1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining issue with GTX 1070 mining rig: NEED HELP PLEASE! on: November 01, 2019, 10:01:31 PM
  • After checking risers and power connectors on each riser.
  • Next I would run at stock with no OC or power settings on all 12 cards. with and without MSIafterburner running.
  • If still an issue, I would check the BIOS and see if it is up to date.  There was a memory issue back in 2016 with some 1070 cards.   https://forums.evga.com/EVGA-GeForce-GTX-1070-BIOS-Update-v8604500070-m2565056.aspx
  • Go back to an earlier version of the miner and MSIafterburner, sometimes newer versions have bugs in them.
  • Next I would check the cards of oil seepage.  I had one card that the pads they used to help prevent the overheating issues leaks oil and oil got onto the pci card pins and caused issues.  I cleaned it per EVGA.
  • I would then check power usage of the miners.  I had an issue once where an update for greatly improved performance but it drew twice as much wattage per card. could be that you don't have enough power to run all of them.
  • Try cards in different computer see if it causes issues.
  • Contact EVGA and ask for their help on a memory issue on one of your 3 cards in SLI mode erroring out.
  • RMA the card

Code:
[2018-02-03 10:45:24] FutureBit Write error: Permission denied

This error is because the miner temporarily lost contact with the USB port, this happens on cheaper hubs...especially if you have the sticks vertical mounted. The vibrations from the fans can cause the port to lose contact with the pins inside the USB connector. Unfortunately a USB disconnect is not recoverable and it would need to be unplugged/replugged.

okay this is a 4x PCI-e slot card to 2 USB ports connector that does 2A per port with a SATA cable connector for power. It worked great at first then started having this issues after about a month. I have been dealing with it rebooting the program every half hour.  I had a power outage last night and since then I have had issues.  So I will double check the connections and see if something came loose.

I ordered 2 Moonlander 2 and have them hashing. The problem is that no matter what I do one of the sticks have an error rate of 5-10%. I've tried modifying clock settings, different USB ports, different computers, powered USB hubs, etc.

One stick is <.5% error rate and the other is 5-10% consistently. I've gone as low at 600MHz and as high as 796 each with similar results.

I've purchased directly from the developer on eBay. Not sure if I have a defective unit or I need to tweak the pots maybe?

Interested to hear any ideas on how to troubleshoot this.

Try raising the memory and core voltage. Also some units do show higher error rate, but does not actually affect the hashrate (i.e. the uart controller sometimes spits out garbage, but all the "real" shares still come out properly). Are you also seeing a corresponding 5-10% drop in hashrate?

So the plot thickens (well not really... I think I just have a bad device).

These devices shipped with the following voltages Core: 0.714VDC  Mem: 0.771VDC. I changed them to their supposed defaults listed in the first post and was able to get it to Core: 0.751  Mem: 0.854. Now the error rate is consistent with the other 2 devices, except I constantly get these errors after a few hours:

[2018-02-03 10:45:24] FutureBit Write error: Permission denied
[2018-02-03 10:45:24] MLD 1: ASIC has stopped hashing, attempting to restart
[2018-02-03 10:45:24] FutureBit Write error: Permission denied

I've dropped the frequency from 756 (where the others are running happily) to 600 and all steps in between. I've been troubleshooting this for days and keep ending with the same result no matter which USB port or hub I use. I've run this thing solo, with the other two, basically every combination I've tried gets these errors.

Not sure what else to try at this point.

what hub and what pc or rasp pi?

I want to stress  that my setup is at 832  and just runs and runs and runs and runs

I am having the same issue, was there ever a solution?

If you are just running one and have at least 1 PCIe x4 (x8 or x16) slot you can try this. (I am running it on Windows 8.1 Pro. in a x16 slot.)  Two will not fit due to the width of the circuit board, but it is doing 2A to the USB slot. It says it will do 2A to each USB slot.

I average about 4,394 kH/s at 798 setting.

I have a non rig that I use gotomypc to access and then use TightVNC to connect to them on the same network. I do not have monitors connected to any of the GPUs on my rigs and I do not see any decrease in hashrates using TightVNC.

Yes, looks like string tied off on the two sides and possibly a box that the kit came zip tied on the other two sides in with the motherboard on top.

I think wood would work well.

I finally got a screen capture of the error I received that causes the miner to stop in windows 8.1

Code:
Accepted 001cd0d8 MLD0 Diff 32m/1m
Pool 0 stratum share submission failure
Stratum connection to pool 0 interrupted
Stratum from pool 0 detected new block
Stratum from pool 0 detected new block
Stratum from pool 0 detected new block

Pool information (I only have the one pool loaded)

Disabling and enabling the miner does nothing.

When it loses the stratum connection at the same time it has a submission failure it does not seem to restart mining, even when new blocks are coming.

I am having shutdown issues after 2 days of no issues running on Windows 8.1 Pro.  About every 4-6 hours.  I just rebooted the Rig to see if that helps. Also trying this out set for ever 4 hours to reboot the miner.

First Numbers at 756 Frequency getting 4.40Mh/s

My account was hacked frazier34567 I locked it when I noticed the email change.  I created this to let people know.  The only two things I can think they were looking to do is one get a hold of one of SP_'s private miners or trying to get people saying I am selling my FutureBit Moonlander2 and get them to send them coins for it.

The account was open for a few hours. Sorry about all of this.
