1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CrowdSale Ended]🌟🌟🌟🌟 NVO Decentralized Exchange | MultiWallet 🌟🌟🌟🌟 on: January 15, 2018, 05:44:55 PM
When the centralized is released through the wallet, will the trading fees from all pairs besides BTC/NVST go towards an initial dividend structure?  Or will the trading fees go towards further development for now?
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CrowdSale Ended]🌟🌟🌟🌟 NVO Decentralized Exchange | MultiWallet 🌟🌟🌟🌟 on: December 14, 2017, 03:52:48 AM
I think it's great that Nemgun takes the time to keep us up to date.  Now that the wallet's done hopefully there will be more updates as I know the community is awaiting to hear how the exchange development is coming.  It's also nice to see that NVST will be moving away from the counterparty exchange because the fees there are getting ridiculous and the fact that you can't even really buy XCP there.  In the near future I can see this exchange really taking off as others see that it is significantly better to use your own wallet as an exchange versus a centralized authority.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Genesis Mining contracts for ZCash - one year later on: November 30, 2017, 05:55:19 PM
How does this correspond with buying ZCash outright 13 months ago?  Shouldn't this be checked against a pure buy and hold on the benchmark (ZCash).  I wouldn't think that it could outperform based on the difficulty increases, but I could be wrong.  I'm actually currently mining ZCash on a 1070 and still getting decent returns per day, but it does seem like my money would be better invested if I had bought ZCash initially instead of a GPU.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CrowdSale Ended]🌟🌟🌟🌟 NVO Decentralized Exchange | MultiWallet 🌟🌟🌟🌟 on: November 30, 2017, 02:38:12 PM

if not, then where to go 70% of all our investments?
Yes. What do you think was going to happen with the remainder if they didn't deliver?

If this is the case, then investors really don't have much to worry about.  Actually the more surprising this is why the price is so low.  If the devs cannot deliver on their promises and the initial investments are returned, the prices are severely undervalued... Although I will say most of crypto is in a free-fall, so maybe NVO/XCP are just along for the ride. I know there are plenty of bugs involved in developing software, let's just hope that the team can integrate the wallet with the DEX somewhat seamlessly.  That would be significantly more important than dropping a wallet now.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: November 23, 2017, 07:45:28 PM
What kind of hash rate and power consumption do you get for the 1080ti?

How does this compare to the 1070 and 1060?

Is running a six GPU rig feasible?
6  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcointalk Account price estimator on: November 22, 2017, 04:48:58 PM
Does this website take into account the current value of bitcoin as it stands on let's say coinmarketcap?  I would think there should be a updating value to pull data from coinmarketcap to help estimate the value of the account in BTC.  Realistically, these accounts should be valued in terms of EUR/USD/other fiat to keep the price of the accounts less volatile. Over time, the value of the accounts should grow linearly and more stable due to activity, post quality, etc.
7  Economy / Speculation / Re: US Inflation on: November 22, 2017, 04:42:29 PM
Again like others I cannot seem to grasp how the inflation rate could be above ~2%, all market data tends to point to this.

Looking at FED data from the last 35 years (1982-2017), prices have increased by an average of 2.4x. This compounded yearly over 35 years yields: 2.5%.  Please someone explain how it is even remotely possible to have rates about 6-8%???
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Cash is King on: November 22, 2017, 02:58:54 PM
All any of these currencies are speculative investments right now. Unfortunately there's really nothing protecting the value of the assets because there are no tangible assets.  Bitcoin cash, bitcoin, ethereum, every single coin out there suffers from the same drawbacks.  Therefore, it is ridiculous to say one will perform better than another when you are at the mercy of a market which is irrational.  Once there are cryptocurrencies which actually function as a CURRENCY, and are not used as deflationary stores of value, many mainstreamers will begin to have more confidence in this field.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will you ask for a refund from Tezos? on: November 21, 2017, 05:19:37 PM
How much money did Tezos raise? I thought they had crossed all of their t's when they were setting up the IPO. After all, aren't two of the main people behind it from wall street, they should understand the laws and SEC governances.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CrowdSale Ended]🌟🌟🌟🌟 NVO Decentralized Exchange | MultiWallet 🌟🌟🌟🌟 on: November 21, 2017, 05:11:10 PM
Aren't the developers continuously working on something as we speak? Last I heard, Yanni was working on the wallet with other developers that they hired.  Nemgun is currently working on the validator development with another group of developers.  They have been testing the two pieces of software together and have found some things which would've set them back later in development. Therefore, they chose to fix the bugs and have the software readily available to work together earlier rather than later.  Yanni has been releasing pictures of the wallet and their progress.  Hopefully we will have a fully functioning wallet which supports 20 blockchain currencies soon.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CrowdSale Ended]🌟🌟🌟🌟 NVO Decentralized Exchange | MultiWallet 🌟🌟🌟🌟 on: November 19, 2017, 04:07:31 PM
Question though, when NVO finally implements the DEX, how will they handle the fiat to crypto conversion? Are they going to provide plugins to 3rd parties?

