2  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: DID COINBASE ALSO SUSPENDED BITCOINS SALES PAYMENTS??? on: February 14, 2014, 05:16:32 AM
Coinbase is working just for me.  Coinbase is generally not INSTANT, as funds need to clear from the banking system.

4  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory - Discussion Thread on: December 10, 2013, 06:24:27 PM
0.90 working great.  Very fast start/restart.  WAY less RAM.  Very happy, thanks!

I recommend this software at meetups.  Thanks again!
5  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Can Armory be trusted as much as Bitcoin-Qt? on: November 22, 2013, 05:27:39 PM
Good questions.

Armory version 0.88.1, which I believe is the current version, uses a lot of RAM.  About 5GB on my machine.

It's my understanding that there is a big update coming out soon which improves things.

Version 0.88.1 seems to be working pretty good, aside from the RAM issue.
6  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: 0 Confirmations - Transactions stuck? on: November 19, 2013, 06:49:18 PM
I right clicked and viewed blockchain.info
The transaction was not found.

I went to help -> armory version...
I am using 0.88.1, looks like I'd better upgrade.

I shutdown Armory and went to the Armory home dir... there is no Mempool.bin file.  Windows7 search found mempool.bin in C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming
I renamed it to mempool.bin.BACKUP and restarted Armory.  The 0 confirm transactions are gone now, it worked.   Smiley

Q.  Do I need to do anything special to update to the latest version?  Or just download and run it?

Q.  When, if ever, do I need to increase the transaction fee?

Thank you!  I think I should resend the transactions after updating, right?
7  Bitcoin / Armory / 0 Confirmations - Transactions stuck? on: November 19, 2013, 06:05:29 PM
I initiated 3 armory transactions this morning.  They are sends OUT from armory, and were initiated over 4 hours ago...  they are stuck with 0 confirmations.   Huh

What should I do?

I read somewhere that transactions with multiple addresses involved are larger sized, and that they may require larger transactions fees in order to get processed.  Do we think this is what is causing the delay?  In the armory transaction window, I see there are 16 inputs, and 1 output.  I attempted to send with the standard 0.0001 transaction fee, and it's been 4 hours now, and zero confirmations.

How should I proceed?  Thanks.

Now that Bitcointalk is back up... How are these projections coming along?

Any major changes that should be noted?

9  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Where to easily get historical bitcoin diffculties? on: September 09, 2013, 04:52:15 AM
Where can the exact difficulties of the past months be found?  I know I can read the values off the difficulty charts, but I'm really looking for something like a table of more exact values.  I'm sure this exists... where?

Or some way to get those values?

11  Economy / Trading Discussion / Someone wants to sell me his bitcoins, wants paypal? on: September 05, 2013, 08:48:41 PM
If someone wants to SELL me his bitcoins, and wants paypal for them... what should I do?

I would never sell my bitcoins for paypal, as I have been reading about how bad that is with chargebacks and what not.

What's the best way to pay this guy for his bitcoins remotely?  Some sort of escrow?

18  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why bitcoin price dropped ? on: July 08, 2013, 10:40:42 PM
I think maybe the following 3 reasons adding up.

  • Mt Gox usd withdraws resumed
  • Less "buzz" about bitcoin lately because it's been awhile since the peak at 250
  • Some ASIC miners might be in a rush to get the money they invested back, ie they're rushing to "ROI" them, and selling coins

What to do about it?
We need more users !
Buy USB "Block Eruptor" Miners from CanaryInTheMine.  Start mining with them, and try to sell them to tech savvy friends asap !

Here's the US Group buy thread from CanaryInTheMine...

Now get to it!  Smiley Smiley Smiley
19  Other / Beginners & Help / Bitfloor - Are USD deposits going to be paid back?? - Roman? on: June 04, 2013, 07:55:18 PM
Long time lurker, first time poster...

When bitfloor shutdown, some users like myself had USD in the site.  Now it's been over 2 weeks since there was any kind of update...   Shocked  What gives?
www.bitfloor.com

Who out there knows what is going on with the bitfloor situation?  What is Roman up too anyway?  What is bitfloor doing in order to pay all of us back who have been waiting so patiently?   Anyone else wondering what the heck is going on, or have any new information?
