1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin may not be number one for long on: November 06, 2017, 12:11:03 AM
I thought for sure it would take until the end of 2018 but it looks like this summer ethereum might pass it up. With the turmoil around BTC potential splitting, it might be very soon. IMO this is healthy, we will always value bitcoin for being the one that started it all, but it's time for a more dynamic and adaptable currency to take the lead.
I don't think that what you're saying is true,  I feel that bitcoin will continue to grow.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you USE your BTC? on: November 06, 2017, 12:03:51 AM
As everyone knows one of the major problems with Bitcoin economy is hoarding. The idea of this poll is to find out whether the lack of spending in the BTC economy is mainly due to the lack of acceptance of Bitcoin payments, or is it that people can actually buy a good deal of stuff that they need with BTC but choose not to.
I only use it when I really need something at the moment.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC near 7000$ on: November 03, 2017, 10:35:17 PM

4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What should I invest into? on: November 03, 2017, 08:19:51 PM
I’m interested in investing $2500 should I just put it straight into btc or mining hardware?
You could easily get a miner and mine altcoins then sell for btc,  but you could also put it straight into btc,  hold,  and hopefully profit.  Your choice op.  Tongue
5  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Why you should NOT get into cryptocurrency mining on: November 03, 2017, 08:07:06 PM
There are many articles and videos on the web that advocate for mining.
So I decided to write an opposite argument why you should NOT go for mining:

https://steemit.com/mining/@walczakit/why-you-should-not-get-into-cryptocurrency-mining

I'm a miner and crypto trader my self so its based on my own experience.
Thanks for this,  it may save some people including me from wasting their time and money.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why I hate 90% of Bitcoin investors on: November 03, 2017, 07:59:31 PM
Most people that investing bitcoin now, are just investing to make money. It annoys the hell out of me. 90% of people haven't read the white paper! Don't even know why decentralisation is a good thing! Don't know why the blockchain is such a revolutionary invention! It annoys me so much! These people just invest because they want to "get rich quick".

And the annoying thing is that if someone had told me about bitcoin 6 years ago, I still would have put all of my money into it. Unfortunately I'm only 16 so I didn't know ANYONE (when I was 9) that would tell me about bitcoin. I only just heard of it 7 months ago and henceforth, have become OBSESSED with crypto. Now I've dropped out of school for crypto and it really does my nut in when all I hear is "Bitcoin to $10K!", "Bitcoin to $20k!".

Deep down I actually hope that the bubble (yes it is a mini-bubble) pops after the Segwit fork and that the price goes back down to $2k. That way all of these stupid investors can suck their thumbs and get taught a lesson. 90% of these people also would have said bitcoin was a scam 9-15 months ago but now look at them. They run around like fucking idiots screaming "BLOCKCHAAINN!!!", "DECENTRALISATIONNNN!!!".

Smh.

Rant over.
It's MY MONEY.  Repeat,  MY MONEY.  I can spend my money how I like,  please don't go off on people for spending their own funds how they see fit lol.

8  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-11-03] Big Investors Are Taking Sides in Bitcoin's Great Bubble Debate on: November 03, 2017, 03:00:22 PM
Is bitcoin a legitimate asset, or a super-bubble waiting to implode? As prices for the cryptocurrency skyrocket, investors and pundits are increasingly taking sides.
Whether you’re a backer or a detractor, what’s not in doubt is bitcoin’s dizzying rally this year. The most widely used digital currency crossed the $7,000 mark on Thursday and is up more than 650 percent in 2017. It’s managed to whip past the $100 billion total value mark despite governmental crackdowns and mainstream market skepticism. Bitcoin was trading at $7,207 at 3 p.m. Hong Kong time on Friday.

I feel that it's a legit asset.

10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is changing the world. on: November 03, 2017, 01:11:02 PM
Bitcoin is changing the way we live.
Bitcoin is changing the way we do business.
Bitcoin is changing the way we travel and save our assets.
Bitcoin and blockchain technology has open new doors for people to do business with one another without the intervention of third parties.

What do you make of this, huh? Share with us what you think. thanks Smiley

I believe this as fact.  It's definitely changing everything,  and in a good way.
11  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-11-02]Bitcoin Price Climbs Above $7,000 for the First Time Ever on: November 03, 2017, 12:31:46 AM
Any guesses as to what is currently driving the whole world crazy??  You’re right, its Bitcoin! This week has been a marathon run in the price of this most valued cryptocurrency with a jump of almost 10-15% in past four days itself. Bitcoin has once again touched a new high above $7000. As per coinmarketcap.com, Bitcoin is currently trading at $7026.47 with a more than staggering $3.5B trade volume in past 24-hours. Now Bitcoin itself contributes a $117B in valuations in the $189B market cap of cryptocurrencies.

One of the major news that has fueled this unprecedented rally is the fact that two major exchanges from U.S. have announced starting the Bitcoin Futures Contracts. CME Group Inc. – world’s largest futures market operator has said that it will soon start cash-settled Bitcoin futures contract by the year-end and is currently waiting for an approval from the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Just a few months back, the CME Group has rejected any such plans but now says that it had to reconsider its decision owing to huge client demands. All the cash settled Bitcoin futures contract will be based on the CME CF Bitcoin Reference Rate* (BRR).