This is an important step for them because the lion's share of the volume is from fiat to crypto.  If they can implement cross-blockchain transactions, that's great, but they also need fiat conversion as well.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CrowdSale Ended]🌟🌟🌟🌟 NVO Decentralized Exchange | MultiWallet 🌟🌟🌟🌟 on: November 18, 2017, 04:55:41 PM
I think Migello hits this one on the mark.  His responses are succinct and given the current state of affairs with the facts that we know; I feel like his answers reflect NVO accurately.  Now, this doesn't mean that NVO is a slam dunk, they still may run into problems in the future regarding exchange development. It also doesn't mean that they can't just take the funds they have already gotten from escrow and disappear.  However, I don't believe that this is the case with the team as there as been hard evidence of a wallet on slack and skype.  They are still actively developing the wallet, perhaps we just need to give them the time that they need to work on it.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CrowdSale Ended]🌟🌟🌟🌟 NVO Decentralized Exchange | MultiWallet 🌟🌟🌟🌟 on: November 17, 2017, 07:38:34 PM
So what I gather so far here:

* The ICO was a shitshow due to poor instructions and guidance - the very first part of the project was a total clusterfuck
* NVO has missed - by large margins - every deadline or estimate they've given.  "Days away" has turned into months, for example.
* NVO has been terrible at communicating and has no central source of information or updates - and can't be bothered to update the one official place they have (their website)
* NVO has provided literally no proof of any work or accomplishments so far
* No one knows anything about any of the developers except that some are also involved in other similarly unfinished/non-responsive projects

Does that sum up where we are?

Outside of blind faith, what is the trust-in-NVO argument based on?  What have the developers shown you that suggests they can:

* Build the NVO exchange
* Develop an actual clientele and address the various customer service and other issues that will come up
* Make it profitable and bring in consistent revenues
* Reliably deliver the shares of profits to NVO Token holders

I actually thought the ICO was fine, people just can't follow directions in cryptoland.
Deadlines do tend to get missed in software engineering though, and they do have hard evidence of progress.
Their communication definitely could be better, maybe like a weekly update on the website or something.  Just a paragraph here and there would go a long way.
I've heard that there are more than just two devs on the project (they hired more with the ICO funds).
Hopefully they can bring everything you noted below to the table.

It's good to hear other perspectives, maybe we can get some others to chime in.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CrowdSale Ended]🌟🌟🌟🌟 NVO Decentralized Exchange | MultiWallet 🌟🌟🌟🌟 on: November 17, 2017, 05:37:05 PM
Where are all these fudders coming from? This is honestly ridiculous because the team is continuously active on slack. The last time ton was on slack (yesterday) he said the wallet would be released the next time he signed on. Theyre obviously working on the wallet and ran into a few issues which would become a problem when integrating the decentralized exchange. I think everyone needs to calm down and let the team do their work.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CrowdSale Ended]🌟🌟🌟🌟 NVO Decentralized Exchange | MultiWallet 🌟🌟🌟🌟 on: November 16, 2017, 11:51:45 PM
Ton did say that the next time he gets on slack, the wallet would be released.  When this will be.... who knows...
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Most Efficient GPU for Mining on: November 16, 2017, 10:05:41 PM
Does anyone have a computer setup with 6 1070s (motherboard, hard drive, ram, cpu)?
17  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: November 16, 2017, 05:43:41 PM
It is always a good idea to invest most of your savings into traditional accounts; equities, bonds, real estate.  You should keep a small amount of wealth in fiat for emergencies (medical, accident, etc.). As for crypto, it is probably a good idea to invest a small portion of your total liquid wealth because of the high volatility associated with cryptos.  If your employer has a 401k or other retirement fund, you should be utilizing those benefits to the fullest each year.  Traditional assets will outperform inflation yearly and consistently return growth on your funds on a yearly basis.
18  Economy / Speculation / Re: Your prediction of bitcoin price 12-31-2017 ????? on: November 16, 2017, 05:33:52 PM
I'm thinking a nice little crash before the end of the year:

BTC = $5500
19  Economy / Speculation / Re: US Inflation on: November 15, 2017, 05:38:21 PM

If this were the case then no one would be able to afford anything. Try compounding even 6% every year for 40 years... everything would cost 10x as much.  I can't find a scenario where their numbers actually make sense.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CrowdSale Ended]🌟🌟🌟🌟 NVO Decentralized Exchange | MultiWallet 🌟🌟🌟🌟 on: November 14, 2017, 10:23:26 PM
This is one of those coins I'll forget about it...and hopefully after 5 yrs gonna gain 500x of the current price  Smiley

If they can actually create what they claim is possible, yes.  The problem is that wallet has already slipped, who knows how far out the exchange is now...
