1  Other / Beginners & Help / Any clone/follow-up of The Biggest Fish game? on: June 04, 2013, 06:48:11 PM
I was away from BTC world for a while and when I got back, The Biggest Fish had completely vanished. I understand that it was shut down (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=127159.msg1395532#msg1395532 ), but:

1. Is there any clone/similar game active now anywhere?
2. Is the code from the original game available?

Thanks in advance for any pointers about this.

So we have come to the conclusion that believe it or not, as shocking as this may sound...this random person isn't going to send you free money.  *GASP*

But what I dont get is why the OP is doing this, what does he stand to gain?

Maybe just for fun? Kinda throwing the bait and then laughing at how many people start begging basically?

From my point of view, the only thing wrong with the current system is that it is not flexible enough to NOT waste the time of those who have what to contribute, but just happen to have joined recently the forum.

It's not really a huge problem, as 4 posts are easily made in the newbies threads (even without shouting like spoiled kids lemme out) and the hours - well, they too shall pass.

However, assuming that the point is to delay (for everybody's benefit) only newbies and not just everybody, why not consider also something along the lines of recommendation from a trusted/hero member or wot rating (would need linking the account to a username there, but it can be done with a signing challenge)?

I mean: those with a good wot rating or trust from several trusted members here can directly post everywhere.

Hmmm, maybe I'm missing something, but why not link forum users to wot users and use the trust ratings and lists from there?

Echo wanting to have my finger on the pulse.

Uh, oh, how about the bitcoin pulse on irc then?

Seems like even the pulse is... distributed with BTC, lol.

Can somebody show me what's the fastest way to acquire bitcoins?

For example, where can I go (exchange or otherwise) to buy 100 BTC today?

Thanks in advance.

It depends on how (and how much) you want to pay for them.

If you are in the UK, BitBargain works instantly (you might want to try first with smaller amounts). Or in general otc I guess.
