1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DECENT Announcement - Decentralizing Content Distribution on: July 29, 2019, 03:13:39 PM
STOs or tokenized investments funds are a legal nightmare and i don't think that dcore is a right fit for that as it isn't really build directly for needs of securities in mind. Also competition is too far ahead. I think that we should focus on something that's in our grasp. Serialized tickets on the other hand sounds interesting, but isn't there already have been a huge icos for developing those?

I agree they are a huge legal challenge. Not one I would want to undertake. Not sure how far along Bardicredit/DECENT is in producing this, so I'm can't say whether or not they are far behind any similar projects. Here is a video of a panel discussion Mr. Michalko took part in a few months back where STOs and the legal hurdles were discussed to some degree.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vHAZYiBR-iI

I have heard of a couple of other projects with event ticketing in mind. Not sure what they pulled in at ICO. I don't think DECENT's aim currently is to produce a specific app for this though. Their focus seems to be mainly in making their platform as widely adoptable as feasible for any potential developer to create 3rd party solutions upon.

If you don't mind explaining, why do you feel DCore is not a good fit for STO's and tokenized investments? I don't know much beyond the basics of that class of tokens, so your perspective would be appreciated.

Do you know any possible "partners" or people interested building in dcore nft?
And were you thinking collectables etc markets or did you have something else in mind on that your platform would support better then erc721?
In short, why did you build it in?

I can't speak for the project as far as possible partners or why the decision to add it was made. However, personally, I think adding NFTs has been a goal for a while. A couple years back, DECENT released a video explaining possible future usecases, one of which was custom, serialized event tickets. Don't know any other way to achieve serialized tokens without attaching data.
Also there was an article some months back about STO's, which would also require linked data. DECENT is also partnered with Bardicredit to create an EU approved tokenized investment fund.
https://decent.ch/press-release/swiss-companies-decent-bardicredit-announce-plans-to-launch-the-first-eu-approved-tokenized-investment-fund/
There are at least two teams that have mentioned working with the new NFTs in the developer channel. Only one has stated their intent. It is not my place to disclose what they are building, but I will say it is not related to collectibles.

Dear Bitcointalkers!

A lot of you have been curious about the newest addition to our DCore blockchain, NFTs (non-fungible tokens).

Check out the newest blog from our CEO, Matej Michalko, in which he digs deep into the concept of this spectacular, up-to-the-minute blockchain-exclusive feature!

Read "Enter the World of Non-Fungible Tokens" by Matej Michalko on Medium!

image loading…

How does your NTF protocol differs from erc721 or erc1155? And do you have a marketplace coming up for the potential collectables in your chain?

I haven't finished fully researching all of the aspects of NFTs on DCore yet, but from what I've read so far they are more akin to ERC 721 tokens. The major difference being that informational data is stored on the blockchain instead of a metadata string to link external data, though referencing an external data source would still be possible.

From what I can tell, there is no current way to multi send NFTs and there isn't a way to code a smart contract to instantly respond to an NFT transfer (though an external application could be made to handle this), so DCore NFTs aren't comparable to ERC 1155 tokens.

I am curious about PHP SDK.
Can you please provide some more info about that?
Thanks.

The DCore PHP SDK can be downloaded from DECENT's Github here: https://github.com/DECENTfoundation/DCorePHP-SDK
The Readme contains information on prerequisites, installation and usage.

You can also ask any questions you may have in the DCore Developers channel on Telegram: t.me/DCoreDevelopers
Or by emailing support at support@decent.ch

Did anyone tried the iOS wallet of DECENT? It's bit weird that we will have to create a wallet on Desktop in order to use it on cell phone.

The android wallet is the same way. Registering a new DECENT account on the blockchain requires a transaction (and 0.005 DCT if I remember correctly). Creating a new account on the web wallet is currently free because DECENT covers the fee.

Personally, I like that the mobile wallet doesn't automatically set up a new account, as it lets me switch between my existing accounts as need be when I want. You do not have to create a new account for the mobile wallet unless you just want to. You can link any existing DCT account.

Adding a feature to allow account creation directly in the mobile wallet has been suggested previously in the Telegram channel. DECENT may add it to the app eventually.

