HEATpool.org ended up with a forging ROI of 2.72%.

The HEAT chain runs very stable now, for many months in a row!
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: HEAT Discussion and Technical info on: June 01, 2018, 06:28:51 PM
Once again a great month is over for forging/staking HEAT. For the ones in HEATpool, we achieved a total ROI of ~2.7% in May, not bad!

Find below some further details regarding the results:
https://heatpool.org/2018/06/01/may-2018-ended-with-2-7-roi-for-heatpool-lessors/

Just imagine you have "only" 10k HEAT, that would have granted you about $50 in forging rewards last month at the current HEAT rate, basically doing nothing!

And then add to that the fact that the prices can only go up from here, as we already have a stable DEX with fast trading, integrated ETH/ERC20 wallet (which works quite well already in its current state), and it should only be a matter of time until the mobile wallet will be here, more trading pairs will be added to the DEX (incl ETH) and the microservices will be released!

I've just written a brief summary on the rewards of HEATpool.org again for April 2018. You can read this here.

Currently the ROI in forging for HEATpool is about 2.6%. So if you are currently not forging yet (solo or in a pool), you are still missing out on some great benefits!

Also very worthwhile to mention, the chain has been running very stable now for quite a while!

Interested on this project, looking for joining Slack without success. May u increase the user limit so new members could join? and how about running a discord server? (even a Telegram channel will do). Reddit and forum r quite deserted. Any solution?

We nowadays use Discord. The following link could be used to join the Discord channel (I hope  Smiley):

I made a BTC withdrawl from the HEAT exchange on Friday and now it's tuesday and I still have not received my BTC.

I can imagine that this gives a frustrating experience to you. Usually I would give you the usual answer like: withdrawals are processed manually, about once per day and a bit less in the weekends. This manual step is a safety precaution in case of potential security or stability issues, thus needed as it could otherwise put quite some funds at risk.

In the current case however, be aware that unfortunately there are some instabilities on the blockchain at the moment, caused by an older bug which should be fixed with the next (2.5.0) release, which is in testing at the moment by the devs (no ETA yet). It might be that the issue will resolve itself, but that requires all nodes to reject the invalid transaction caused by the bug and so far this was not succesful.

You'd be best off by contacting Svante himself here by sending him a PM (Eliphaz Fimk) or join us on Discord, where you can discuss with the community but also with the devs and reach out to Svante directly as well. While the devs are truly busy, they can be very helpful hence I am sure that they will in the end help you out as well.

I have transferred HEAT from my C-Cex account to my HEAT web wallet, it is now shown on the wallet balance, however the 'effective balance' on the wallet is zero, how long does it normally take to have an effective balance ? it seems that I am unable to transfer the HEAT out of the wallet as the effective balance is zero.

As far as I know the effective balance is NOT related to the possibility of actually using the balance (for transfer, exchange, messaging, etc.). The effective balance is only to show what balance is considered to be valid as "stake" in case you are forging. And indeed, for your heat to become active for forging, 1440 blocks need to be passed for your heat to become active. This is also valid for freshly forged heat. Any transaction outside (withdrawal for example) is immediately withdrawn from your effective balance.

So NO, effective balance has nothing to do with trading/transferring HEAT. If that would be the case, then nobody who is leasing out HEAT could trade...

(-55%) per day
The worst coin I bought

I don't get the "per day" part. There was a Genesis HEAT holder who decided to let go of his huge stake, not a big deal with the current volume of HEAT in Heatwallet.com... Meanwhile the devs are still working on the greater things to come, and I trust that they will deliver and make sure that people selling might start to regret that, or not if they found another investment worth obtaining.

can somebody shed some light? I am getting on the server console output "error":"Your peer is blacklisted"} while I upgraded to 2.4.0 (yesterday so I was running the old client for a while.

But on https://heatbrowser.com/report.html I am not blacklisted and on https://heatwallet.com/nodes.cgi I am also not blacklisted is false.

how is this possible  Huh

If nodes.cgi shows your not blacklisted, most likely you are not. In the log you regularly see messages of other nodes being blacklisted, including a reason. If you are running the latest server and are blacklisted, this should be over in a relative short time period (not sure anymore, 1 hour or something like that?).

