1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [BOUNTY] VERITY | DECENTRALIZED ORACLE FOR SMART CONTRACTS | ETH & VTY REWARDS on: March 28, 2019, 04:50:45 AM
If anyone has any question about signing up to Verity Alpha, participating in events or the bounties in general please let me know, would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.  Cheesy
hello, how are payments made? Need to accumulate a certain amount of ETH and Verity? For some reason, nothing came to me last wednesday, I don’t really understand how the distribution takes place and how much money should be in the account, so that the deserved tokens and ETH would be sent? This is not enough http://prntscr.com/n2t6so ? paid ETH, possibly and VERITY will soon pay) thanks)

I've noticed its not always on Wednesday but they've never shorted me... glad you got paid, if you ever have any issues, log into their discord.. I had an issue with one of their contests in the past...it took me several weeks to get paid, but they made it right.

I'm a pretty big fan of this project (started with the original bounty and I've been participating ever since when it was called Eventum).  The platform does offer lots of opportunity for tokens and is pretty straight forward and is easy to use.  I kind of equate its use case as sort of a mechanical turk of blockchain, whether they'd agree with that analysis or not I have no idea.   Anyways, lots of cool events, everything from reviewing security camera footage to reporting on the World Cup to determining satirical articles vs real news.  The only negative is some of the events are starting to fill quickly, and since they aren't "live" join events, you have to sign up for them early, which can be a bit tricky keeping up with the join time vs event time when lots of things are going simultaneously... but its still alpha/beta.

4  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Question about taxing on: November 06, 2018, 04:16:41 PM
Like others here have said in USA all trades on crypto is taxed as property, whether you cash out or not... to pay the least amount of taxes you need to go 12 months without trading an asset so it becomes a long-term capital gains tax over a short-term and its considerably less % wise, but your potential earnings not daytrading could be less, so you'll have to weigh these two options... and if you're in the USA and are attempting to avoid paying taxes, then you shouldn't be day trading on coinbase/GDAX because they will 1099K you if you clear a certain threshold of trades... the system is borderline criminal when it comes to how its taxed and its fairness, but the flipside is if you owe a  lot of taxes, you made a lot of money and that I guess makes up for it.  Places like Binance currently do not report taxes to USA so its probably okay for now, but you have to report you have money overseas or you can be fined.. and you never know what 5 years from now may look like, and you may get back reported.   You'll have to analyze your risk/reward ratio of all options yourself.

Seems like a viable strategy if you fully think ICX is the future, and quite a few do.... cost averaging is the best thing you can do to fix your mistake, but you will have to sell some of your stacks as you move in profit before you would likely want to because you'll need stacks in case it flops again to keep participating buying down.. good luck though, I know how you feel and I think you're doing the best thing you can, even if it hurts.... but this is why they say don't catch falling daggers and wait for bullish confirmation before buying things.
6  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Who do people dump tokens below ICO price and how can this be stopped? on: October 31, 2018, 03:02:41 AM
Most of the problems really aren't people dumping other than maybe a few bounty hunters... its just on low liquidity DEX's its easy for bots to wash trade (trade amongst each other to wash the price down..).. this causes noobs to capitulate and panic sell while big players accumulate at insanely low prices.. I honestly don't think this can be stopped until DEX's find a way to have more liquidity or centralized exchanges quit charging such high prices for listings.
7  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is margin trading? on: October 31, 2018, 02:59:55 AM
Be careful with margin trading in this range for crypto... this is where almost everyone gets rekt... down between 6000-6500...any bad candle or bart candle can hit your stop or liquidate you before you can even blink... if youre gonna go long or short on margin, make sure to enter on the extremities and be patient.. also don't put your stop at obvious places, because whales will find you.

9  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How did you start trading? on: October 28, 2018, 05:38:24 AM
I started paper trading using Bitfinex as an exchange for statistics, and just bought and sold BTC and ETH on paper 20-40 times per week, and didn't do any trades til I started making profit consistently.. its still somewhat hard of a transition to real money though because discipline can fall apart really quickly when real money is involved, because its so emotional.  But paper trading helped me objectively understand areas to buy and sell and areas to avoid, and learning the patience that it takes to turn profit.   I feel like a trader's worst nightmare is being bored, because you will do stupid trades just to have something to do... if not trading be learning, or avoiding trading and crypto altogether to do something else.
10  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is your #1 top trading resource? on: October 28, 2018, 05:35:16 AM
The only real source I've used for learning how to trade was 51 Percent Crew on Youtube/Facebook and Crypto Cred.. The rest is really just learning different indicators and their settings for crypto and applying them together for better educated guess zones... The most important thing I've learned over trading the past 3-4 years is you can still be wrong entering any trade, but the area you can improve the most is avoiding dumb zones, or places where price will not change direction... I used to just position trade and anything buying lower was good enough, but when you look at it more objectively, most areas on the chart should be avoided for buying or selling.
11  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: INSTANT EXCHANGES on: October 28, 2018, 05:32:04 AM
Just a simple convenience mechanism for a fee... its probably worth it if you're selling small bounty tokens or something like that, but in large quantities the fee can really add up and you'd be much better off doing it manually.. I see really no reason to fud them, but I don't use them because of the fees, plain and simple.
12  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Most bitcoins trader are liers and bragg, Are you one of them? on: October 22, 2018, 04:12:36 AM
whoever boasts about his earning (generally speaking not only bitcoin trading related) is always lying. because you will never find someone who is advertising their financial situation to others if there is no benefit in it for them.

