just do whatever makes you happy    Grin

if I were you though, I would get better rigs, and get your hash rate more than 9,000 (hehehe) if you consider mining to be a serious business

if it's just a hobby then its ok, mine whatever you want   Cheesy

this vxvc sounds like an idiot who either don't understand the rules or don't care about the rules, and when he thought he was griefed, he decided to go ballistic by saying he knows Anonymous and friends.

13  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you think getting specialized mining hardware is worth it? on: June 26, 2013, 03:03:54 AM
I'm confused...

If it's a hobby, I wouldn't even care about ROI, I'd just spend enough to amuse me.

From your post, I'm guessing it's still a business, and not really a hobby. Well then, you're late to the ASIC party. If you were to order one now, you would probably get it six months later, and have to compete with all the other ASICs that has been running for 6 months, driving difficulty up sky high... which means that you'll be extremely lucky to break even at all; if the price of btc increases in a linear fashion...

In which, to answer your question, yeah, I'd spend a few thousand bucks buying a couple of metal/plastic bricks for my hobby.   Grin Cheesy

GPU mining will never die!  Cheesy

Basically, once btc difficulty hits the roof, switch to ltc.

When ltc mining stops being profitable, switch to either:
a) GPU-based Render Farm
b) Distributed Computing Simulator for Cancer Research
c) Password Cracking
15  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How does the bitcoin client verify that an address has enough coins... on: June 26, 2013, 02:28:16 AM
Thank you for the reply.  Just fascinating.

So when I'm running bitcoin-qt, not only do I have the blockchain downloaded to my harddrive,  I also have the entire UXTO list (not just the UXTO that relate to me).  I guess it builds that list itself as it downloads the blockchain initially?

yeah, the first time you synchronize it download the whole block. it resynchronizes every 10 mins and only download the latest block.
16  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 250 FREE FastCoin's CONTEST! on: June 26, 2013, 02:25:21 AM
You seriously need a market.

The whole point of cryptocurrency is to buy and sell stuff.

If you put up a market -nothing fancy, no need to go ebay on it, just a wall with stuff for sale in fastcoin- I guarantee you,

this coin will get adopted really fast by the community and exchange <- (I made a pun  Cheesy)

this vxvc sounds like an idiot who either don't understand the rules or don't care about the rules, and when he thought he was griefed, he decided to go ballistic by saying he knows Anonymous and friends.

When did he say that? What's Anonymous have to do with our thread here? Is there any proof to these allegations? The entire chat log is displayed above, please point out where those threats come into place. Could it be that you didn't actually read it and jumped on false conclusions?

It seems that the guys at JackpotDice must have had some previous quarrels with somebody who might have said that and, unprofessional as they continuously seem to be, jumped the wagon by mixing apples and oranges, creating an invisible foe who threatened them with an army of hackers and bringing it in this thread here, with no proof of talking about the same users.

Bring on the swords and tinfoil hats! Where's my dragon?

you are bad loser trollolol! just learn how to play the game properly next time lol
