1  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Block Erupter Resetting Rigs, Perhaps we are starting to see a Failure rate. on: September 12, 2013, 03:18:57 PM
im gunna wrap this up with a last message then im gunna finish selling the rest of my GPU's.

These products have not been out for long and yes I'm only 1 person out of the orders. maybe the assembly process on my Key spazzed out for a .1 of a ms. and this is an isolated case. But would you rather have people report back on adventures or should i have just said nothing.

The internet is what it is, and in a flimsy market as it is every scrap of information is vital for future decision making.

I do have faith in BTC, just right now we have come a long way from mining on 1 cpu in the bedroom.

Just the 1.

just because i love you all that little bit more.............

here is rig number 4 this key is going nowhere near my current miners.

currently the lesser of my previous miners currently working as an Apache server monkey downstairs ,  ASUS Mobo, 4gb Ram, 60gb SSD, 600w OCZ PSW.

Literally nothing is connected to this thing.

I'm telling you how it is, believe what you want.

I've never been a fan of overclocking even when it comes to gaming, as I'd prefer the chance at reselling my previously owned equipment rather than ending up in the burnt rigs thread.

This thing was supposed to be plug and play, couldn't withstand the tests of time in North England at 333mhashes.

What is AsicMiners policy on RMA? is it anything like ATI........ obviously not.

I can accept a loss because I MADE THE PURCHASE AND TOOK THE RISK it then becomes a lesson, or you would see a more irrational person posting here.

Nice try guys,

The block Erupter was hosted on a Quad Core server initially ( yes an actual Intel PC system), then tested on a AMD FX & 3x 7950's (with and without GPU's), An Acer laptop (i5, 8gb ram)

Power supply for all my machines are above the 1000w mark because of previous GPU rig operations,( which i've never had a card fail on me since 2012 and some of them were bought used on the last legs)

Cooling was adequate as I had a USB desk fan always pointing directly at it.

I know its hard for some of you to comprehend but did you ever think that its the manufacturer rushing these things out so no basis of proper testing could occur.

"Nah it's the silly miner hes probably using some Ghetto gas generator he powers with moonshine and his cooling option is his sister constantly blowing on it."

lol

As to say i will not be buying any more AM products after this experience, better to wait until all these companies slow down with releases of new technology and that the battlefield of the marketplace becomes somewhat more sensible for investors.
5  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Block Erupter Resetting Rigs, Perhaps we are starting to see a Failure rate. on: September 11, 2013, 09:34:56 PM
I've been running my BE for a couple of months now, kind of as a novelty as I've been contemplating purchasing a AM Blade 10Gh and thought I'd see how reliably this functions.

Days ago my rig started to reset, and then started to become more frequent, ive checked the unit on multiple PC's, with/without powered hubs and it appears this thing is dead. This thing cant be connected without a hard reset back to bios screen, or mine for longer than 24 hours without collapse

Ive checked the board and nothing appears to be shorted or burnt, however this thing is officially a brick now.

I hope i'm the only one because I cant find any problems with these things online minus the price of them.

I thought i'd share this in case anyone is unsure if these ASIC's will last anywhere close to ROI, as the difficulty rise and BTC price is already an issue.

I'm not saying these things are faulty i'm just saying mine failed in less than 3 months and i didn't even overclock the thing.

Some food for thought.

Приветствия для 20000м парней запрета. Вы не все равно, кто вы запретить, и этикетки людей только потому, что расисты они реагируют на расизм.

Обналичивание Теперь с ее помощью было хорошо.

Cheers for 20000m ban guys. You dont care who you ban, and label people racists just because they respond to racism.

Cashing out now , Its been good.

Bye.
8  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: BFL is shipping on: June 06, 2013, 07:05:07 PM
All very good points, Still i think people will flock more to pools than solo mine in the ASIC boom, people on old equipment will still be able to make a share, but how much is anyones guess until the hardware starts rolling out, its the waiting i cant stand, in the meantime things are pretty good.
9  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: BFL is shipping on: June 06, 2013, 05:59:30 PM
It's going to be very hard soon to mine anything.

how come? someone announce ASIC-scrypt miners?
10  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Difficulty jumps 28% on: June 05, 2013, 11:41:35 PM
GPU's wont become useless they will just farm alt coins and exchange for BTC, The BTC market is about to take a whole bunch of steroids. Pulling up a recliner for this firework show over the coming months.
11  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Alt-Coins on: June 05, 2013, 02:23:48 PM
I wouldn't worry too much, its just a bandwagon thing, most of the alt coins will cease to be after a set time, its why theres no point giving a second glance, they are usually released after the creator has mined a crap load which sells on launch then abandons the whole thing, new coins also need to have their source checked as it can easily be manipulated to benefit an individual or small group.
12  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Alt-Coins on: June 05, 2013, 01:26:57 PM
Its also down whats hash efficient, some peoples rigs mine Scrypt way faster than SHA-256. Sometimes its not always down to how much the coins worth.
13  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Butterflylabs Huge SCAM on: June 04, 2013, 02:54:27 PM
BFL Scam ? no. its just not as a lucrative business option as they promised on pre-order launch. Every customer will recieve their units, but on arrival will be earning the same as GPU'ers are now.

Maybe, who knows...... we'll see.
14  Other / Off-topic / Re: Selling a working Avalon ASIC miner (NOT a preorder) on: June 04, 2013, 02:48:09 PM
damns 250btc, 80 days ROI with current difficulty, making it end of August starting to mine for profit, there will be very short period of time to make good profit, the next 80 days, probably, will make less then half of that sum, as all the asics hit the market (and i'm not talking abut bfl), if 30% of bfl hit the market till September, which is probably not going to happen, 80 days will make about 50btc.... but this still profitable not as it is now tho...

^^^^ ... this. But let's try working backward. 80 days ROI at current difficulty, so 40 days to recover half the cost. Use that to calculate the maximum acceptable rate of difficulty increase (so the other half of the cost is recovered by mining for eternity). 40 days is almost 6 weeks or 3 difficulty increases. Cube root of 2 is 1.26, so as long as the difficulty increase is less than 26% per fortnight, you'll recover your costs. But factor in delivery time, and the exact point in the block difficulty cycle to get an accurate answer, and perhaps you won't make any profit at all. Do your math folks.

this +1

why selling such a profit maker?

too early to say, if history taught us anything , the prototype rarely survives.

16  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Too late for mining? on: June 04, 2013, 02:16:15 PM
ASIC's cant mine Scrypt coins. i guess they saw this coming.

now, but there is work on fpga Scrypt mining. ASIC is just next step

This should buy another 1yr at least.

They already have CPU's with Memory caches for Scrypt, its called a PC / GPU, Literally to get the CPU / Memory ratio correct they need to compete with AMD / Intel and NVidia. its not a simple case of placing chips in array like BFL are doing.

either-way the coming months are going to be very Interesting, I'm holding back from adjusting my setup/Spending more money until the dust clears.

btw its good to join the forum, ive been reading for some time but just decided to sign up.

You just have to make sure you choose correctly, nothing that a little research, math, reading doesn't solve. Also its never a good idea to jump on a new coin anyways as the Market and Difficulty is too flimsy to even consider making the investment.