Most important if you are running a node and are forging, is that you see messages like:
2018-01-14 20:53:36 [pool-1-thread-307] INFO  c.heatledger.BlockchainProcessorImpl - Pushed block 9739185680517697974 at height 1008334 received 2018-01-14 20:53:36 from scwpg3.pause.games  [0 383052733559588 37181536085 13465210166757078183]
This means that your node is pushing blocks. Check for the ID (in the above example this one starts with 973...) and the height (in the above 1008334) and compare these stats with the explorer on heatwallet.com. If the same, that means that your node is in sync with heatwallet.

If you are forging, you sometimes see messages like this:
2018-01-14 20:55:36 [pool-4-thread-2] DEBUG com.heatledger.Generator - Forger 7210663383474895503 deadline 45 hit 130668983
This means that you are correctly forging, and depending on your stake should hit a block soon. If deadline and hit both show zero, that means that you either have 0 stake (know that balance will need to mature for 1440 blocks to become effective) or something else might be wrong.

And the best possible matches are these:
2018-01-14 20:54:13 [pool-4-thread-4] INFO  c.heatledger.BlockchainProcessorImpl - Account 7210663383474895503 generated block 12864891993691556285 at height 1008335 timestamp 130668855 fee 0.0 block time 38 seconds
As mentioned, this one means that you actually forged a block  Wink

Hope this helps, good luck!

For all leasing currently to heatpool.org, be informed that I have finally processed the requested rewards again now the forking has been resolved!

Great work devs, in stabilizing everything again!
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: HEAT Discussion and Technical info on: December 18, 2017, 07:22:16 PM
I am still surprised (and delighted of course!) to see heatpool as the #2 forger in the total list of forgers at heatnodes.org. The current effective balance is around 1.5M HEAT, with most of the times around 35 lessors.

$64K question: Would I earn more HEAT leasing it to your mega-pool than running my own node?

Well, great question but it does depend on a few things: the amount of HEAT you stake yourself and the timing on which you base this. In principle rewards should even out, so while variance is high (higher on lower stakes) overall the forging ROI should be more or less the same as bigger accounts. Even for the pool, the variance is high. In November the ROI was 4.1%, in December it will be higher due to some server upgrades and not everyone who updated yet, I will create a new report again on the site at the beginning of January to share a quick analysis of the success rate.

At least you don't have to worry about managing and maintaining your server, so especially for people who won't be able to do this or have a rather low stake (<5k HEAT for example) my service can help. I am quite active in the Slack and am doing my best to keep the server running 24/7 (using VPS). So far this has been a success in my opinion and rewards are really good I'd say.

Anyone have an automatic payout pool available or try this one?

I am only aware of the OrgiOrg pool, and the one I am offering. There are some accounts in heatwallet which contain the name of "pool" but none of them are actually containing multiple lessors.

Thus far heatpool.org is operating very stable, but using a manual calculation, awaiting the release of microservices to gradually move over to automation. You can at least keep an overview of the open balance of all lessors at the website of heatpool.org, and I have thus far processed all payments within a reasonable period of time, most often 24 hours. If a lease period has ended without extension I will also process the payment asap. Any open balance will also be included in your effective stake in the pool, so even with a later payment none of your rewards are "lost".

I am still surprised (and delighted of course!) to see heatpool as the #2 forger in the total list of forgers at heatnodes.org. The current effective balance is around 1.5M HEAT, with most of the times around 35 lessors.

Well done devs, issues solved quickly and everything is up and running again!
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: HEAT Discussion and Technical info on: December 01, 2017, 05:03:39 PM
Thanks for the updates, HEAT is indeed running very stable here!

Looking forward to whatever might come out of the Slush connections!
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: HEAT Discussion and Technical info on: November 24, 2017, 11:52:20 AM
Why has staking rewards been reduced drastically? Was about 5% a month now it is 5% a year?

Not sure, but my staking is still around 4% as it has always been since the start. After I've started the pool this has not changed actually, and the total forging % is also relative stable slightly above 60% of total HEAT cap.
How much HEAT do you have? Are you sure that your node is still properly in sync?
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: HEAT Discussion and Technical info on: November 19, 2017, 11:58:02 AM
My HEAT client is forging butnl itseems as though the block numbers are not tuencurrent ones. For example thebpast one was

block height # 667886

Does this mean I am mining/forging on the wrong chaine or something?Huh

You can compare the latest pushed block from your server log with the blockchain explorer in Heat Wallet. At this very moment, the latest block is #846056 (13578340254574920229), pushed at 2017-11-19 12:57:00.

