Technically imo right answer to your q is when people would buy more of some altcoin(s) rather than sell it(them).
But how to define the overall volume of buy & sell for some altcoin? Analyzing of the blockchain probably it's possible to find out all addresses for most exchanges, and then calculate all buy/sell transactions. Has anybody tried such analysis?
