Yes, enough but in parting

Bitcoin hashrate can never be accurately known

Really ? Mining is online, right ? Bitcoinwisdom is online.

Why on earth can´t current hashrate be accurately known ? Well, within say 1-2%. Why the hell is hashrate flat on the last difficulty adjustment when it´s supposed to rise by 7.7% in two days ? Where is that 20+ PH/s going to come from ? And if it´s impossible to accurately know the hashrate how can the difficulty be estimated to a single digit in a number of 40 billion ?

Quote
The best way to think about Bitcoin difficulty is to view it as the maximum amount of computing power it will take to find a particular block reward. The difficulty number is what helps keep the Bitcoin block time at around ten minutes. As more hashing power is added to the network from different computers around the world, the difficulty of finding a block needs to be adjusted accordingly. If there was no mechanism for regulating the amount of hashing power it will take to mine a particular block, then it would be impossible to effectively secure the blockchain.

Code:
Difficulty History

Date Difficulty Change Hash Rate
Dec 30 2014 40,640,955,017 3.00% 290,919,288 GH/s
Dec 17 2014 39,457,671,307 -1.37% 282,449,013 GH/s
Dec 02 2014 40,007,470,271 -0.73% 286,384,627 GH/s

The hashrate is calculated by the average time needed until a block is found. Bitcoinwisdom calculates them by 512 blocks average, so it's just an assumed hashrate.

And please stop quoting bitcoinwisdom numbers several times a day, everybody is aware of this site. Thanks.

Thanks for constantly updating this.

As the hashrate is heading towards 300 PH/s, can you please explain the difficulty change that is needed for a SELL dividend?
6  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Deprived Mining Speculation (DMS) on: September 13, 2014, 09:29:09 AM
Anyone make any progress in tracking down Deprived or uncovering his rl identity?

I think this is no more relevant, as the ciphermine bond is officially worth nothing:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=286634.msg8732682#msg8732682

And DMS holdings consist of 70% (?) ciphermine bonds, though even if Deprived shows up again it wouldn't matter much...

Wo ich aber dann als Käufer von Gutscheinen "aus zweiter Hand" eh keinen Einfluss drauf habe. Dann dürfte man Gutscheine generell nur vom Herausgeber selbst kaufen.
9  Local / Suche / Re: Suche Gutscheincodes für amazon.de on: August 21, 2014, 04:41:35 PM

And before this date, you can redeem the bonds within a 3 months period. There are some people who redeemed it in March I guess, so we'll see if they get their coins back in June.

Second possibiliy is that the bond starts trading on Ciphertrade any time soon, but.... you know.

Yes, I'm one of the people who gave 3 months' notice in early March. I guessed it would not be liquid before early June. I will certainly be telling the world (for better or worse) what my experience is with redemption.

Any news on this?

[...] that I haven't disappeared  Wink

... yet  Wink

Besides, on a more serious note: Are you able to pull the distribution of MINE and SELL holders from havelock? I'd like to know how many holders own more than 1000 of MINE or SELL, more than 100 etc

You should read the first post. If you don't understand why both assets are depleting, don't invest.

Hint: It works as intended.

B.MINE holders rejoice as block generations slow a bit, allowing one more day of divs at the current rate!  Grin

I'm really wondering where those massive swings come from... +15 PH in a single day, and -15 PH the other day. That would be 15000 miners of the newest 1 TH generation hitting the network and then vanish again.... perhaps manufacturers "testing" their costumers hardware before shipping?