So you do not seem to be in sync. Are you running the latest server? You could delete the blockchain folder and try again. Always wait for the server to be fully in sync before starting to forge.

Update on heatpool fee structure and some other rules:
I was stunned earlier today to see that the forging pool success is huge, with a current total stake just surpassing the 1M HEAT line! While I enjoy the enthusiasm, I must say that this makes it highly complicated to use my manual calculations on a day to day basis, as per day more than 100 blocks will be forged and the API does not even go beyond those 100 blocks (I use the API currently for a query in Excel). At the same time I also want to state that while I wanted to keep my pool free, I actually want to take a part of this back by installing a progressive fee structure to cover my efforts during the day (which are higher than anticipated), as well as to encourage big holders perhaps also to start creating a HEAT node of their own to improve the overall network stability AND also by getting some more donations towards the HEAT lottery which should serve as an additional driver to create your own node for staking. There is a great guide on heatnodes.org which can be used for this one, on a cheap VPS with Linux.

So without further ado, find below my updated fee structure for the heatpool, based on the amount of HEAT per holder (effective immediately for new lessors; current lessors remain free for their remaining leasing period):
  • <10K HEAT: 0% (free)
  • Between 10k and 25k: 0.5% for me as pool owner, 0.25% towards the HEAT node lottery
  • Between 25k and 50k: 1% for me as pool owner, 0.5% towards the HEAT node lottery
  • Above 50k: 1.5% for me as pool owner, 0.5% towards the HEAT node lottery

Some additional rules I would like to install from now on (effective immediately)
  • Rewards payouts should be requested not more often than once per week. Your cumulative rewards are included in your stake in the calculation, so no need to do more regular payouts
  • Please do not ask for reward payouts if there is hardly anything to payout, which I consider everything below 5 HEAT
  • As mentioned in my earlier instructions, I will only process the payout upon your request in the heatwallet
  • For a leasing period, don't use anything below 10000 blocks as it won't bring you much + I have a challenge in notifying those due to my manual daily check.

I hope you all understand the rationale behind this update
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: HEAT Discussion and Technical info on: November 12, 2017, 03:25:22 PM
why BCH withdrawals on exchange are not working?

As far as I know the gateway has not been created yet for BCH, so for the time being I would not expect any withdrawal/deposit possibilities of BCH. If anyone has better information, then please correct me if I'm wrong.

With the upcoming release of microservices it will be easier to create gateways for new assets, and I understood that the devs will then also be able to set-up more gateways AND shorten the BTC withdrawal times with some other solutions.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: HEAT Discussion and Technical info on: November 10, 2017, 04:46:49 PM
From now you can find all instructions related to my HEAT pool initiative, including a summary showing the current rewards status (still based on Excel and only updated once per day, but better than nothing) on:

https://heatpool.org

At this very moment there are 16 lessors active in the Pool, with an impressive total effective balance at this moment of ~375k HEAT!
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: HEAT Discussion and Technical info on: November 08, 2017, 08:02:22 PM
hey vongraff! i leased my balance for your pool. allready 145,818.00000000 HEAT on your account. nice to see helpful community members taking part in this project Smiley

Thanks, already an impressive amount of HEAT leased to the pool indeed... Some small, some big but a steady flow of forged blocks at the moment and thus a steady reward for all participants! I do hope I can keep up with the additional lessors though, as well as the possibility that people start trading a lot (which hurts my daily manual check).

Anyway there seems to be a clear upward trend in the usage of HEAT and the AE, glad to be of help here as well!
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: HEAT Discussion and Technical info on: November 06, 2017, 07:06:54 PM
Tried forging to this pool. See whether we see some payouts since user is new. Will see at block 816060. Hope its not a scam. Actually more than 91,000HEAT on this wallet...

Cool to see the trial! My intentions are here to be of service, not of scamming anybody. I am surprised myself to see this heavy holders indeed not forging themselves, but that does not matter. Whenever you want your payout, send me a message in the heat wallet and I will process it asap (aiming for max 24 hours, but I'm only human  Wink).

Note that while I am new in here (at BCT), I am already a registered user from the start in the HEAT Slack, as well as the HEATledger.net forum.

If any further questions/concerns, let me know.
