1  Economy / Gambling / Re: ▰▰▰ LUCKYGAMES.IO ▰▰▰ ✅ 5 Awesome Games ✅ 43 Cryptocurrencies ✅ Daily Contests on: December 22, 2017, 01:04:07 PM
Just posting here to say that I had a withdrawal issue (my fault, pasted my XMR deposit address into the withdrawal box by mistake) and support sorted it out very swiftly. Won't be making that mistake again, but it was dealt with in a professional and trustworthy manner. A+ would risk my money again.
2  Other / Meta / Is there a board on which I can advertise my bitcoin-related domain sale? on: July 15, 2016, 09:38:29 AM
I'm selling a bitcoin-related domain on an external website. I've tried selling it on here a couple of times with no takers. The 'marketplace' boards look like they're only for selling direct to other users in BTC which I don't want to do this time.

I would like to make people aware that I am selling the domain, but I don't want to break any rules. Smiley Is there a board on which it's OK to post this?
3  Economy / Auctions / Re: [AUCTION] bitcoin.me.uk on: April 14, 2016, 11:02:26 AM
Note: No sniping. Auction will end 30 min after the last bid placed, if that is later than the stated end time.
4  Economy / Auctions / [AUCTION] bitcoin.me.uk on: April 13, 2016, 12:52:33 PM
I have a few domains that I don't want any more. Here's the first one.

Description: The domain name: bitcoin.me.uk.
Starting bid: BTC0.4
Increments: BTC0.1
Buy it now: BTC3.5
End date and time: Wednesday 20th April, 12:00 BST (UTC+0100)
Payment methods accepted: Bitcoin
Additional information:

Expires April 2017

Will accept escrow if requested.

Sedo values this at £3,999 but I think that might be a bit high as .me isn't used that much (hence a lower buy-it-now price here). I originally had some kind of remittance service in mind for this (e.g. "bitcoin me") but I never got around to developing it.
5  Economy / Gambling / Re: DiceBitco.in - New Thread to Discuss on: September 17, 2014, 09:19:45 AM
It appears that they are somehow getting more people to invest in their bankroll. They had mentioned they would seek private funding for their bankroll in one of their last threads.

I would be curious to see if they ever get any kind of meaningful business again.

It's been a week since "Mateo" stopped playing. Since then, the site appears to have won 34 BTC from players.

That's better than most sites make in a week.

The live stats at the top of the page are somewhat out of whack with the actual bets taking place. I don't know if they're supposed to be an estimate or actually delivered over websockets or similar, but the number of bets on the tracker appears to go up much faster than the actual bets listed. -- Splitting hairs of course. It's been proved unfair, so detail is irrelevant.

FWIW, I was able to withdraw my measly remaining estimate of 0.3 without issue.

I have a sizeable investment which I can't withdraw. My standard balance is showing as the number I would expect, but the withdraw box says "you have 0.00000000 BTC"

Is this a cold storage issue?

9  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTCjam - Any Thoughts or Experiances on: April 09, 2014, 03:35:19 PM
Yeah yeah... noob-sock-accounts talking on how BTCjam is great is the proof that you should avoid this service.
I think I've been around here a while.

Take back your BTC before it's too late.
What are you waiting for ?

I realise I'm feeding the trolls here, but honestly I am OK with BTC Jam. I think there are some things that they really ought to do better, and I am hassling them about that. They need better transparency WRT how they follow up on late payments, they need better information on the state of play WRT active loans, and they could go a long way in improving their security. Also, their API is somewhat on the incomplete site. However, the product as a whole is an okay one and it could be excellent with a few tweaks. I'd call it a high risk investment right now, but good returns if you spend time picking your borrowers carefully.

They've had some VC funding now, so I'm hoping this works out for them and it improves. I think it's suffered from one-developer-with-a-day-job syndrome until now. They also responded pretty quickly to the heartbleed issue. Admittedly, coins were stolen but as far as I hear it they are being returned. And they had *finally* enabled 2fa not long before, so that mitigated it.

