1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any good exchanges for a NY'er for alt coins? on: November 22, 2017, 05:00:37 PM
Most people buy ETH or BTC, move it to an exchange (Bittrex / Binance etc) and then buy any altcoin they please.

Coinbase's deposit limit does suck at the start so I feel your pain!
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 150$ to trade on: November 22, 2017, 04:23:43 PM
If you don't have the experience, it's likely you'll lose all your money. That being said, $150 is not much so if you do lose it, think of it has a $150 lesson. For an exchange, I'd recommend Bitrex to trade on but use Coinigy as they have better graphs to use technical analysis on. Good luck!

ICOs are a solid way to make money for beginners as long as you do the research.

Use sites like:

https://www.smithandcrown.com

https://www.towerrockresearch.com/

https://hacked.com/

Make sure you do your own research and come to your own conclusion. Do not follow what people say blindly!

Good luck!

You should get a great bonus from it but don't let that sway your decision. It is still an investment and so you should look at the quality of the company and the team and not focus on the potential returns.

Check your address on etherscan.io (if it's ERC20 wallet) and you will see if any of your tokens have been  removed.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which Altcoins will moon in 2018? on: November 18, 2017, 12:32:57 PM
0x (ZRX) no doubt. Bitfinex's decentralised exchange is being built on their protocol and they do around $300m volume a day
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Whats your promising ICO on: November 18, 2017, 11:12:56 AM
Quantstamp was a solid ICO but I think they have just reached their hardcap. Don't think of your loses as money down the drain but fees in learning what a good ICO is!
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which Coins are a great LONG-TERM investment ???? on: November 16, 2017, 12:20:12 AM
0x Project for sure! Decentralized exchanges are the future of crypto - even Bitfiniex which clears $300 million every day is building on top of the 0x protocol. Expect a hug pump at the very least when that announces in a month or two.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Good research website you use for ICOs? on: November 15, 2017, 11:29:32 PM
Looking to expand my list of places I learn about new opportunities in the market, be it ICOs, trades or just general crypto news.

So far I use:

https://www.smithandcrown.com

https://www.towerrockresearch.com/

https://www.coindesk.com/

Anymore would be great - thanks!

Like the internet boom on 1999/2000, many companies picked the 'low hanging fruit' first. This means that all the obvious ways that the internet could improve our lives were snapped up first eg marketplaces (eBay), payment (PayPal), search (Google), Social (myspace). Something similar will happen to blockchain technology where all the obvious ideas will be developed first, allowing a number of strong ICOs raise money. Once all the obvious ideas are taken, the quality of ICO market will slow down as it is much harder to create a unique company that uses blockchain technology that has not been already created.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How safe is exchange? on: November 12, 2017, 12:22:27 AM
Best to avoid leaving anything on exchanges long term. If you want to buy and hold, it's best to keep it in a wallet. Obviously if you trade frequently, it going to be most efficient to leave in on an exchange ready to buy/sell when the market is right.

MEW and Metamask are solid!
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Am I late to the party? on: November 11, 2017, 09:02:08 PM
I'm sure people said the same when they saw Bitcoin at $100 or when ETH was at $10. We've got a long way to go considering there hasn't even been mass adoption. Most people have only heard of Bitcoin and they only know the name, not the promising tech behind it and the other coins / tokens.
