1  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Universal smart contract programming language, like Terraform for the cloud on: May 09, 2018, 04:23:01 PM
Hi all,

Context: a team of ambitious cyberpunk entrepreneurs backed by Entrepreneur First. I and my colleague are doing some light research on SC (smart contracts).

We have identified a series of problems in the current crypto-dev world:

• There are many backward-incompatible updates (cough-cough solidity)
• Because of hypergrowth, core protocol devs aren't necessarily focused on creating a simple UX for devs (ie: see Terraform vs AWS)
• There are so many different SC platforms popping up, specific businesses and partners want to implement them, thus enforcing devs to read new docs every other week

To solve this, we are thinking to create a "write your SC once, deploy everywhere" tool. You could also call it Infrastructure-as-Code. We're simply curious if this is something you'd like to have, and if that's so please give me a shout at hello@paulrberg.com.

Cheers,
Paul

The simple fact that you can pin the site in the dock is huge for me and the peers I've been talking to, but of course I do understand it may not be something completely different for others. Still, the feedback is pretty good:

The idea is I wanted to develop a solid, scalable, but clean desktop app for CoinMarketCap. This is just version 1.0.0! There are many updates to come, all I did was to check if there's demand for it.

Hi guys,

Paul here, a 19 years old student who completely fell in love with the tech behind cryptocurrencies. After I read the whitepapers a couple of months ago, I invested in what I considered it had intrinsic value and since then things went well, hence I decided to give back to the community.

Check out CoinMarketCap for Desktop and track your favourite cryptos much more easily! You can also set to launch it on startup + there are many cool features on the roadmap, such as automated refresh and ability to set notifications when a specific price is hit. Not affiliated with the official website.

You can download it from here: https://coinmarketcapdesktop.com I will continue to work on the project, as much as my time will allow it, but of course the code is open source and anyone is able to contribute: https://github.com/PaulRBerg/CoinMarketCap-Desktop

Happy tracking,

Paul Berg
