1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v11.8 (Windows/Linux) on: June 16, 2018, 05:52:28 PM
Weird issue with 1 rig.
I have 6 rigs 8 cards each. everything has been fine for about 1 year.
now my rig 5 drops hash rate from stead 235MH/s down to like 100
EXACTLY after 24hrs, i mean as soon as it hits the 24hr marker bam hash rate drops to shit and only a system reboot brings it back to normal for 24hrs again.
system configuration applies to all 6 rigs
windows 10
claymore 11.8
4gb of ram

**
if the issue happened at random times after some random interval i would think its drivers or some other issue but i cant wrap my head around what could cause
the hash rate to drop and not get fixed unless system is rebooted after exactly 24hrs later.
any help would be greatly appreciated

If it happens exactly at the same time each day right after the rig starts mining then its most likely your power management settings.

Basically if there was a Win 10 forced update it might of reset some of your power management settings and after a certain while it turns off certain devices which can cause this.

Go to your power settings and make sure everything is on Always ON and 100% power.

The power management did not cross my mind , i will check that out right now but wow this issue is seriously driving me crazy lol. I love fine tuning my machines to work like clocks. the other 5 rigs haven't turned off, dropped hash rate or anything else in months(unless of course when i swap to another coin)

WEIRD ISSUE !!!
3 of my rigs that are at my shop keep randomly rebooting, once every hour or so.
I looked at the monitor and when it rebooted again i saw this command on the screen
" bash: line 1: 13321 Killed      ------------------ screen -x miner "
so for some reason my rigs are getting the restart command from simple os and its not me doing it, I have 2 other rigs on the same simpleos account but at different
location and nothing happens to them. I even tried taking a rig from my shop to my home and it worked non stop for over 2 days.
Can anyone shed some light on this for me ?

Wake On Lan
Does anyone know how we can execute a wake on lan to boot up a pc running simpleOS?
I have 5 rigs and all are set to boot if power is lost but one of my rigs refuses to reboot after a power loss
so i am stuck with trying another option and ran across wake on lan but all the instructions online point to
doing some extra steps inside the os. My rigs are on a remote site and i have a laptop running 24/7 in the same
local network so just wanted to see if i can use that laptop to wake up the rigs that refuse to start.

Hello SimpleMining Dev,
Question, I know recently you have advised people not to use SSH aka not to open ssh ports.
But honestly ssh is perfect for live viewing of multiple rigs so i have a question.
I went ahead and changed the root and miner passwords as to prevent an attacker changing my rigs from mining something else.
would this cause issues for simpleOS , say from updating or anything like that ?
To be frank your website version of viewing the rig is not even an option as its missing the ability to watch it live and to give it command line changes aka + - on dual mining and so on or even clicking S for stats.
so please let me know if changing the password is an issue for you (DEV) and if it would cause issues down the line in term of you pushing updates and so on.

No problem, you can change ssh password.
When you change to both account to something strong like 12+ characters then its ok.
It wont break anything.

The console view i have in plans - upgrading this feature to have much faster and more live status there.
For longer perspective i have also in plans giving possibility to use something like web integrated ssh console for each rig but i will need much more time to make this right and secure.

Hey got a request for you please, Can you kindly add ip whitelist or remember me on this computer or some sort of function so your website does not log me out so quickly. I have enabled 2 factor auth and you have the capcha so safety wise we are good but honestly its driving me crazy having to login from my own home computer 30 times a day . I mean if u can make it remember the computer for say 6hrs or 12hrs or something then that would be great. Also one more thing , i dont know if this is possible and how easy or hard it would be but if you can implement some kind of a screengrab right before a miner reboots due to crash that would be amazing, I mean my rigs sometimes i guess reload or reboot and i am not always sitting in front of ssh to catch the issue , and all i see is simplemining.net saying xzy rig restart 2 times.
anyway thank u in advance

Hey guys i want to try solo mining and was wondering if anyone can guide me real quick.
do i just connect to any one of the p2p address + port like i would on a pool ?

which miner will you use for that??

claymore 11.2 XMR

If you ran the wallet you can look for 31002 port using the netstat command. You can use it with <wallet-machine-ip>:31002 in your miner's address string.

