The blockchain is a convenient, fast and revolutionary concept to pay for goods whose virtues can't be lauded enough.
IMHO though due to the extreme volatility of specifically btc, pricing things in THIS crypto (as opposed to having a conversion on the fly of something priced in fiat) can present a few problems.
For instance, these last few weeks BTC went from 2900 to 7500 usd. If I advertise today for a good I want to sell and my pitch is "0.2 BTC" in absolute digits the equivalent in "labor" can be totally different within a 2 week timespan. Or at least how that "labor unit" is perceived by most, unless a wide adoption and understanding by a critical mass is achieved.
In a nutshell I tend to keep the value of the brilliant blockchain concept (and great network implementation) separate from the monetary value of BTC that at the moment seems mostly usable as a phenomenal speculation tool.

Better be wary about ICO's, but saying all of them are scam seems a bit of a stretch...

IMHO possible, but not likely. Got some friends that are shorting pretty aggressively, we'll see what happens. I didn't feel like betting against BTC atm.

On paper, it could be for everybody, but in practice I think there are still several issue that might hinder its mass adoption including volatility, buying with fiat that's still a cumbersome process and a general lack of understanding..
If and when these obstacles are removed btc and crypto in general could see widespread adoption.

I think that most average users would prefer not to run a full node. Personally, I run one but then I am obsessed with bitcoin lol.
It's an interesting point. I'm not a fan of running a full node myself. But it could become a digestible concept if / when there's a cultural shift and "full node appliances" become a normal part of people's lives, like a fridge or oven is today. IoT might also help in this regard. No question about the fact money is simply a social construct where multiple individuals agree that something MUST be valuable. |

IMHO zk-snark would be highly appreciated like it is in other cryptos.
