Just to confirm, so they are going into chapter 11 which basically means what?
it means instead of mining you get an education in bankruptcy laws... perhaps that will pay off more in the end

We all expected to have a stabilized decreasing difficulty rate but seems that wont happen for next months.
What the heck is happening, is it maybe the adjusted Btc price?
just shows you the real markup of making ASIC hardware I think a few of us a month ago figured that KNC has around $80 cost per BTC at this point (all things considered) so why wouldn't everyone that has the means to pump out ASIC hardware keep pumping them out until the price goes below $100 or cost starts to ratchet up per BTC mined? that's another reason KNC was so happy to unload all their bottom barrel jupiters off their shelves.. those were the boards not pulling their full weight and also btc was low $400 at the time.. perfect to unload to desperate greedy dumb schmucks.. even if they gave out twice the amount to some folks those boards were headed to the trashbin anyway add to that some of these miner companies have junk miners that produce work but nary a block found... there is NO validation mechanism at this time on pools to weed out fugazi miners.. it is a case by case manual process so not only the small time miner getting squeezed out by the big dogs on hash ratio.. they are also having their public pools getting dead weight junk miners sucking up share payouts while decreasing the % luck of the pool while private pools run at normal luck you feel like a squashed bug on a windshield yet?

True. But things being equal rent and maintenance is more expenses.
We have a thread dedicated to Bitcoin miners colocation in the Mining forums. I did post a link a few post earlier. You only have to pay for power, not for rack space. what is 'another thread'? do you mean another web site? or another internet like facebook? i don't understand

I was thinking the other day it would be nice if we could set performance notifications, like idle notifications. So If I have a 1000GH miner, I could set it to report if it falls below 920 for more than 30 minutes.
I had an S2 module turned off (100GH) for more than a week before I noticed it, due to the variation of other reported miner speeds.
make every miner its own worker if you have a situation like a KNC jupiter that drops its OC then you have to make something on your end watching that performance drop

Am I the only person who finds this endless "whale" stuff both boring and paranoid? Nobody ever gives a plausible explanation as to who these whales are supposed to be or how they are able to manipulate prices to their advantage. All you ever get is arm-waving, ranting and metaphors. It's all very conspiracy-nuttish and unpersuasive.
go take a walk down gold manipulation lane and come back mmmkay?

bitcoin could already have their little 'London Gold Fix' club where they sit around on a conference call twice a day deciding on what range they want to set the price
the point is, you ain't in that club whether it exists or not

remember kids... no need for 8 VRMS!!! it is overkill.. totally excess and will never be used
I had two a 4 VRM Jupiter that worked and fine and is still going strong according to the guy I sold it to, clocked to 640GH and ran at that speed 24/7 from the day I bought it. I still have one November Jupiter thats hashing at over 830GH/s in the summer heat and doesn't skip a beat. do you know how to make a point?? ok, I'll extract one for you.. that 4VRM toad is stuck at 640GH and if you OC it way over spec you clear 700Gh while the 8 VRM designed board clears 830 without a sweat.. same fucking ASIC chip right?

How many days or month Want from waffer to have the complete nepture miner does anyone know??
Took CT about a month from wafer to completed chip. After that they will need to be tested and tweaked. Mid July maybe? tested?? that's the customer's job tweaked? only for the ones in the datahall

Hey, does anyone know how to tell which electrical outlets are on the same circuit? Is there some kind of tool out there you can buy that you can plug in one outlet then go around to each other outlet and when it sees that other plug it will light up or something? When my house was built the electricians did a SHIT job, but since I switched from central AC to window AC I have some power to play with but want to make sure what outlets are on what breaker. I know they messed up because a couple outlets in my living room go out at the same time ones go out in my office. And that's two room away. Unless that's the way it is done? I was NEVER any good at electricity. Horrible at it.

if you get Alon on the phone and he actually has what you want in stock you are good.. but it might be mostly group-buy based ordering like many small outfits.. no one wants to sit on 500 items in stock with the prices falling like rocks

So will the gold bugs start fleeing the ship and buy some BTC? No way. Gold bugs are all about the physical. Their 40 year scenarios involve a global meltdown and general SYSTEM FAILURE, a "gold" that requires a functioning internet and power system would be laughable to them. at least they won't be able to post on blogs that their 10 year daily prediction of doom finally came through.. if they hate the internet so much why do they yap the most on it?

Dead die?
This is an October Jupiter that's been running from 24/7. Noticed I have a dead die. I already increased the SPI voltage all the way up to 3.3V and it wouldn't kick it on. Then I slowly increased the individual die voltage to the MAX, which is +.1465. Didn't awake up the die either. Is there anything else that can be done to kick this die on? I would really thought that the rig would last a lot longer then 8 months.
it's dead and bloody fucked RMA it and they'll send it back with 3 dead dies.. same board!!

Isn't it wise to use debt to invest if you know you can pay it off if shit hits the fan? For example instead of selling one assets such as silver to buy btc, use debt to buy btc and now you have double the amount of assets working for you and if bitcoin fails then you sell your silver to pay off the debt and it's accumulated interest.
Considering the risk/reward ratio with bitcoin, i think it's a bet worth taking.
and if you have 0% to no interest loans then you can always rollover to another one and just pay the service costs

how unwise is it to take up a loan to buy some coins now?
It is always a bad time to use debt to invest, never do it. huh?? the entire stock market run up since ZIRP was fueled by that practice

So I put my Kill-A-Watt meter on 1 of my 2 EVGA 1000W PSU's. The meter is reading 1050W, but the web gui only shows that the rig is using 1450W. Why is that PSU maxed out?
is that the PSU that is also powering the control board? those watt reading you see are only for the chip not everything else like fans, control board and the psu itself

You guys have been spoilt by the era of easy money in bitcoin mining and have lost the faith. Time to turn it over to the next generation !
It was not that easy. You fucking kids have it all easy now with your fancy asics. In my day we used a CPU or GPU to mine BTC, and we liked it! Meh, thats nuthin! I'm still running mechanical miners. My secret is tapping into bio engines for power. I get about 1 Gh/s per gram of gerbil food/day. It took a while to smooth out my system but once I designed power wheels that self adjusted for the pregnant gerbils, my farm stabilized. My current/only issue is with health monitoring, they don't type too well. I had initially thought it was an issue with toenails. My experiment with abrasive wheel surface to mitigate toenail growth and improve communication was a disaster. I almost did not notice the pink hue of the pool water in time. Currently running 308th generation miner. The ASIC folks are still on gen 2-3 BTW! Ahhhhhh, the acrid smell of sucess! as usual YMMV I hear average chinaman so good at math they hash by hand much faster than ASIC.. they laugh and sell miners to stupid roundeyes

290X is just a showpiece.. better to just use the 290's or 280x
they squeezed more performance out of the 290x with way more heat and power use

I don't see much chance of ever being able to resell them.
ask KNC, they seem to be experts
