1  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS US-VA] Selling 3 - GIGABYTE - AORUS NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 1080TI Cards on: May 30, 2018, 06:16:05 PM
Love these cards and its a pretty reasonable price, especially if they are new in the box and never mined.  They are, correct?

Butka - Doesn't Nemosminer charge a developer fee?  I'm trying to get this up and running without fees (or as minimal as possible), to begin with.  Then it makes it easier to understand exactly the value a fee-based program brings to my setup.  I'm not against developer fees, I just like to know what I am paying for.

My start.sh file is pretty simple:

./ccminer -r 0 -a equihash -o stratum+tcp://us-east.equihash-hub.miningpoolhub.com:12023 -u USER.020212 -p x

Butka- Thanks for jumping in.  Are there any configuration options I need to add to utilize switching?  How often does it check to see if another algo is more profitable?

No one?  I can't be the only one with this problem.  OR, its so incredibly simply to answer that I am just the biggest idiot ever.  Both are possible, one seems less likely than the other (you choose which...).

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / CCMiner/MPH configuration help - Linux on: April 26, 2018, 05:59:25 PM
I am working on setting up my configuration files for a linux application of ccminer.  It runs fine when I run single algorithm from the command line, so I know the program is installed correctly and operational.  I am trying to follow the Mining Pool Hub (MPH) instructions to create a batch/sh file with all of the algorithm outlined so MPH and ccminer can do their also switching thing.  I've created a sh file and entered in the ./ccminer... command line options, pool info, etc.  Once I make it executable and run it ccminer will start with equihash (the first in the list).  However, it is much MUCH less stable than just starting it by command line (with the same options, pool, etc.).  Plus, it stays on equihash the entire time, with no indication it is also switching or thinking about also switching.  Now, this is an all NVIDIA rig (4 1080ti, 2 1080), so equihash is likely the most profitable at any given time.  How can I be sure that A) its running/switching correctly and B) achieve the same stability as a pure command line start?

Do I need to add some commands into my sh file that tells is to switch, or just list out commands as if they were to be executed at the command line?
Should I be doing this through the ccminer.conf file instead?  Does it allow multiple algorithms?

Thanks,
Brad

How many do you need?  I have a few I can let go of.

Below is a link to two photos of the cards with my username and the current date. What else can I do to get you comfortable that these are legit, in hand, and ready to go? Smiley

Just a quick bump to let folks know these are still available.  I thought we had a buyer, but they either couldn't or wouldn't come up with the funds when the time came.  You have to love humanity...  Smiley

I've got some great, New in the Box, EVGA SC2 Hybrid 1080 ti cards that I am looking to sell.  At one point we were looking at doing some water cooling at our farm and have decided to remain air cooled.  These cards were not used in testing and have never been out of the box - still in the shrinkwrap.

I'm happy to do PayPal or an Escrow (at buyer expense).

If you've got questions or want them, just ask.

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / GPU rig design and cooling at scale on: February 11, 2018, 04:52:49 PM
Our farm has outgrown our initial space and we are soon moving to a new, much larger, location.  With all the pains this brings, it also gives me a chance to rethink my rig design and cooling strategy.

So, currently, I've been building 8 card rigs in their own angled aluminum cages and those cages sit on wire rack shelves.  2 cages fit on a shelf and each shelving unit has 6 shelves - 12 rigs per shelving unit.  These are your typical design with MB and PSu on the bottom and a row of cards on top of them.  We have a big 36" exhaust fan and a fresh air intake that keep them relatively cool - +/-70c.  Other than that, we have not gotten into hot aisles and cool isles.

For the next location, I am wondering if there are any advantages to scrapping the cages and directly mouting the cards to the wire rack shelving.  And if I do that, are there any advantages to hanging them (DVI/HDMI inputs up, power plugs down) from the wire racks (vs long rows of cards all with their HDMI end facing out). Hanging them would put the HDMI side of the card directly under the MB of the rig on the shelf above it.

The warehouse itself will still have exhaust fans (+/-15 CFM per rig) and fresh air intakes, but no other mechanical cooling (ie air-conditioning).  We'll have multiple rows of shelving units and I need to be sure each rig on each shelving unit is getting fresh air across its fans.

Does anyone have any thoughts or best practices on how to set this up in an efficient way?  This will be in a wide open space of about 4,000 SF (50'w x 80' l).

Thanks in advance!
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Rig & ASIC monitoring software solutions? on: January 31, 2018, 10:41:13 AM
I have a farm that runs both ASIC's and GPU rigs and am looking for a new monitoring software that has some pretty decent reporting functions.  Currently, I am using AwesomeMiner and it is OK.  However, I am trying to get it to play nicely with some Linux GPU rigs I have in the mix and it doesn't want to.  It's more than happy to monitor them if they are running ccminer and a few other more ASIC-oriented miners, but not some of the more essential GPU ones like Claymore.

To add to the difficulty, it needs to have fairy robust reporting capabilities for our monthly investor reports.  Hashrate, uptime, which pools were mined and for how long, power usage, etc. are some of the stats we pull and distribute.

Does anyone have any suggestions for software (paid or open source) that can handle a wide range of devices and operating systems.  We have a dedicated mining monitor computer, so it doesn't also need to do any mining (aka Minera).  Miner pool control and profitability switching (or just notification) would be great, but not entirely necessary.

Thoughts?

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / D3 hardware errors - time to send it back? on: January 19, 2018, 03:52:13 PM
One of my Antminer D3's generates a ton of hardware errors.  For example, right now its running at 19.4 GH/s, with 2,959 accepted and 71,957 hardware errors (over a 17 hour period). When I log directly into the machine I've got all "o's" and no "x's".  Plus, I've updated to the latest bit main firmware and still have these issues.  Is it time to send this back and try and get bitumen to repair it? Is it really hurting my performance that much, or is it just an annoyance?

Thanks,
Brad

ZtotheB - I tried to send you a message, but apparently I am too much of a newbie.  Sorry.  In any case, my company would be able to help you. Please send me a PM and I will reply with an email address and we can take this offline.

Thanks,
Brad