in case of traders, only those idiots who think if another newbie idiot falls for their nonsense and buys bitcoin they can make profit  and if they don't they will lose everything!

Definitely true, everyone has an agenda, whether its as simple as a need for positive (or even negative) attention, or its just a ploy to make them look smarter or exploit people thinking they are knowledgeable for some other angle.
13  Economy / Exchanges / Re: RightBTC good exchange or scam? on: October 22, 2018, 04:09:23 AM
IMO whether its fud or not, I always look for something to prove that its not a scam with large amounts of people participating and looking at social media to see the comments... also that its not plagued with fake volume and has lots of legit users... even if its not a scam I'd wait before using it, the market will lead you to using it or avoiding it with time.
14  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Should I stop trading in this bear market? on: October 22, 2018, 04:07:06 AM
Definitely defends on your time frame, if youre in it for the long term its probably best to by at these low prices but if youre looking for quick flips I wouldn't be participating with these "falling daggers".
15  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Give your opinion about the current market and future on: October 20, 2018, 09:29:58 AM
Market will go up but it has to capitulate all the noobs out first.. you saw this a lot in the 90s with institutional money trying to convince people that tech stocks and .com bubble was a stupid investment, and after the trough area, they bought it all and sold it at all time highs at the early 2000s.. two things really, don't be scared out of your position but more importantly... buy things when they are cheap and avoid all time highs.. there will be no saving you in crypto if you buy at the tops and don't participate at the lowest of corrections.
16  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: looking someone who teach me Trading. on: October 20, 2018, 09:25:41 AM
If you're really interested in learning its gonna take a good 12-18 months of experience, and atleast  one full market cycle to understand the ups and downs of how this market works.. and it takes a lot of time, gains, losses, frustration, crying and happiness... then when you experience all the ups and downs, the last lesson is to let go of all emotions around it and just assimilate like the Borg on star trek.  Welcome to the wild wild west, but don't think its just looking at a few charts and a couple of indicators and that will be enough.. you will need to devote lots of time and almost make it an obsession til the chart starts showing its hidden story.
17  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Begginers in trading ( share you experiences about trading ) on: October 20, 2018, 09:22:41 AM
Trade based off of Satoshi value, not USD value... USD value can give you a real false sense of security in doing well when you actually maybe aren't.  Kind of hard to explain in a bear market, but when it goes bull, its not really enough just to make money, you need to be multiplying and growing exponentially since your window is very small.
18  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the future of investment? on: October 18, 2018, 06:12:56 PM
Right at this moment, the stock markets are probably the worst places to "invest" your savings. This is my opinion, and I believe that we are now in a bear market for stocks, and probably for dollar based bonds.

You don't "invest" in crypto-currencies, but you speculate on the exchange rates. Having said that, I believe that Bitcoin is a good store of wealth, and ranks alongside gold and silver coins. The interesting newcomer is the legal tender coin announced by Tuvalu - it is the first one to be manufactured from rhodium, which is more valuable than gold.

This... the stock markets and equities markets will easily see a 1-1.5 year correction once the bull trap sets in.. and the housing market, jobs/economy will follow... we're in an "everything" bubble where all things you can own are overvalued, and everything will see the chopping block... Crypto is only safer since most of its bleeding and correction are near its bottom so the maximum level of potential exists in speculating... you even lose holding fiat because its losing at a rate of 3% per year due to inflation.
19  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Still not understanding leverage on: October 18, 2018, 06:07:15 PM
Can you please go into details what you don't understand, it would help alot... also it looks like you opened and closed, are you long or short? Did it not fill? Please give some more details and we will try to break it down more.. that is such a weird layout though.
20  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When margin trading; Keep your coins on exchange overnight, or withdraw? on: October 18, 2018, 05:59:42 PM
I definitely think you should avoid trades overnight but thats just me.. its such a scary thing even if you set an alert to be awoken at 3 or 4 in the morning and aren't really awake enough to grasp whats going on and have to make an immediate decision... but I see the other side too where sometimes trades take longer than that to play out, and you shouldn't be so scared out of your position...  I think the easiest solution is play the extremities and avoid the dumb zone in the middle... like only go long below 6100 and only go short above 6800 and play on small margins... then it makes it a bit less stressful even if you hold your position through the night.
