I thought u guys are a bit more experienced in stuff like algorithms. ASICs chips can only mine a specific algorithm, so the baikal x10 had 6 or 7 different chips and they just activated them with a firmware. So they need a new ASIC for the new algorithm. Sure its possible, but if you guys make it for them complicated as possible, im sure they will have problems. So I would take option #1. Just change the algo to something really complicated algorithm. Take a look at cryptonightv7,lyra2rev,x16r or you just create a new kind of algorithm if your team is experienced im sure this will not be a problem for you guys.

lol loud and wrong smh
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [NEW] Bitmain Announces Antminer A3 on: March 23, 2018, 06:12:07 PM
I ran my A3 overclocked at 930 Gh/s average for over one month with (low hardware errors under 2k/day per board)

I used 120V power on APW3++ and it worked like a charm!
Temperatures averaged around 62-65C for boards and outside room temps were between 60F-80F

I would say bitmain's PSU is stronger than it seems and does work well!

This is a dangerous example, since overloading the power supply may end up breaking it.

The input circuit in the APW3++ is designed to be able to handle max. 1200W at 110-120V and max. 1600W at 220-240V mains voltage.

I've also been running miner around 900-930 Gh/s (Overclocked from 600-650) and the power doesn't go above 1200W, it stays around 1180W on my A3's. Temps on boards are around 88C-93C with good air circulation and before at room temperature the miners would run stock at 80C-85C. After talking to Bitmain support the boards can run up to 115C before overheat protection kicks in but I would not like for the boards to get above 95C.

Hi!.

How to get a power of 1180-1200W?. When I set the A3 to 650, my power is at about 1450W!!. Do you have an APW3 power supply?.

Did bitmain tell you that the board supports up to 115C ?. I think it's a very high temperature..

Anyway, when I put more than 640, it starts to give a lot of errors and the hashrate fluctuates a lot.

Best regards.

I'm using an APW3 power supply. What I did was overclock to 650 then after the settings are changed I rebooted the miner. When it first comes up I can see the power spike to over 1400W and then after a few hours it slowly settles in at around 1180W-1200W. Yes bitmain support said the chips on the boards are rated for 115C but from my background in computers I wouldn't recommend going over 100C. All miners are different but mine seem to like to be at around 650-662 which appears to be the limit of the boards because any higher they start to get lots of errors.

So...when I loaded my A3 out of the box it was pulling 820 - 900.   Did y'alls start at 600?  I thought the 820 was standard and it's been running fine no errors or drops.   It is loud as all get out though, blows the L3+ out of the water in terms of dB.  The power cord is warm too, it is generating heat way beyond the L3+.  I unplugged it once and touched the 3 prong and burned my hand they were so hot.

Also, there were pre-configured settings for mining using antpool  (this is direct from bitmain, not an third party or ebay sell).  Is this standard?  I don't remember that for the l3+

Using standard APW3  and I haven't touched A3 in terms of OC.

1st batch had come out with 600 MHz frequency and they are indeed pretty hot my 5 pieces are running at 72-75 Celsius on boards and around 90 Celsius on chips, underclocked at 550 MHz

the reason the wire is getting so hot is because you are using the wrong gauge wire. A regular PC power cord (10a) is not enough for long term use. i went to sam ash and got a 13a power cord. now the power doesn't get hot at all.

Thanks a lot for your answers, it's helping.
Well now I have another issue, it seems the tab "miner status" doesnt show anything anymore when i click on it...
https://framapic.org/YuR729YQcbpc/rheIg0GxNH6m.png
Is it just the pool isnt configured well or something else? I m a bit worried i harmed the miner by putting the frequency to 750.
Thanks

Go back to your system page and see what it says under hardware version?

Probably just your miner configuration settings are wrong?

Hi,
I  have 2 A3 and I have this issue with both : in system/overview/hardware version it says  "Socket connect failed: Connection refused"
Do you have any idea what i can do?
I tried to set nat/pat config in my router to let port 3333 and 20550 go throug but it doesnt change anything.
I tried to reset the miner, then it works for some time and get back to "   Socket connect failed: Connection refused"
Any idea?
Thanks a lot!

I got this error when i was trying to use MPH. What pool you using?
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [NEW] Bitmain Announces Antminer A3 on: January 26, 2018, 05:50:21 AM
Just received the miner. It is freaking loud at my apartment. I am pretty sure someone is going to complain. I tried setting the fan speed to 70% but chip temperature is going beyond 90 C. What is the ideal fan speed and temperature guys? PCB is around 70 and chip around 100.. Is that too much?

PCB can never go to 80 or it will break...

Try to keep it at 60-70 for best results.

