As advised I am trying to learn the basics of crypto first.
Most of the suggestions mention investing in top ranked coins. My question is, does it always work? As far as I understand, the market is vulnerable and affects almost all the coins from top to bottom. How then you determine which ones would stay ?
I invest in the top alts + the alts in the top 150. these are certainly good businesses and many of them have products and are in the process of developing. This is a good opportunity to buy the potential alts at a cheap price and hold it. |

I've been hearing this for a while until it really happened to me ,I was promoting a bounty project and after a week I decide to check my spreadsheet to see if I've been approved or not ,well guess what I found? Someone else signed up for the bounty using my btt account info excluding only my wallet address ,swapped with another ETH address.
This is another tricks some scammers are pulling on this forum, getting someone to work for them while they sit back and get paid for work they never do.
Always make sure you check the spreadsheet of the bounty project you are promoting from time to time,who knows? You might be the next victim.
This warning is especially for newbies ,I bet they don't know that something like this can be put in motion so be careful.
I have encountered a lot of such cases. but after discovering it, I told the bonus manager and he solved it for me. I think projects should have PoA to avoid such scammers and we also need to check the spreadsheet regularly. |

The way they usually work is they give you some string and you sign it to prove you own the address.
Could a malicious air drop make a transaction sending all your BTC to them, and then you sign it, and then they broadcast it to the network?
Or is signing a message different than signing a transaction?
No, that will not happen. Bitcoin transactions will not require a signature, the word needs private key or key store to log in to the wallet and start trading. they are not important about signature forms, they are important about the personal information you provide, especially the passport. |

I threw ~$100 into the 10 highest gainer coins on binance (not sure what the time pera mete was).
Anyway after doing this, the value has fluctuated between ~8-12mbtc, is this a good way to get a feel for the market and use as a fairly stable investment or did I just get lucky. This would obviously be done for a short term and you'd only ever put in when it reached the 8mbtc mark again (or at least sub 9).
I'm wondering if I ended up getting lucky on this or whether it will actually function as an investment idea, these coins seem pretty stable short term and don't seem to move by much? I knowforex sites list the biggest gainers and losers but I'm not sure if that's just a plot to say you can earn 3% in a day...
This is considered a short-term strategy and I have done the same for the Huobi Exchange. When two exchanges are trying to pump coins to prove their financial ability and credibility, it's a good time to buy lots of coins and hold for 1-2 weeks. at huobi, their pump coin every night, and knowing the rules, I set a profit margin of 17% per coin and almost sold all the coins at a high price. I will repeat, it is a short-term strategy and investment diversification is also a bad thing for a new trader. |

Came back to the thread after a long time hoping that DECENT's price couldn't have gotten any worse than the previous price level of 1700. They are now just trading at 433 sats? What happened here?
It seems that the team is no longer interested in the value of the token or they do not have a good enough profit to increase the price of the token. Decent has caused fever in 2017 but now it has sunk deep into the ocean. I think this is the time for us to leave this token. |
