If you enable "accept all odds" it will always allow for your bet to be placed during times of odd change volatility. I hope that helps you in the future.
2  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - 2 Million+ in Xmas Giveaways | Watford & UFC Partner ⚽ 🥊 on: December 29, 2021, 12:21:01 AM
The API seems to show that your actual target multiplier was 1.14:
~snip~
It's really weird that the frontend displays 1.13, but it's likely just a rendering bug. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense for Stake to try to cheat over $2 bets. Do you happen to remember what multiplier you were going for at the time?
I am guessing there could be some rounding out error? ~
~ I checked mine all and they seem fine, but here we are with a proof of one guy not getting fair results, so they should make the announcement and defense against this.
How the games actually works there! I have also observed some unusual result while I'm setting the target multiplier from 1.13× to 1.16×. To make it clear, when I'm setting the target multiplier at 1.13

The bet details shows
  • Multiplier: 1.13×
  • Target :1.12×

The multiplier and target shows correctly in their bet view model if my target multiplier is out of 1.13× to 1.16× range. But their system shows 0.01× less target when I'm inputting the ‘target multiplier’ in that range.

I have also made a video while I was checking this out. If you haven't understood my above statement then see this video to realize it properly: https://youtu.be/59p-0yjQ88M

Edit: I just asked their support and they said, it is a visual glitch and it will be fixed soon

This is a fun one! This problem is actually based on how your browser does its maths, coupled with how we round numbers on the frontend.

We use the following equation to visually ensure all our numbers on limbo are rounded in a visually pleasing manner (to two decimal places.)

Code:
const getFloorMultiplier = (num) => (Math.floor(num * 100) / 100).toFixed(2);

With regards to why this showing different to what is expected for the instances expressed:

Quote
This fails because the internal floating point representation of 1.13 is very slightly less than 1.13 - multiplying that by 100 doesn't produce 113 but 112.99999999999998578915 and then rounding that down takes it to 1.12.

You can test this by opening your console in the browser (right click anywhere screen > select 'inspect' > choose 'console')

From there you can type in the following:

Code:
1.13 * 100

As you can see we get the following results.

When put all together, this is the result:

If you try with the numbers expressed above, you will find that it also spits out an absurd result for the instance of 1.16 too. Rest assure that this is just visually rendered incorrectly based on your browser and has no actual influence or affect on the result of your bet. I have whipped together a slight edit in the codebase that will consider target multipliers already rounded, which should technically solve the visual discrepancy experienced.

  • We generally have more banned jurisdictions than other sites as we operate within the guidelines of our license (betfury don’t even have a valid license? see figure 1 below)

Firstly BetFury does have a valid license.
Secondly, these are your blocked geos:

https://stake.com/policies/terms

With all due respect, these are not many "more banned jurisdictions".
I will list these for you: US, Curacao, Syria, Iran, Korea, Netherlands, UK, Australia, Portugal, Serbia, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Lithuania and France.

Not underestimating the value of these geos but we have lots of users from outside of these jurisdictions and still the numbers don't make sense.

Good find, we haven't updated our banned jurisdictions in our ToS. I'll get onto that.

Our correct banned jurisdictions are:

Quote
Australia, Belarus, Cote D’Ivoire (Ivory Coast), Cuba, Curacao, Czech Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, France, Iran, Iraq, Liberia, Lithuania, Netherlands, North Korea, Portugal, Serbia, Slovakia, Sudan, Syria, United Kingdom, United States or Zimbabwe

It's also important to note that there are a couple countries and ISP's globally that block stake.com

For those instances (the list is pretty long these days), we suggest that players connect via one of our mirror sites which can be found here: https://playstake.io

For the sake of your tests, maybe you will have better results using a mirror site url, versus the parent domain. As to the claims that we are shaving leads, thats just ridiculous. Our product relies on successful affiliates, such as yourself, to drive our product. It wouldn't be productive or effective to tarnish our relationship over, we want to work with you, not against. The problem here is that there is actually nothing wrong with our system, so we can't help you and thats not acceptable apparently.

Hello, I’ve had a quick look into your issue and I can confirm a few things, based on how I know the site works for us versus how it works for competitors.