Hi so i tried to use ccminer but it wont connect. here is what i typed in the bat file.

"ccminer-x64.exe  -a cryptonight -o http://155.254.33.76:31006 -u TFLBmywalletaddress -p x -i 17 "

i tried it with just tcp and miner just crashes.
tried it with statum+tcp://******** and it wont connect again.

I am not trying to solo mine from local host. i thought i can mine p2p and connect to Freelabit node or something.
please dont laugh lol ,, this is my 1st time attempting this so i might say stuff that makes zero sense.
Also i am not doing it from local host since i have a few gpu's setup on simpleOS at an offsite and would want to point them to do solo mining i guess.
can u tell me how or if its even possible to do p2p mining not really solo i know but not pool.
thank u

I gave it a try A month ago but was not able to mine a single block as the difficulty for this coin went high.
Also stratum+tcp and http won't work, you have to use daemon+tcp. It was a ccminer fork which provided this option.
And the last commit for it was very old dated. I cannot recall the name of the repository this time. Hope you can find it on github.

thanks for getting back to me. I searched for few hours and after not finding enough info i just started mining to a pool lol.

OK i dont get it , i asked a simple question about the health of this project and my post was removed ?
so why would a moderator do that ?
should i now get worried and stop mining this coin ?
friend of mine told me the coin project might be abandoned so i asked a simple question, that did not need
to be removed, its like turning off free speech.

Rig keeps disappearing from my riglist on SMOS but is actually mining when I go and look at it.

Sometimes it'll reboot and wind up mining an algo that I've never mined(neoscrypt)

Thoughts?

you might be getting hacked.
make sure you dont have mport open ,
example for claymore "  -mport -3333 "  as long as u have a dash in front of the port number your ok , but if remove the dash then claymore can receive commands from external source.
but it could totally something else, just wanted to help.

That was my first thought. Fairly new to GPU rigs, can I check mport by SSH in or do I need to do it on the actual rig?

If your using simpleOS then it will be in the rig groups where u added the miner information, like when u selected the miner say claymore and inputted the pool address.
if u need more help on where the port information is then look up the miner your using and find guides for that.

so does anyone know how to check any log on smos to see what caused a previous reboot?
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Easy to use GPU MINING Operating System on: January 18, 2018, 07:59:17 AM
Ok i really need help here guys, please!
One of my rigs was operating smoothly for weeks but now it seems to reboot at least 3 to 6 times a day and its at a remote location. (so sitting in front of it and waiting for it to crash and hope to catch the fault isnt a option)
I know claymore on windows has a log file but i have spend the better part of my day going through every folder in root and user directory
in simple os but cannot find where the log file might be.
I just simply want to find out what caused the reboot (maybe overclock issue? maybe random overheat issue? maybe non of that and something totally different?)
anyway if anyone can help me figure out how to diagnose my reboots remotely i would greatly appreciate it. (i know how to ssh into root but i am a complete nub when it comes to linux)
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's CryptoNote AMD GPU Miner v11.2 on: January 14, 2018, 06:47:48 AM
I need help please (complete nub)
I am trying to mine dsr coin on altminer.net and it gives their statum server as " -o stratum+tcp://eu1.altminer.net:<PORT> -u <WALLET_ADDRESS> [-p <OPTIONS>] "
when i input my info and run the miner i get -o not recognized. i changed the -o to -xpool but then once it connects i get error  " cannot find block data: cannot convert blob data "
I have noticed many pools say to enter " -o " before the server name and it never works with claymore but its listed under Claymore GPU Miner " Example: NsGpuCNMiner -o stratum+tcp://pool.dero.live:3333 -u YOUR_WALLET_ADDRESS -p x "

can someone please tell me what am i doing wrong?
can i not mine on these pools with claymore cryptonote ?
