What wallet did you use? I managed to get some BTG into Coinomi wallet but can not send it to the address that HitBTC provides.

i used the full node client

Can you import private keys into that client?
How do you know it is safe?
I presume it takes whole 160 something GB to download the chain?

yes you can import keys like in any other Full Node Crypto-Client.
for safety reasons is it always recommended to move your bitcoins to a new encrypted wallet and import keys that should only have some btg on it.
yes you need the whole blockchain.
here i wrote a little tutorial for the official btg-client https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2412870.0

Does somebody were able to obtain some BTG using the private secrets? Please share your encounter. I do not believe that BTG is a good investment so I wish to have it then sell ASAP.

i got my btg from importing private keys to the BTG-client. see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2412870.0

How do you know your BTG is stolen? Did you check from another source?

Yes, downloaded the official btg wallet did a full sync, imported my private keys and i saw there is zero BTG balance.

Btw, there are more threads discussing this shit, link to one of them: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2393967.20

Edit: If you don't believe me you can check web archives (another proof): https://web.archive.org/web/20171113035025/https://bitcoingold.org/downloads/#

The offending site also had a valid certificate, that can't be a coincidence.

i belive you, but i can only repeat myself.
the btg-developer and btg as a whole cant control 3rdParty sites, wallets or pools.
its not so difficult to get a valid certificate. you not even have to pay for a valid certificate
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gold (BTG) on: November 16, 2017, 04:37:35 PM
All my BTG got stolen last night. I visited mybtgwallet site through the OFFICIAL link posted on OFFICIAL bitcoin gold website and ofcourse used my private keys on that site because i believed it was a trustworthy - turns out it was a scam. Ofcourse link disappeared last night from bitcoin gold website without any notification. Good thing i sent all btc to another wallet before entering private keys otherwise i would lose them too.

Either it's crazy irresponsible shit from BTG devs or this was planned by the devs themselves.

All the stolen funds were sent to this wallet:
GWwkUS9VZXcq9Bx5MXUo7KYCojhr5xWZxC

Proof:
BTG site two days ago: https://imgur.com/5PnwxPK
BTG site now: https://imgur.com/lKpvLvV

Why you put your private keys into an online website? the btg-developers cant control every 3rdParty-Platform. even if its opensource, nobody knows what they finaly host Wink
the only save wallet for now is to sync your own BTG-Node and import your private keys there.

Hi all ppl,

BTG
Which wallet?
Which pool?
Which exchange?

Does it make sense to go there with 16x1060 6G + 5 x rx480?

Thank you a lot =)...

i would recommend for now to only use the original wallet from https://bitcoingold.org/downloads/ .
for pools i did not have any recommendation. there are a lot of pools listed on the website of BTG.
the only exchange i tried right now is hitbtc (https://hitbtc.com/), where it was no problem to deposit and withdraw btg

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there an exchange that takes Bitcon Gold deposits? on: November 16, 2017, 02:06:51 PM
?

Bitfinex, Yobit do not although they trade it.

Thanks.

I only tried HitBTC. There was no Problem to Deposit and Withdraw BTG.

15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Get your Bitcoin Gold (BTG): Full Node Tutorial (Linux) on: November 16, 2017, 11:09:15 AM
Hey People,

I did not find any nice Tutorial how to run a Full BTG Node, so i decided to write my own Wink

Download and extract the Client
You can Download the Full Client of BTG from https://bitcoingold.org/downloads/.
The Link to the Linux Version is currently https://github.com/BTCGPU/BTCGPU/releases/download/0.15.0.1/bitcoingold-0.15.0-x86_64-pc-linux-gnu.zip
Code:
mkdir $HOME/bitcoingold
cd $HOME/bitcoingold
wget https://github.com/BTCGPU/BTCGPU/releases/download/0.15.0.1/bitcoingold-0.15.0-x86_64-pc-linux-gnu.zip
unzip bitcoingold-0.15.0-x86_64-pc-linux-gnu.zip

Start Client and sync to Block 491407 (from Bitcoin-Blockchain)
On First start of the Client you get asked where the Data should be stored (Blockchain, wallet ...). Default is $HOME/.bitcoingold. You need at least 180GB of free space Tongue.
Until Block 491407 is in sync you need the "-bootstrap" Option, so the client connects to normal bitcoin-nodes on Port 8333. The sync to Block 491407 take about 5 hours.
You can speed it up if you run a Full Bitcoin-Node and use the "-connect=ipofnode:portofnode" Option or download as torrent

There's a torrent that should speed things up, doubt it will take 5 hours to sync, more like 5 days, the seed nodes are overloaded
Code:
magnet:?xt=urn:btih:47BFB9826B588354917CB6BDC0CAF00D47A1D4D4
And for the love of GOD, DO NOT ENTER YOUR SEED PHRASE ON A FUCKING WEBSITE NO MATTER WHAT IT CLAIMS.

Code:
cd $HOME/bitcoingold/bitcoingold-0.15.0-x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/bin
./bitcoin-qt -bootstrap &
When Block 491407 is reached you should close the client and wait until the shutdown-warning disapears.

Sync the rest of the new BTG-Blockchain
Now you should remove the files "peers.dat" and "banlist.dat", because they have only stored informations from bitcoin-nodes.
Code:
rm $HOME/.bitcoingold/peers.dat $HOME/.bitcoingold/banlist.dat
cd $HOME/bitcoingold/bitcoingold-0.15.0-x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/bin
./bitcoin-qt
Wait until all is in sync.

Dump Bitcoin private keys
On an BitcoinClient where you had some Bitcoins before the Fork (October 24, 6 am UTC), dump your wallet.
You can Dump your wallet from the Client if you go to the Help => Debug - Menu and open the console and type
Code:
dumpwallet /path/to/wallet.txt
If you have an encrypted wallet (highly recommended) you need to unlock your wallet first with
Code:
walletpassphrase "mysupersecretpassword" 60
For safety reasons it is highly recommended that you move your Bitcoins to a new encrypted Wallet, before you import the private keys to the BTG-Wallet.

Import private Keys to BTG-Client
On the BTG-Client you should also get into console (Help => Debug - Menu) and import all keys with an label and all change keys.
If you import an key, normaly an rescan is initiated (needs about 40 minutes). To prevent this you should add " '' false" after every import-command.
Only on the last import set the value to true.
Code:
importprivatekey "myprivatekeywithlabelorchangefromdump" '' false
importprivatekey "myprivatekeywithlabelorchangefromdump" '' false
importprivatekey "myprivatekeywithlabelorchangefromdump" '' true
If you have an encrypted wallet (highly recommended) you need to unlock your wallet first with
Code:
walletpassphrase "mysupersecretpassword" 60

If you want to Support the BTG-Network please open the Port 8338 on your Router and Firewall, so People can Download the Blockchain a bit quicker Wink.

I hope this Tutorial will help some interested People. If you have any Questions, please ask.
