1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Recovering wallet.dat from 2011 on: January 21, 2021, 09:30:01 PM
Hello Everyone,

After 10 years I was able to recover a wallet.dat from a HD that has been partially erased and the board then caught fire. I now have a wallet.dat file that I believe is my original but I am trying to find a way to load it, find the address, anything to see if this is the correct wallet.

When I create a new wallet in Bitcoin Core, replace the new wallet.dat with my recovered one I get an error that it is an invalid format.

When I tried using pywallet I am receiving ":Couldn't open wallet.dat/main. Try quitting Bitcoin and running this again." Any help to get me closer would be very much appreciated.

Below is an image of what opening the wallet.dat looks like in a hex editor

4  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Converting Hash160 list to Address on: September 10, 2016, 08:24:03 PM
I'm just playing around with the blockchain this weekend but I have a list of Hash160's I need to convert to actual addresses. Is there any tool or way of doing this? I found a site online that does it but after about 100 it starts to give an error.

Thanks!

actually it is not like any of those sites at all.

I pretty much just need the system made, I can manage front end design pretty easily.  I am good experience with sites and bitcoin although I am not skilled enough to set up this site.
Also I know exactly how I want the site to behave and a good idea for how I want it to look.
So you want someone to develop a system that we have no idea what we are developing; yet, you would be developing it once it's developed?

Like I stated, I need a system for a based on taks completed on site, bitcoins would be rewarded for each action.  I already have a script for the same system I need but it is not implemented with bitcoins and needs lots of tweaking, but it is a start.

Something like this?

http://btcworker.com/

OR this...

https://workforbitcoin.com/

Or even this...

http://www.forbitcoin.com/

oh and there is this....

http://www.bitcoinjobs.com/

Note: I'd suggest you'd come up with a better idea.

But if that is really what you want to then you need to talk some details...

How much are you offering to make the system?

How much knowledge do you have of similar technologies (web sites / bitcoin api etc ) (just to gauge how difficult of a customer you would be)

Do you have a solid idea of how you think your site should look and behave?
If not I suggest you start diagramming how the site would work. (Do users have profiles, feedback etc... )

If you are serious about getting this made I am currently looking for work and I have a strong itch to code something bitcoin related but haven't had any ideas of my own yet.

The site is people complete tasks in exchange for bitcoins with the option to withdraw them, the site doesn't have to be a web 2.0 just needs to look clean/professional/simple.  if you are interested feel free to PM post here Smiley
10  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Should we buy bitcoin.com ? on: May 23, 2011, 10:52:13 PM
Rofl if it happens will this be the first second-hand buy of a bitcoin domain in its history? Anyone flipped one of their regs yet?

Actually, I bought coinbalance.com for $7 not long ago because it seemed bitcoin-related, but just sold it yesterday for $250 to someone who doesn't seem to be part of bitcoin community at all... he'll be using it for a completely unrelated site.

Where did you sell it for that much at?
11  Bitcoin / Project Development / Scritp to auto send bitcoins to person on: May 23, 2011, 10:50:50 PM
Hello, I am creating a site along the lines of bitcoin faucet but a little different.  I am wondering if there is a open source script or how I can go about of making it so that when someone clicks "submit" or "withraw" it automatically sends them lets say 1BTC.

Thanks for any help  Cheesy

I would stop using mtgox if they started implementing this.

How do confirmations work?
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Says recieved under description, but not added to balance. on: May 22, 2011, 10:56:11 PM
I re installed windows and installed Bitcoin but replacing the wallet.dat with my original one.  I tried sending myself .05 bitcoins from mtgox and it didn't take long before it showed up on Bitcoin but it is grayed out and says received when it isn't.

18  Other / Obsolete (selling) / Re: WTB Bitcoins via paypal on: May 12, 2011, 08:55:27 PM
Because you are completely unknown and PayPal has a very high fraud rate.

If you're serious about buying bitcoins, I suggest you fund an account at mtgox.com and then put in an order.

Are you able to fund a account via paypal on mtgox.com?  I am paypal verified and I can understand people worried about fraud.