  • Hits and referrals dont count if the user is using a VPN or already registered on the site. (even if they log out and then register a new account)
  • If the referred users hits the page from a banned jurisdiction they do not count at all for hits.
  • We generally have more banned jurisdictions than other sites as we operate within the guidelines of our license (betfury don’t even have a valid license? see figure 1 below)
  • Without disclosing private information, the user you have referenced already had an existing account on stake, which is why their referral didnt register under your campaign. If you want to have a discussion with them, I’m sure they will verify this statement. (see figure 2 below)

I hope this helps clarify your concerns. Enjoy your day!

6  Economy / Gambling / Re: ⚖️ Crypto Gambling Foundation ⚖️ - Fair Gambling For All on: May 31, 2019, 02:00:06 PM
Personally, I found this site to be useful. I think this forum will be able to provide detailed and effective information about the crypto currency. There is also a free membership here, it is definitely a good thing.

This project would be super useful. Unfortunately we do not have much time to dedicate to it yet. To make it to its full potential of what it could be.

Bitvest i think did not want to cooperate with CGF members so they got removed. Dont quote me on that though but i think that is the reason.

Also guys if you like this idea there is also one rly cool site that checks provablyfair casinos. You can see checked list there with reviews and also they have rly good verifiers where you can check your bets for fairness.

Site is: www.provablyfair.me

We are currently working with bitvest to ensure they meet our minimum standards required to be part of the network. They have a great product and great community. Just need a few things resolved before they can be re-established.
7  Economy / Gambling / Re: ⚖️ Crypto Gambling Foundation ⚖️ - Fair Gambling For All on: May 31, 2019, 12:46:12 AM
Good question, could someone explain why Bitvest is no longer on that list? I'm almost 100% sure I remember it being. And I played there before too, don't recall any bad blood with any players there. It would be really cool to update the list with when they got membership, when (if) revoked and reasons for those. Transparency and all that.

Thanks for the feedback. Will update all relevant details in the new thread going forward

How does the Crypto Gambling Foundation ensure that customers will not get scammed?

How does the Crypto Gambling Foundation enforces claims after a customer was scammed?

BetKing is on your list and scammed many customers, how did you enforce those claims?

Betking is not on our list, nor is apart of our supported operators.

Feel free to learn more about CGF here: https://cryptogambling.org/

Any questions you raised above are already answered.

Bet king is on the first post of this topic as a “current member”. I just came to say that  having them on the list makes your site about no% trustable.  Way to go (and not even notice them on the front page first post).  Your attention to detail is reassuring

The person who posted that, did it to help during the induction process for our service, and was part of the stake/primedice team. Unfortunately I don't have access to that account as it wasn't me and can't update on their behalf.

To avoid confusion going forward, I will create a new thread and use it to keep everyone informed with the bi-annual discussions and meetings held by all the verified operators on the network.

10  Economy / Gambling / Re: Seuntjies DiceBot -Multi-Site, multi-strategy betting bot for dice. With Charts! on: December 03, 2018, 03:40:30 AM
Hi Seuntjie,

Just reporting that I'm getting the following error when betting. Not too sure whats causing it.

I also have a question, how does the bot speed setting work? I've heard that there's issues with the speed for sites which have rate limits such as primedice and stake, but I haven;t been able to speed up the bot enough to hit it yet.

We have seen a huge amount of people trying to abuse the trust of others through downloading rogue chrome extensions or even just socially engineering details from telegram. Our recent addition to security was the vault and hopefully this helps protect our players form such blunders xD

I hate reading things like this. It's just some foolish hype without any merit. There are a lot of companies on markets in the world that have never recovered from their all time peaks.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Am I pessimistic or is bitcoin still over hyped? on: November 23, 2018, 05:47:43 AM
You are not alone in your sentiments. There are times when I cringe hard from posts that completely ignore the current state of the market and believes nothing and accepts no any other opinion that is more plausible than their own. I get that some people are permabulls, but there are times that it's slowly being annoying to the point that it does not show any sense at all. Bitcoin will never address wealth inequality head-on, but it will help; bitcoin will not replace the current financial system but it will exist with it side-by-side; lastly, bitcoin's growth isn't measured by its price alone but also infrastructures and people surrounding it.

