Yes @stelee68, I couldn't agree more with you on that statement. It's important to remember to not over extent your crypto buying habits, or investments, beyond what you may be comfortable losing. The market goes up, the market comes down... there's a saying "What goes up, must come down" as in reference to a hot air balloon probably.

Well some of the projects out there are just that, full of nothing but hot air!
If you believe in $GENX, and the Genesis project and team then that is a good reason to invest wisely here but don't throw your whole paycheck in or borrow money to do so.

Always good to see so many updates and coin listings for DeepOnion. As a community we have grown leaps and bounds over the last year regardless of how the value has wound up among all alt coins atm.

This is a terrific idea, and I am glad I came across this writing of using paper wallets in this manner. It is actually extremely similar to an idea I have had in my head for about 6-8 months now and never did get written down or discussed even; so congrats on such a great concept!

I had been thinking about how to introduce a new coin project to the industry, such as at a conference or seminar, a live meet up and not an online event where along with some promotional material on basic facts about a coin and project participants would also receive a pre-loaded paper wallet. So this would go hand in hand with a flyer about the coin stats, all of the contact information namely the website and/or forum for the project and perhaps the links to the ANN Bitcointalk.org page and Twitter page.

As mentioned in this article, which I had not gotten far enough on my idea to plan other outlets of distribution, this can be transmitted electronically as well in a common email. The main difference is I was attempting to create a take away sheet with wallet that would be incentive enough for the user to check into the information about the project and if nothing more to find out about any coins received as a freebie in the paper wallet hand outs.

Random Amount of Free Coins vs Wasted Coins

The last part I tried to figure was how to, or whether to, indicate the amount of coins that are in each wallet but the amounts would range between the values received by a faucet to a higher value in a few "surprise" wallet pieces. As the idea is to acquire new members, and or at least drive traffic to the website, I thought it best to not have the amount or value readily available without first signing into a website, that can be a page of the standard site or a separate website like a faucet page. I also thought about scratcher codes, where the user can scrape off a layer and reveal the amount, like a type of lottery ticket but that likely would get expensive to print for a start-up, unknown coin.

The idea of having to go claim the coins first, whether by entering information into a designated website or by downloading a a full wallet and then attempting to collect them would be to avoid printing paper wallets with monetary values already fixed to the addresses from being wasted; to prevent printing money that is thrown away. The other concern would be how to limit or control the amount of funds, or the amount of paper wallets that can be redeemed by a single individual (as if passed out at a conference - to prevent hoarding of the paper wallets).

Claiming the Coins

So the public address could be used, without any additional "secret code", to first enter into a form to ensure that the address had not already been claimed. Some simple calculation would occur on the blockchain such as the address entered equals zero, or has no transaction record, and that would receive a "valid" reply. If the address had a balance that was not equal to zero the returned response would be "invalid". There would not actually be any coins on the paper wallet addresses at this point. Therefore no money wasted as the paper wallets would not be pre-loaded, but rather the addresses would associated to a specific, or random, "prize amount"; which means it might very well lookup another database of just the handout paper wallets and not necessarily the blockchain.

A second user entry, upon receiving a "valid" response, would claim the coins; that can be the private key. I had not gotten much further than this conceptually and certainly not to the point of how this page would make the determinations or prevent single users from claiming multiple wallet addresses for the free money. At any rate you can see the similarities of this idea using a paper wallet, perhaps users would need to register with email address & password, or the site would record the IP address; even though both methods can be easily abused.

From the original poster's idea, I like the fact of not having to know how to use cryptocurrency but earn rewards anyway but I'd think we need a more sophisticated wallet to handle many of the related transactions, although the paper wallet emailed to customer can be a great start at introducing cryptocurrency and seeing how you can actually redeem for physical goods.

There are always new members getting confused on where some of their coins were sent since they may not know about specifying a change address, or using coin control at all. It's great to have some videos featuring basic functions for beginner's and members alike in our arsenal 

I have never had any problems using Trade Satoshi, although the experience maybe somewhat different than using the trade interface of Binance, KuCoin, or what ever exchange you may be used to. They are popular for listing newer coins and/or coins with lower value (that would have a harder time getting listed on a "tier 1" exchange). For this reason it is a great exchange to have coins listed on with a newer project.

Try it you might like it!

It's been quite awhile since I've posted here, and I check out just basic info. on the forum now and again.

Question: I see the latest wallet, on Github or wallet download link, is DeepOnion Wallet v1.7.5.

Is this a mandatory upgrade or will v.1.7.3 still be fine for the immediate few days before I download the newer version?

In the past I have skipped some, but not all, of the optional updates and then skipped and upgraded say from 1.70 to 1.73 (not specifically those versions in that order, but for example).

Hey all PRiVACY peeps, haven't popped in here for awhile and wondering if there is any sudden or surprise developments going on or planned in the very near future for PRiV coin.

I'm not speaking of the exchanges, as I have been pretty up-to-date on those and so far I'd say CREX24 is the most viable.

I do keep on seeing talk, here and on Discord, about just waiting until CoinDeal gets around to actually implementing the PRiV listing... but what else is going on with the Dev Team?

Wow, @jimmybob_007, that is a nice fact to know that there are several members filling their bags in anticipation of the new features with huge growth potential. I also believe that with the masternode and Proof-of-Stalking (PoS) rewards planned, the value will rise when the are in full force and live. MNs and staking I think are both pluses for this coin!

Yes, good deal I like your approach. Some say the price is too low but as a community that is just budding, and starting to blossom in time, I agree that it's better to look at this as an opportunity to invest with purchasing more GENX while the value is low, or reasonable.

Glad to be participating and believe in this coin project. Now, I'm not sure if I joined under 1 or 2, but I think I received the partial payment; so that must have been for last of Week 1. Many new features under development or on timeline for near future.

Overall, I must say I've been quite pleased with the project and am happy to have come across it. I know that the team will continue to work hard in bringing new features already on the road map, such as staking and masternodes, to name a couple of them as they have worked on a previous project I participated in for awhile.

I will add that the Genesis project seems more promising than the last project I just mentioned, purposely not named, so I think I am here at the right time!

I signed up to join the signature campaign as well, once I saw some changes and it was brought to my attention by the email and Twitter posts, which I have often liked and RT'd.

I'm unsure if I need to, and if so where in my BCT profile do I, insert my address?
For now I put it under "Other contact info:" field.

What I really like about Genesis, and $GENX, is the transparency, authentic effort put forth by developers and other staff, real world applications such as the P-2-P, Point-of-Sales features and the ability to either mine or stake coins.

Happy to be in this 5th Airdrop, one of two I was able to participate in.

Glad to be a part of Genesis. I recognize some names, faces (avatars) here and am fairly sure that this will become a successful project with real world applications such as the Peer-to-Peer, Point-of-Sale solutions for e-commerce.

Bravo to the devs and whole team for making this happen... I’m looking forward to future developments with the project!