I'm currently up with both my investing and borrowing activity on BTC Jam. I think it's a great site.. However, that's not to say the site doesn't have its problems.

I actually put together a 'companion' site that scrapes all of the publicly-available data on 'Jam, and presents it in a more easy to read fashion. You can view it at http://jam.sd.ai/ - Along with other members of the community, I've tried to identify a few metrics that show good borrowing activity, and as a result help to identify good investments. (BTC Jam itself doesn't display data very well, and it's hard to discover what you need to know.)

On the back of this, I've invested a total of over 7 BTC, of which 4.8 has been paid back with interest, and only 0.01 is overdue. That's pretty good going. I've also managed to leverage my reasonable reputation to borrow amounts of BTC I wouldn't normally be able to get my hands on, and have been paying back on time.

The thing is, BTC Jam is set up to encourage you to scatter small amounts around a large pool of borrowers, but I find it's better to spend time researching the individuals involved, and investing larger amounts with those.

There are some things that the admins could do that would benefit, however. As far as I can tell, they don't take much action before the loan becomes officially "in default", which I think is ~180 days after the last overdue payment. (They can correct me if I am wrong about this.) -- In my experience from running a business, 9 out of 10 customers with overdue payments will cough up if you phone them and ask them to. BTC Jam have verified numbers for all borrowers, so this is really something they should be doing.

As I understand it, they're currently 4 people but have just got some VC funding so I'm hoping this will grow, and they'll be putting someone in whose job is to do collections. I'm pretty sure that will help.

There are scammers on the site, no doubt. But if you actually spend a little time checking up on borrowers first, you can usually avoid them.

Anyone else's hosted miner(s) offline?   Huh

Edit: Answering my own question with the link in the OP: http://eligius.st/~wizkid057/newstats/userstats.php/1FZBjyY878gjqJdg7r2D55uonN48mf3KFJ

Yes, other miners are also offline.
15  Economy / Services / Re: [open][Lee group,Round 3]3650$ 1T dragon Miner delivered in 29 March on: March 24, 2014, 08:23:32 PM
Just to say I've ordered another two in this batch. My miner from round 1 has been rock solid and I've had no issues with pcfli's hosting. Happy customer so far.

I'd be happy to look into this if you can provide me with the email you used, your full name, and order number, I've tried searching our ticket system for gh2k and can't find anything.

Thanks for looking into it. I've sent you a PM.
17  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: BitMain S1 $699 & U2's $39 | 1th/s units shipping [limited]| Minersource.net on: March 20, 2014, 12:16:35 PM
I've been having a bit of trouble with Minersource and I thought that given that I've been unable to resolve it by normal channels, I'd try posting here.

I bought an antminer S1 back in January, and pre-paid for 4 months hosting. It's been fine, apart from a few outages that have normally been resolved in a few hours. The miner disappeared from my pool about 8 or 9 days ago. I emailed support@minersource.net, as I usually do, and got a reply back the following day saying that there was a problem with the PSU and it was being replaced.

This was the last communication that I've had, and despite repeated emails to support@minersource.net, as well as PMs to bobsag3 on here, I haven't had an update as to what is wrong and why my miner is no longer hashing.

It's not unusual for minersource to not reply to emails, but these are normally new-business enquiries which they're obviously not interested in (although a little bit of professionalism in replying would be nice, although I understand they are busy) but this is the first time that I've had a technical problem that has remained unresolved.

I also offered that if they were unwilling or unable to continue to host my miner for me, then they could ship it to me instead. Again, this has not been replied to.

Minersource, bobsag3 and thomas_s are well known and trusted in the community, so I don't really understand why this has happened. I don't think that they are scammers, but it does feel like they may have bitten off more than they can chew, in regard to servicing all of their customers in a professional manner.

With luck, having pointed this out publicly I may get a response and hopefully a resolution to my issue, but I feel as if I have run out of options.

I bought 1 of these miners in a previous round and it's hashing with no problem so far.

I ordered 1 miner with pcfli. It is now up and hashing on my pool. Happy with that so far.