You are not a pessimist, you are just being sensible, and that's perfectly fine.

It's good to read that I am not alone. I cringe a lot, especially as of late. The sad thing is I used ot get all caught up in the hype without doing proper research or even just evaluating the article. It's very easy to be bias towards one thing when you're so heavily invested into the concept.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Am I pessimistic or is bitcoin still over hyped? on: November 23, 2018, 04:53:21 AM
some people have always been FUDing and some other people have always been Hyping bitcoin. these days that price is making a move the both groups are actively at work! although it is surprising to me that you have only seen the hype since with a quick look at this board or on some news sites you can see that the majority of the posts are negatively FUDing bitcoin.

as for being "over hyped", the answer is no. the hype w as over about 9 months ago when the bubble burst and the price corrected itself by dropping more than 60% and the majority of hyped up newbies with weak hands who wanted to become rich overnight left the market.

now bitcoin is under-valued.

Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places, but I'm confident that I am still seeing a vast majority of hype towards crypto, that really hasn't ever subsided. Perhaps, the problem might also be that crypto news sources are from specifically crypto based sites and subreddits and not financial or real world sources.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Am I pessimistic or is bitcoin still over hyped? on: November 23, 2018, 04:48:00 AM
Bitcoin was definitely over hyped in it's peak last December-January. Right now though? It's quite debatable. I still see bitcoin as a new technology that can definitely helped the unbanked billions of people worldwide. But do you know what's surely overhyped? The cryptocurrency markets. We still see a lot of coins and tokens that doesn't do much that are worth millions of dollars in marketcap(yes, I know marketcap as a statistic is quite inaccurate, but you get my point). While it's quite debatable that some of them could definitely work and be useful in the future, they're still worth too much. I mean, take a look at Tron and EOS! I don't even know why they're in the #6 and #11 spot. That's to be expected in a quite unregulated market I guess? A lot of clueless people just throwing their money in and shilling their coins/tokens as if their lives depend on it.

Bitcoin or the cryptocurrency markets in general does definitely look like a ponzi scheme sometimes especially if you're new, and I can't blame them for that. We always see a lot of people on social media shilling their coins and tokens like there's no tomorrow as if the coin/token their holding is like sort of the solution to poverty or something; so in a way, the greater fool theory could actually apply I think. But if you look at bitcoin as a technology, and what it's trying to achieve while ignoring the prices, you'd be amazed. The first time I realized what bitcoin is actually for, I barely slept because I was so overwhelmed and amazed. No exaggeration.

I still find it hard to suggest to friends and family to buy in right now. I also didnt encourage them to buy during the hype either. I don't see a value entry point until the $2k mark, and wouldn't reccomend anyone enter until it hits closer to that level.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Am I pessimistic or is bitcoin still over hyped? on: November 23, 2018, 04:13:11 AM
Disclaimer: I don't own any crypto currently, and haven't done so for a few months now. I left the market in profit, and haven't been able to appropriately value bitcoin since, so haven;t made a new entry yet.

Ok, first of all, I know this is going to be an unpopular opinion on a Bitcoin forum, but here goes.

Every time I first sit down at my computer each day, I trawl through the relevant cryptocurrency related subreddits, news sites and of course this forum. Day in and day out, without missing a heartbeat, I see a flood of incredibly optimistic hype posts relating to crypto and its future success. Whether it's the age old comparison between the bitcoin price a few years ago compared to today to the ever popular debate about it solving all the financial problems in the world, the content never ends! I'm struggling to actually determine if I'm burnt out from all the talk over the years or if its actually a real problem formed by a large following of overly delusional bitcoin fanatics who aggressively believe that bitcoin is the be all and end all solution to all the worlds problems. I can't help but feel the more and more I get involved with crypto, the more and more I feel like it's just a well orchestrated ponzi scheme, that has a large amount of people fooled into believing it's their gateway to a better world and financial freedom.

Does anyone else share similar feelings, or do I need a break from crypto to level my head? I am not saying that bitcoin isn't a revolution, I'm saying that its being pushed by brainwashed people far beyond the extent of its appropriate reach.
