1  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Bitminter bitcoin mining pool - Pays TxFees, Merged Mining, Fair PPLNS rewards on: December 05, 2017, 03:22:21 PM
No, we don't have solo mining.

12.5 BTC is not half a block, it's 100% of the new coins in the block currently. In addition to this there is also income from transaction fees.

Yes, it used to be 25 new coins per block, and 50 before that. This is halved approximately every 4 years. Watch the countdown on bitcoinclock.com

It would be possible to have a pool where you paid over 50% in mining fees and you got half the income from the block when you found one. But I don't think there's a market for it.

You can instead put 50% of your hashpower on Bitminter and use the other 50% for solo mining.

Awesome. Thanks you very much for the input!

With BitMinter, if my rig discovers a new block, do I receive half of it like Slushpool, or just a proportion of my work for the discovery? TIA!
That doesn't happen on slushpool either.

Hmmm, I was thinking that one did that - it's been a couple years since I mined a lot. For some reason, I was thinking you got 12.5 BTC if you discovered a block.

Thats solo mining, not regular pool mining. So you either mine on your own, against your own bitcoind or there are a couple of solo pools that have setup all the infrastructure for you to mine against, they may charge a small fee but you get nearly all of the 12.5BTC if you find the block.

They are promoted in this very forum.

Awesome. Thanks you very much for the input!

Solved: Like a dummy, I was using the scrypt port and not the sha256 port.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Antminer USB Miner Showing Speed, but Errors? on: December 13, 2015, 10:09:34 PM
I hadn't been mining in a while, but broke out an Antminer U2 USB miner this weekend. I have a different machine and got cgminer set back up on it. I wrote my StartMining.bat file. I launched it and it logged into my account at Multipool.us. It's showing activity and the green LED on the board is flashing it's head off. All seems to be working. However, my account show no logged in workers and no stats. My script is a simple one: cgminer -scrypt -o stratum+tcp://us-east.multipool.us:7777 -u Twitchie.1 -p x. I've added a screenshot of the console screen to dropbox here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/bwzaizsmba04w4b/Mining%20Resets.PNG?dl=0 I get the same results whether I use the batch file or enter the info directly into the console at startup. Any insights would be appreciated. Thanks!
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / DualMiner Problems/Mystery on: September 13, 2014, 09:08:48 PM
Greetings. I received 2 DualMiner USB ASICS. I installed them and was mining LTC for a week or so with DualMiner GUI V1.0.1.9-0. They got disconnected one night and I haven't been able to get them going again. When I plug in my USB strip or directly into a USB port, their green LEDs flash a few times. I use Zadig to change the 4 Dual RS232-HS list items to the WinUSB (v6.1.7600.16385) driver. In my device manager, all 4 are listed along with the SHA-256 ASIC I am running for BTC. In the DualMiner app, I checked Scan COMS available. In the device dropdown, it says All COMs, but non are listed. When I click start, it tries to connect with CGMiner, but repeatedly times out. Any ideas? TIA!

Thankfully they only got me for just under 1 BTC. I sure wished they lived closer to me...