Hello, everyone! image loading...

A lot of you have been asking us about our goals and plans for the year 2019.

Without further ado, here are the newest milestones added to our current roadmap!

Check them out in our newest blog post, Road Trippin’ with Our 2019 Roadmap image loading...

Not as exciting coming year for Decent as i had hoped for. I can't really hype that for anyone. :/
Me too. That goes unexpected as expected by me.  Cry

But is there someone who can tell me about can I open my decentgo wallet in the new wallet site? I have some decent in my account and just waiting for the answer. Is it possible?

It is currently still possible to get your account information from decentgo, though I do not know for how much longer that will be maintained.

Go to decentgo.com
Click on "Wallet File (JSON)" button.
Enter DGo email, DGo password and a new password for the JSON file you will download.
Click "Export".
This will download the wallet.json file.
Go to https://wallet.decent.ch/
Click "Log In" button.
Click "Upload" button.
Select the JSON file you just downloaded.
Enter the password you created.
Accept the terms by checking the box.
Finally, click the "Next" button.

Another stupid explanation that started again.
The transaction has nothing to do with me. I already have enough dcts. ....
Beyond your imagination.... but I have no idea to sell dct yet.
The money is not for me, but for eating and living there is no problem at all.

You must be smarter than you are now.

"Beyond your imagination" lmao. Ok Mr Whale lmao

Tell me something.... how angry did you get after you market sold at 1400 sats and the market immediately responded by shooting up to 1600 sats? Lmao I bet you were absolutely furious.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DECENT Announcement - Decentralizing Content Distribution on: March 20, 2019, 10:40:36 AM
Someone is going to continue to sell over 200000 dcts to the market.
He continues to dump the price and try to sell his coin.
But no one seems to have the capacity to buy it. How about supporters buying his dct?

What a poor dct holder!!!!

We all know it is you trying to short the market.

On March 11th, there was a transaction of 239,999.9 DCT from Bittrex to Upbit (an exchange you idolize and speak of often).
https://explorer.decentfans.org/transactions/2cdf723102c9d5d2d4e3d20603de231dea227312
Interestingly, this is also the exact same day that you stopped FUDing on here and magically converted to a DCT supporter. Hmmm.

Then on March 18th, there was a transaction of 245,505.97003912 DCT from your favorite Upbit back to Bittrex.
https://explorer.decentfans.org/transactions/f748edb7934144f083f8d3b4f9fd1e32319531d7
Which was market sold on Bittrex at around 1400 sats on the 19th.
Interestingly, this was also the exact same day that you began FUDing this project again. Hmmm..

And now you are begging people to buy the remaining of your holdings as you vainly attempt to drop the price in order to short the market. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Congrats on making around 12% from the 11th to today, though you aren't fooling anyone here. We know your silly game. Nothing you say here and no attempt by you to crash the price will have any long term affect on this project.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DECENT Announcement - Decentralizing Content Distribution on: March 19, 2019, 07:00:39 PM
I have a doubt, someone could tell me how many developers are working on the DECENT project? I think it would be good to know, because with the development of the project the future will be better.

Per CEO Matej Michalko's latest panel discussion at Hong Kong Blockchain Week 2019, DECENT employs around 130 people world wide at the moment and they are still hiring. I don't know how many of those are specifically developers though.

See this video for reference (about the 6 minute mark) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHAZYiBR-iI
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DECENT Announcement - Decentralizing Content Distribution on: March 15, 2019, 10:28:34 PM
Still dct is very very cheap.
Sooner or later, dct expects a lot of price increases.
Buy a lot when the price of dct is cheap.
The dct team should not let down the expectations of dct holders.

I also bought some, sold, and bought again, but for the price to reach a higher value, in my opinion, depends a little on the BTC, since it is to follow the market and you will see that Tokens, Altcois and other crypto coins walks according to the value of the BTC.

And also as you mentioned, the DCT team can not disappoint their token holders, and this happens with partnerships, developing the roadmap according to the roadmap and so on.

I believe that in addition to this dependence on the BTC(value $$$), the Decent in the future will have a good return($$$).

