The user was rolling over 42.42 so it's more like 1/20,833.

The user also made over 27,000 rolls before hitting this streak. http://pd3.co/u/fabry1999. So statistically it's not rare what so ever.

Still an unlucky run. Feel free to verify the rolls

You're right... 1-in-20,833 is equivalent to the 0.0048% chance above.

If you assume that a similar run never happened in his other 27,000 rolls, then yes, it's reasonable that a 1-in-20833 event would happen roughly once in 27,000 rolls. Not actually accusing anyone of a conspiracy, hence the wink face above.  :-D

BTW, on a separate note, is there a way to change your deposit wallet on PrimeDice??

The odds of rolling 18 times under 42.43 should be equal to rolling over.

The exact odds of rolling under 42.43 eighteen times in a row = (42.43/100)^18, which in percentage terms is approximately 0.00002%

The exact odds of rolling over 42.43 eighteen times in a row = (57.57/100)^18 = approximately 0.0048%

They're obviously not the same because the "under 42.43 range" (0.00 to 42.42) is smaller than the "over 42.43 range" (42.44 - 99.99).

Still, these rolls were unbelievably rare. Like I wrote above, 0.00002% which is 1-in-5,000,000 odds. Normal stats, or conspiracy?  ;-)

Hmmm... was just doing some Googling, that info might be outdated (it's from late 2012). The phone number has a Connecticut area code too...??!

I believe this is their current info (from May 2013):

http://www.secinfo.com/d1G3x8.xe.htm

1 BLUXOME STREET, APT. 410
SAN FRANCISCO, CA 94107

Phone: 415-843-1515

If you look at this thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=147341.80) it appears someone called them at the 415 number and successfully reached them, so I'd go with this newer info.    Cool

I don't have any pending transactions with them, but I think the verbiage was along the lines of "Your money should appear in your Chase Bank Account #xxxxxx1234 by Friday, July 26, 2013". If it says "will appear" vs "should appear" then I stand corrected.

Olaf seems to be the customer support "grunt" over there. Here's his LinkedIn profile for no good reason    Grin

I don't know if this slowdown was CoinBase's fault or something with the general bitcoin P2P network, but yes, the irregular time lag for some transactions to propagate are very nerve-wracking. But CB is definitely not a scam operation. Here's their phone and address courtesy the SEC:

CoinBase is a well-regarded site... I've sold them bitcoins and usually received the $$ in my checking account two business days afterwards, which is earlier than the 5-day or so time that they promise.

Your issues might be related to a recent anomalous slow period on CoinBase. See their twitter feed @coinbase ("Apologies for the slow transactions - things appear to be back to normal now.") Various CoinBase transactions were kept in the unconfirmed state too long for some reason. If your cash was supposed to appear today at the latest, I'd give it one more day to show up. If it doesn't, I would tweet them and email support at the same time; their support has never ignored me, although the response time can sometimes leave a bit to be desired (48+ hours).

Let us know what happens, but don't panic just yet.   Cool

Ok, I understand what a mixing service does. But what is the reason to "confusing the trail back to the funds' original source". When and why do I need to use it?

Basically, it increases your anonymity within the blockchain. I won't elaborate on any of various hypothetical reasons someone would want to do that, you can use your imagination.  Grin

What is the purpose of that mixing service?

OK, the remaining 12.53 BTC [approximately] just showed up, a full 4 hours after the initial transaction. No confirmations yet, but they'll come soon enough. So forget my previous post...    Tongue

I suppose the lesson here for newbies using the mixing service is to just wait it out, don't have a panic attack, and don't stay up half the night worrying about losing $$$ like I just did.   Smiley

Hi... almost 3 hours ago, I sent 20 BTC through the Blockchain.info mixing service with a .001 BTC fee... now, 3 hours later, only 7.36 BTC has shown up in the receiving address and that particular transaction has only received 1 confirmation after a full hour. The whole bitcoin network seems rather slow tonight.

I've used the Blockchain.info mixing service multiple times in the past, without problems, with amounts up to 15 BTC at a time. They've all gone through flawlessly, and fairly quickly (within 30 minutes) which is making me worry about the above transaction.

The address Blockchain instructed me to send BTC to was: [redacted after post below]
The receiving address is: [redacted after post below]

Anyway, is this normal? 3 hours, for only 7 out of 20 BTC? I'm hoping the remainder shows up soon enough, and blockchain doesn't "forget" the forwarding transaction with the passage of this much time. Blockchain's automatically-added low fees (0.0001 BTC) don't help either, IMO, and should be changed to .0005 BTC or something.

I'll post again when the remainder shows up, or if it still hasn't after 12 hours or so.
