The miner is connected to the 4-pin cable.  I read somewhere that it doesn't matter whether you use the left or right plug, but it is in the right plug.
I'd have to reflash the OpenWRt to try that again.

to be clear, the blue light has only come on in Raspbian with CGMiner installed.   I did not mess with the hardware between using that and using the other OS's.

Going back to OpenWRT....

Reinstalled, reconfigured for my network,
There's really not much to see

edit: If I try connecting with console, it says to check the URL.  Here I try a few variations on starting cgminer

The whole time, the light keeps blinking yellow.

Still, start with the stock factory code and go from there.

First, I tried using Minera since it has a nice interface.  It didn't detect any local miners.
Next I got the stock Canaan software (which runs on OpenWRT).  The Pi was found at its IP address, but it said that there were no mining devices connected.

I tried powering on and connecting the devices in different orders to no avail.
3  Bitcoin / Mining support / Avalon 6 setup issues, low hashrate and not registering on Slushpool on: November 19, 2017, 06:38:12 AM
I recently got an Avalon 6 to mine bitcoin, but haven't been able to get it running all week.
I connected it to a 1300 W Rosewill PSU with the proper pins shorted (to provide power without a motherboard).  I also connected it via USB to a Raspberry Pi, model 1.
It has Raspbian Desktop with CGMiner installed, connected to Slushpool through the terminal.

When I finally got it connected, the LED on the back of the miner changed from blinking yellow to steady blue.

Avalon 6 is supposed to get up to 3.5 TH/s, but I've been getting a steady 800-900 GH/s and I don't know why.

On the Slushpool monitor, it says my miner is not running at all.

In the slushpool FAQ, it said that significantly lower hashrates can be caused by setting the difficulty too low.
So, I manually set the difficulty to 2048.
The miner registered the increase in difficulty after I set it in Slushpool's online user interface.  It now says that it's mining at 2048 instead of the low default steting.  But it keeps churning along at 800-900 GH/s.   On my slushppool page, it says my miner is doing nothing.

Any ideas?