I agree with your opinion.
I hope to hear some impact news about this time.

I'm afraid someone hacked holmes70's computer! His account agreed that "in addition to this dependence on the BTC(value $$$), the Decent in the future will have a good return($$$)"  Huh

I have been thinking that myself lol.

How much get with vote system ?
You have calculator ?
Payment reward is daily ?

You do not receive rewards for voting for active witnesses (miners). There are at least 2 witnesses that claim to pay a percentage of profit to those who vote for them, though neither of them are high enough ranked to be an active witness at this time.

Payment reward is paid daily to active witnesses.

"How is reward distributed to miners? Is it instant?...
On daily basis, depending on participation rate, missed blocks and network fees from previous day. Allocated reward pool is distributed between elected miners for present day. Miners are rewarded after 24 hours of work. Reward is distributed to their vesting accounts and they can withdraw DCT from there."

Was not active in this thread for some time so sorry if it's already answered but what is Fiction Rite? and what link does it have with DECENT?

Fiction Riot is one of a few new projects recently announced that will run on DECENT's platform DCore. It will be a subscription video streaming service that provides short fiction episodes catered to mobile viewing.

Here's an article that explains it better https://www.forbes.com/sites/jasonbloomberg/2019/02/18/can-blockchain-help-fast-fiction-disrupt-the-streaming-media-disruptors/#1d6883011b32
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DECENT Announcement - Decentralizing Content Distribution on: February 22, 2019, 06:14:26 PM
Netflix had over $11 Billion in annual revenue in 2017. Even if Fiction Riot can capitalize on just a tiny percentage of that, it could still mean huge returns.

Yeah, true, they don't need to replace Netflix. What was i thinking Cheesy. I haven't really been checking on how the competition on the smaller businesses is doing. I just got the gut feeling that they are failing. Well not the HBO and Amazon but they have a strong backing.

The likes of Amazon and Hulu aside, most other streaming services are in the $1 million to $20 million annual revenue range. Haven't really tracked their performance though, so not sure if they are growing or in decline. Vudu seems to be struggling, especially with their announcement to end UltraViolet.

I agree with you that any company that plans to attempt to go head to head with the behemoth Netflix will most likely fail without MAJOR backing. Netflix has grown to become a very powerful and persuasive company. I feel there is room for smaller, niche companies like Fiction Riot though. They seem to be aiming to be a similar, if not better, service based loosely on Netflix's business model but offering specific content that Netflix does not currently provide (short fiction episodes created specifically for mobile consumption). Time will be the ultimate judge, but I feel there is definitely room for Fiction Riot to carve out a segment of the revenue for itself.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DECENT Announcement - Decentralizing Content Distribution on: February 22, 2019, 01:56:33 PM

This seems quite an ambitious project. But disrupting the Netflix model is quite a challenge and requires lots and lots of capital.

Yes, it is very ambitious. Especially considering that Disney is spending around $150 million to develop their own streaming service and many other large players such as HBO are working on it as well.

Though, Netflix had over $11 Billion in annual revenue in 2017. Even if Fiction Riot can capitalize on just a tiny percentage of that, it could still mean huge returns.

Another project powered by Dcore launches!

Token4Hope, the first implementation by The Humanity Token project https://humanitytoken.net/ is a transparent donation system running on DCore. Its application enables charities to fund raise and convert the collected funds into tokens which are redeemable by indigent families at participating stores.

A great use of blockchain for humanitarian purposes.

Maybe there is low DCT volume in exchanges, but a very high volume in new messages in DCT's BTT!

Positive attitude Cheesy. Btw, is it hard to become a designated witness, (or a miner, what ever you call them in dpos) right now?

You can start a miner. You need to be voted by other token holders in order to be among the active miners though, otherwise you won't be effectively mining.

I am guessing i need to do that for a while before i can get a trust of the voters and competition on getting chosen must be hard.
I am assuming that others rarely vote new incomers

I think you need around 2.5 million votes to be an active witnesses right now. Not easy, but once you are up and running, post your proposal here and in the telegram channel. I'll send you some votes too.
