Ok, this money was a perfect loan with negative interest rate, but I think it's time give back our money. Don't you?

Hi
I want my chips Smiley
Do you have any news if avalon will deliver soon?

Cheers,
Tom

Tom or any other buyer on GB1, please let me know if you still want the chips as it may be possible to allocate the number of chips you own in our GB1 on SebastianJ's remaining batches.

I would like to get my chips too, if it's not too late. There will be 64 and assembly in K16 by nekonos.

By "Those" he means Group Buy organizers, ie. bizwoo.
Uh oh Smiley silly me. Thx.

All buyers in batch 1 will receive a refund.
Better than nothing I guess.

Batch 2 is not within the June 22 cutoff limit to request a refund, so those buyers will receive the chips.
Let's hope theese will come.

greets

Chip GB refund requests sent in for those who've voted to do so.

@Bizwoo, @John (John K.) - "for those who've voted to do so". So, the rest of us actually will get chips?

Isn't it better to place whole GB1 refund request as majority voted (or it's not a majority at all?) Is there any graph of "voting"?

Now I'm really starting to worry. Part of buyers will be refunded (hopefully - as they want), and then what? I though there is no posibility of partial refund. such a scenario could place non-refund-requesters in a bad situation (no refund and no chips at all, because of partial refund)

cheers

+1 - true, true.

@BkkCoins - what you gonna do with K16? Are you gonna finish this masterpiece or dump it to "for later" shelf. I'm asking because there are a lot of people (incl. myself) who want this device, despite avalon drawbacks. Maybe, just maybe they will send us the frickin chips.

But if you postpone developing of K16, there will be no point to order it from any assembler (in my case Nekonos). Most of people just yelling about refunds etc. In case of many backing off, what will happend with your 'enterprise' (or other involved). Many of you invested alot in it.

Plese, tell us about your plans.

Oh c'mon people!

BkkCoins spent half of his adult life on K16... Nekonos bought all parts for this (correct me if i'm wrong).
ROI or not, I want my K16's if possible (6 pcs).

But... if you all gonna vote for refund.... You can always sell your units to someone else Cheesy

cheers!

A but pricier? I looked on mouser and it seems to run about $4-5/chip unless I got the wrong one. Thats 3x the price of the PIC controller. Anyway, I'm not going to start into that at this late time.

Ouch...It's ~1$ in Poland :/ Anyways, you're right according to sheduling and other more important stuff. Sorry for buggin Smiley

I must say, that I can't live an hour without checking this thread. You are doing a tremendously good job sir!

Serial # in the firmware. It would be costly to have them printed on the board but it may make sense to add a silk screen label spot for hand writing the number when flashing the PIC. Don't know if that's something vendors would want to do or not. The serial# in firmware is easily viewed on screen. I should also add it in the API stats so it can be used in automated ways.

What about DS18x20? This can measure temperature (a 'bit' pricier than thermistor) but also has unique 64bit serial number. And it's 1-wire.

I hadn't thought about that, but it's possible and perhaps it's tuned for higher frequencies then I'm currently using. We'll see pretty soon. After I get a few more chips mounted I'll add a heat sink and bump up the clock. I think my plan is to add one more on the same bank, and then after that two more on the opposite bank.

About that heatsink. Isn't it true, that avalon chips must be cooled from below? I mean you cannot put heatsink on top of the chip, but below the PCB with silicone thermal pad. It's just like block erupter is cooled.

@Bicknellski

nice.

I wonder, if you get some IR3845, may I ask you to send me one or two* for fair amount of BTC? I want to create some easy basic blocks for breadboard.
You know, the power supply, some avalon chip (or maybe next gen one) and so on to hobby-play with it.

And I don't want to buy ready eval board.

regards

I've started mining with GPUs recently (04.2013) and now i think about buying an ASIC chips machine. There will be no other machines than ASIC based in near future. We can only get smaller (65nm, 45nm) and slightly faster (not by order of 100 i think). So difficulty won't rise indefinitely.

A good idea will be running p2p exchange stock with crypto coins. All you need is client (maybe incorporated in wallet program) and you can exchange with other people. No central point - nothing to close Cheesy

Look at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=200067.0. There is everything you should know. It's very pro thread by the way.
But beware, they are planning to buy chips. Not mining hardware.

After 10k preordered chips (I think about 1 month from now). Then if you wish, the chips will be sent to assembly site... Klondike 16 is a prototype, so the whole thing is adventure at least. I'm an electronics engineer so even with chips alone I can build some hw with specifications that are at Klondike github site.

So.. be carefull what you wish ;)

p.s. And sorry for my eng. I'm using it only to read docs. actually.

Hello fellow members Wink

I want to take part in group buy of Avalon chips and eventually in assembly of Klondike 16 miner but.... I can't send a message to Bizwoo.
So... if anyone can help me in this adventurous task I'll be more than happy.