I recommend opening your window and pointing the outtake fan towards it. Also, You can only lower the fan if you are going to lower the frequency as well otherwise it will overheat.

I recommend getting earplugs to sleep because it will be hard but would be best for right now. Either that or call a friend and ask them to run it in a spare room for the next 1 week while you buy fan shrouds, cooler, and insulated flexible duct to make a box to silent it a little.

Window is open and people walking outside can hear it very well. It is like a vacuum cleaner running lol

Right now, the fans are at 5800 RPM (auto mode), PCB is 65-70, chip temp is 90-92. Getting 830 GHS

I tried setting fan speed to 70%. That significantly reduced the noise but chip temp were at 100 within few mins. I switched back the fan speed to auto. If I let it say at 70%, chip temp would hit 110 I guess. lol.

Now, what is the max chip temp that is "ok" for device to at least last 6-7 month?

If I want to lower the noise, I guess I have to underclock. Is "frequency" the settings to underclock? Can you tell me what range I should try changing and play with so I can lower the noise (and also hopefully keep the temperature ideal)?

Sorry about too many questions. This is my first ASIC. Have been running GPU rigs always...

You could always just stick an AC in front of it. Thats what i did. Two x10s (50% fan speed) and one Bitman A3 (30% fan speed) . They only thing i hear is the AC and thats just a hum. When you change the frequency low or high you need to load firmware that will support it or its possible it will reject all your blocks. P.S. Im gonna work on making it look nicer when the second A3 gets here lol Good luck!!

Dears,
am i wrong by calculating Groestl-Myriad on whattomine, which shows 420$/day currently? really??  Shocked Shocked

yes, you are wrong. Groestl is not the same as Groestl-Myriad

Very high chance this is fake. What method and address did you use to contact them?
lol not fake. im upset too but i use the same method as i did to get my x10.....email

10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Giant X10 on: January 21, 2018, 08:50:13 PM
why do you mining on verge?
DGB is more profitable.

Verge is a bit more profitable as per est rewards 0.004645,
est rewards for DGB are 0.004459

Yes and no. The profit of DGB goes higher because you can mine it with 3 different algo qubit, myr-gos and skein. So no one algo gets flooded. If you use profit switching it will always stay on the most profitable algo between the 3 and you end up making much more. Currently making 75-80 US per day mining dgb.

what port numbers are you using?

I have received 10 unit X10, but some of them have low hashrate, what is the reason or how can we fix it?
I have install new software, static ip but it is the same.

I had a similar issue. You want to make sure that the circuit that all of the miners are connected to are the same. For example in my situation I had two x10 connected to a wall outlet but one was also connected to a kilowatt meter. And produce this kind of error where one was hashing correctly and the other was almost half. So I just put another kilowatt meter on the other one and now they both hashing correctly. Cheers

Anybody got problems with miningpoolhub?

This morning it stopped adding balance to my wallet. Dashboard looks good, all workers running. The pool finding blocks. This sucks! :/

I only used miningpoolhub for one day, maybe here is someone using them longer?

Thx

Currently happening to me. I think its just a lag. Cuz hasnt been a problem for the three days ive been using them. I would wait it out a little longer before resetting anything.

OK, confirmed, Have had this firmware on my Baikal X10's ( 4 of them ) and still have same problem.

This is not new firmware for fix. we need to keep asking Baikal.

what is your setup? does each of you units have their own power supply? or are you sharing power supplies? what kin dof power supply are you using? did you make sure that each unit has its own worker? are you using the monitoring program? how hot are you running them? are you keeping it under 40 degrees c?

Theres a new firmware:
PiZero_GX10_171229_V1.1.im
Just google it. Uhm...tell me findings don’t have time now Smiley
No new algos it said on russian site.

That's odd, I don't see it on their github.

This is true. Im downloading it now. 10 hours Sad But it is on github when you click the "baidu" link. i ran into an issue downloading it because i dont have a Chinese mainland number. A fix is to use a chrome extension called "baidudl" and viola bypassing the requirements. I will poke around it when its down downloading and let you know if i find anything juicy

We have submitted your shipping address to the manufacturer very early.
Because of factory delays, this is beyond our control.
If you need a refund, we can arrange a refund.
The following is the factory to give us the reply
Hi,
Always thankful for your support on Baikal.
I am really sorry to inform you, according to the latest response from Goods-shipping department, Part of first batch order delivery will have some delay based on currently daily delivery rate. The estimated time for Delivery All miners out they offered us is on 11th Dec.
Apologize again for the inconvenient brought. If you consider the delay is unacceptable, I could try to apply full fund return of this batch as a solution.
