1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin Core Wallet or Other? on: May 31, 2019, 06:26:46 AM
Am I correct in thinking that the Full Bitcoin Core wallet is the best, most secure wallet for Bitcoin? If so, can someone send me a link to a thread on it?  Does anyone recommend another wallet besides the Bitcoin Core wallet.

I'm actually using Jaxx and I am not interested in moving towards Jaxx Liberty.  But, I don't know which way to go.

I was thinking about a dedicated portable computer or virtual image for my wallets.

Thanks

I got two Radeon VII from AMD the Red 50 Year Anniversary Gold Edition. https://www.amd.com/en/products/graphics/amd-radeon-vii

When I run only 1 of them at stock settings, I get about 2900 h/s.

When I run both of them.  I only get about 3800 h/s.

I would expect about 5800 h/s.  What do you think is going on?

I am using XMRig AMD 2.14.1 with Windows 10.

It automatically compiles the config file. This is what it gives me.   See below:

I'm tempted to just take one out and run it in another PC.  But, there must be a way to get them to work at full mining speed together.

My junction temp is 85° now with two cards.  And before with only one it was around 95°.  So, with one, it was definitely working harder.

I also just noticed that GPU-Z reports my memory as Samsung.  Do you think that it is being reported correctly?  See Below:

I am getting the same error with Flypool.

SSL_connect failed r:2 error:14094410:SSL routines:ssl3_read_bytes:sslv3 alert handshake failure

What happened?

I tried the other ports with no success.

I have some other miners still connected to the pool and working fine.  But, not dstm.

It does appear that the heatsinks on the Z9 are different from the heatsinks on the Z9 Mini.

The heatsinks on the Z9 Full are one per 2 chips.  The Z9 Mini are 1 per chip.  It also appears to me, only from looking, not weighing.  That the heatsinks on the Z9 Full have smaller fins.  I didn't know Bitmain needed to worry about cost cutting.

Now, I'm thinking about removing the plate on the rear and adding another fan.  I'm not sure I want to change the heatsinks.  But, I know it would help.

Here are my most recent results.  It's only been 10 minutes, so we'll see.

If anyone knows what I have to do to get these images to show up in my post, please let me know.

When overclocking, what chip temps would you guys consider to be too high?

I'm seeing 66°C to 67°C at 700 MHz.

Of course, I have my fan set at 100%

I wonder if the chip heatsinks are smaller on the Z9 than the Z9 Mini.

My temps on the Z9 Mini, at 750 MHz are about 63°C

If that's true.  To really overclock these. We would need to make a hardware modification and heatsink the chips better.

My results:

I am planning on going higher with my Z9 Full, since my Z9 Mini Batch 1 is running flawlessly at 750 MHz.
