Googling someone's username doesn't exactly tell you about the person. Nor would googling me.

Now stop this dumb thread before it becomes even dumber. (Over an ethical professional hacker who may have gotten access to an SMF board?) SMF is lame and insecure but it's whats up right now.

I like the idea of people putting job offers up for BTC transfers. That would take some trial and error though and I'm unsure about scamming issues. As far as the field of jobs, I think that the Bitcoin community as a whole is able to use their technical knowledge in their life to help others on this board for a few coins.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Daily Bitcoin Demographics -2- How old are you? on: May 15, 2011, 07:36:53 PM
I find it funny that they just smile and nod. Considering it's young people who affect the world too. As if they're somehow conceited and downplaying our role in society.

Anyway, enough ranting on other people's parents. How long do you plan on keeping this poll up, it'd be very interesting to see a demographic of age over a few 100 people in the poll.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Prices over $7 up to $8/BTC! on: May 15, 2011, 03:03:13 AM
It's weird, because I started mining when it was $3 a coin, and that was so recently...

Hope this means a solid $7.5/btc for the weeks to come, right guys?

Time to buy, while they're cheap. Cheesy

Or not, me and a buddy are farming to build up some money for a rig that isn't wasteful on power or our wallet to start up. So can't get into trading just yet :/
But when we do. we'll get the spray paint out and label each box specifically "Hookers" or "Blow" so that we know exactly where we should put the money when it comes time to invest.

6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Max speed 80 Mhash/s with 5770? on: May 15, 2011, 02:08:18 AM

I get 201MH/s if I am at 950MHz
I get ~150MH/s if I am at 850MHz
try leaving it at 860 to 870 this card and some other 5xxx series overclock generally in a very easy manner.
Don't mess with the voltages in MSI afterburner (btw, I use afterburner too)

- Make a custom fan profile in MSI afterburner (I try to keep the fan around 4000RPMs and the core under 70C)
- Bring down the speed on Memory clocks and you'll probably save like 2Watts, not much considering the card is 108W but it has zero performance impact by bringing it down (plus it's generating less heat this way)
- Expect lots of extra heat if you overclock the card, please again, make a fan profile so you don't ruin your card.
