By definition, quantum entanglement IS information exchange in zero time regardless of distance. Changing the state of 'A' instantly changes the state of 'B', and any binary state system can be used for information exchange. On gravity waves: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFJjrD5pq_IIf you really are interested, you should check out alternate explanations as well. Standard physics explanation on gravity is a logical fallacy resulting from circular argument: Mass of particles generates a gravity field in the 3d spatial space (whatever that is, it is undefined in material terms), and particles have mass because the gravity field of other particles "pulls" on them in the 3d spatial space. It is a circular argument, a closed loophole of thought. Does not explain the origin of mass in matter (no, Higgs-bozons are a hoax, which assumes the 3d spatial space has magical abilities, non measurable ofc). Of course I disagree, but we are in the wrong forum for this. If you're are looking for some credible faster-than-light information transport schemes, I suggest you check the work of Guenter Nimtz with the tunnel effect ... for example http://startrek.ehabich.info/ftl.htm

gravity has to/is clearly works near instantly through the galaxy, otherwise it would fall apart.
Recent reception of gravitation waves simultaneously to light signals from a distant galaxy's dramatic dwarf stars collapsing one into another prove that wrong. And quantum entanglement cannot be used to send information.

If you don't think 70% of the hashpower moving from bitcoin to an altcoin is a problem, I don't know what else to say.
Of course it is. And it's all part of the big block hijack plan. It can't be stopped unless BCH becomes worthless to mine. We'll have to wait and see with that. Miners are not our friends and they're not supposed to be, though it certainly has been taken a little further than I ever expected. Why do you people think that is a problem ? Bitcoin was working fine with 1/1000 of this hashrate not very long ago ...

then logically what coin is next to be pumped This made my day => "The five stages, denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance are a part of the framework that makes up our learning to live with the one we lost. They are tools to help us frame and identify what we may be feeling. I believe you're in the anger stage." "Wrong. There are two stages. First they pump, then they ... Well here"

The miners use their hash power as a weapon, the non-miners also have power over that weapon, as we determine the POW.
Changing POW, that's like using a nuclear weapon in bitcoinland, right?

When can I split my stash in to BTG? looking good to dump it about now
BTG launches on sunday 12th. Going public during week-end, ... sounds pro.

BTC.top stopped signalling segwit2x an hour ago.
still 942 btc1 nodes alive on the network.
|
|
|
Antpool stopped signalling segwit2x. still 941 btc1 nodes on the net.
I am watching this like milk on the fire, just in case someone get a funny idea next week.

Does this mean eventually that McAffe will do on TV what he said he'd do on TV ?

Quantum will kill all hash functions. the thing is we are still > 10 years from home quantum. Currently, it only works in the lab near absolute 0 edit: I a word I just thought ... If quantum computing represents a potential problem, can it also be a possible solution to scaling problems? not "10 years from home quantum" but "10 years from quantum being a treat for bitcoin" and we all know how accurate are 10-years predictions. If you tried to program a quantum computer only once, you know it's never gonna happen.

Nevertheless, I'll join the party when the number of btc1 nodes decrease significantly. And also when the Segwit2x flag go away from the mined blocks. Just being cautious.

Wow, big blockers got a big dose of butthurt today.. lol
Lets see how the markets react now, but releasing this announcement few days before the fork smells weird...
A few days _after_ would have been weirder

Errr.. Speaking about rules, what about starting by implementing a good replay-protection procedure ? edit: my bad, the guy was speaking about futures, not the coin itself. I guess he can put all the rules he wants on his crappy derivatives.
