (of some flavor), and have it work?  Or maybe a PC?

yes providing its cgminer with the CTA support.

2. I have blinky lights on the BBB. Does the BBB actually work, but need to be reflashed?

3. I have blinky lights on the two boards, one board has one light that doesn't light as it cycles through them.  Is that due to a bad chip?

4. I have NO CTA light at all.  Nothing lights up on the front panel.  Yet I have lights on the board?

dunno, the boards  have a chaser led pattern that should be on.  Red only is not good.  orange in series from one side to the other is good.  The CTA light on the front board is from a header on the board.  The board directly controls it and afaik it will only light up when its actually mining - meaning work is fetched and sent to it.  If there is a problem with the beaglebone then that would prevent it from working.

I would start at the first item, the beaglebone.  make sure that is working.  If you can get to the webpage you can ssh in and look for logs in /var/log and see what is going on.  Once you have ruled that out then check all the wires and make sure they are securely connected.

One board has all lights in chase.  The other board has all but one light in chase.

I am about to pull all the heat sinks and put new thermal paste on them...  Hopefully that will help as well.

One miner has half it's cores running.  The other has more but is hashing slower.  I think it's rebooting due to heat, so it never gets up to speed.  More later.

The only issue I am worried about at the moment is that one chaser light isn't lighting so it's either a bad light or a problem... :-)

PS Got a new flashed BBB off eBay and can now connect no problem.  Hashes up to 1.6Th at times... :-)  Still need to solve the top.

I would be curious if anyone has gotten a RasPi B+ to work as a replacement for the BBB?

Also.

I haven't read all of this so maybe my question is answered above.

Thanks in advance, I ordered a BBB off eBay that is flashed already with the latest know version from Cointerra, was taken out of a working unit, so they say.  But I don't understand why I don't get a CTA light up front?

I will check the USB hub that is inside the unit as well.

Thanks

A new question. :-)

Has anyone directly hooked up to the cointerra miners via USB?  The BeagleBone died and I figured I could just hook directly to the USB connectors on the miners.

My RasPi see's the connections, but I can't get them connected to minera?

Thoughts?

Thanks!

I am using a RasPi B+ with your image.  Put onto the SD by ApplePi-Baker.  Works great.

But when I go to change anything in settings I would click save, be taken to the mobile miner each and everytime.  The answer was to delete whatever is in the mail field for mobile miner and save again, then everything works great.

My only issue is that BFL's units seem to hash at a slower rate than they did when using with other software.  Using CGMiner. Anyone with thoughts?  Sorry to mix the two issues.

If you make a change, hit save and it takes you to the mobile miner settings, clear the E-Mail and go back up and hit save again.

Can I know how to reproduce this bug? I would like to fix it definitely, can you explain me a bit more? Thank you!

I'm using win7 64 bit.  If I add a pool, then hit save or save/restart it drops to the mobile miner settings.  Mine says blade, I have to clear that (make it blank) then save and everything works.

THANKS!

I would never have guessed that.  Seems a bug.  Hopefully will get fixed. :-)

Again many thanks.

This indeed did work.

But how do I get it to see the BFL miners that are on the USB connectors on the RasPI B+?

Edit: Solved this.  Needed to select run as Root in the miner.  Now it's fine.

Next question... :-)  I am seeing off of two BFL's one a single and one a double something that looks like half of the expected Hash Rate.  I was getting double when it was just connected to a PC that I had running, bitminter's java miner.  I noticed that the "Frequency" was unknown in the dashboard.  Is that a problem?  Do I need to set that to something?  Or is there something else not working?

:-)

Thanks

Ok just read the whole forum.  Yawn.  Smiley

I just installed Minera onto my RasPi B+.  Came up like a champ.  I can log in via the web browser, SSH to it etc...

The problem I have is that any change I make in the settings pages do not stick.  I log out, come back and its back to the default.

Plus I can not get any miners started.

I am sure I have done something wrong here, but any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I have moved on.

Sorry.  If I come back to this I will update what I am seeing.

(PS I hate having to wait 6 minutes between posts.  Kinda crazy and VERY bad use of my time.)
13  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BitMinter client (Win/Linux/Mac, NEW: BFL and Icarus FPGAs supported) on: July 14, 2013, 12:47:18 AM

sorry if i missed it, i really searched thru this thread.. im using bitminter with a part of my cluster, and because of logistic (hub port and psu) i would like to put 2 x6500 to run on a bitminter client.. does it support it?

Would love to know if you fully support x6500's also.  Ie; I can move away from mpbm...

I am trying to get mpbm working with a X6500 rev3 to connect to slush's pool.  I can't seem to do it.

Thoughts?
