I understand the want for escrow.. these forums are shameless indeed.

tell me about it Sad still waiting on tomatocage. i felt stupid for trusting someone a few days ago and sending first, it only caused me a ton of problems, but your rep on here looks good and your account has been around a while. i'll just wait a few more minutes to see if tomato cage answers

3 people posted reports that he stole.

Not sure what he could possibly say that would convince you to send first without escrow.

Are you in Alaska?  I've got some ice for sale....got a few hours?

Anyways, sorry you got scammed, but thus one was your own fault.  Hopefully we don't see a thread pop up asking for donations now.

not gonna ask for donations. not too bummed as it was a gift to me so it's not a real "loss." i know it was my own fault, i tried to work out an escrow with him for over an hour and in the end it didn't turn out for me. live and learn
8  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [Selling] $200 Amazon Giftcard for BTC on: December 24, 2013, 07:29:20 PM
just PM'd buyer all the info necessary, including claim code and my bitcoin address

You just donated 200.00 to him.

i know and now he is offline great

Why didn't you read his trust, especially when its bright red?

i did read his trust but i had been talking to him for like 2 hours and he had "been scammed" before today according to his earlier posts so it seemed fine. my stupid mistake

I am buying this amazoncard.

Seller accepts to send first, I will send 0.3 BTC to him right after.

this is just for some sort of public record of the deal;
i will PM the buyer the code and my bitcoin address. once the code is redeemed he will send me 0.3 bitcoins.
PMing the buyer now

Hey all,
I have a $200 Amazon Giftcard that I'd ultimately like to trade for BTC. In the past I've always done my trades on bitmit.net, but they are closed now; but I am extremely reliable. I typically sell amazon giftcards to get coin, as I have in all my other threads. Anyway, I'd really like to get this sold today; ASAP!
If anyone is interested, please shoot me a PM or reply on here. I will be online all day.
Thank you all

Bump; really want to get this sold ASAP

Amazon can be charged back...

I'm aware, and I know that's a pretty popular scam; I pay for mine with cash however. I don't have a bank account, so it's kind of harder for me to obtain bitcoin, so I simply pay for giftcards with cash at stores then exchange them with someone on bitmit for a little bit of coin. If it helps, I'm building up a really nice rep on that bitmit account (as you can see) and I've also traded with members of this forum before who I'm sure wouldn't mind vouching for me. Thanks for the view, though!

17  Economy / Currency exchange / SOLD: $40 Amazon Gift Certificate on: September 05, 2013, 02:08:38 PM
Hey everyone, I know it's small but I have a $40 amazon giftcard I'd like to sell for a little bit of coin. I typically use bitmit for escrow, the listing is here:

https://www.bitmit.net/en/item/57965-40-amazon-gift-certificate

If you see my profile on there, I have all positive feedback from 18 transactions, all giftcards. I don't have a bank account so this is how I regular bills into coin. I have it there for a few dollars off right now as I don't want to take too much of a loss, although I do know that giftcards do not usually sell at full price.
Thanks to everyone for the interest! Please feel free to shoot me a PM for anything!

SOLD
18  Economy / Currency exchange / [SELLING] $85 Amazon Giftcard on: August 15, 2013, 07:17:17 PM
Bitmit escrow as always! Link here;
https://www.bitmit.net/en/item/51550-85-amazon-gift-certificate

I have it as a few dollars off because I know they go for below face value. Very positive feedback on my page there; if interested, shoot me a PM either on here or on Bitmit if you'd like to negotiate.
Thank you all Smiley

No problem; sold independently in a pending transaction currently on Bitcoin-OTC; hopefully all goes well. Thank you for your response!
20  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [WTS] $465 Amazon Gift Certificate for Bitcoin on: August 13, 2013, 09:15:22 PM
No one? Sad
Would anyone be interested in the $465 for 80% value, paying $372 in coin?

<raises a hand>
Fear not, I've added your item to my cart on bitmit and have checked-out.

PM replied on the bitmit site Smiley Thanks very much!
