Great, I hope lots of people will add this onto their watchlist, and more importantly, update this thread everytime they notice a new swap coming!

And as I said, I hope that this thread keeps clean from all kinds of discussions, or otherwise it might get messed up and loses it's original purpose. So, if you have something to ask regarding the swaps or anything else, please open a new dedicated thread for it. Or even better, use the search if someone already did so!

But, this time I might just say that of course you have to generate a new private address for your EOS coins, and store it in a secure place where no one can access it, but you really shouldn't submit it to anywhere, never! But again, if you want to discuss this in more detail, please open a new thread.

This might be a "bit" old news for most of you, but if any QTUM owner did not notice during 2017, they also did a swap away from Ethereum blockchain...

- Token swap deadline: Started 2017, still available at least in Gate.io

You want to track your coins? Try downloading CoinMarketApp. It can help you monitor your tokens real-time. You can favorite what token(s) you're following and you can have its alert "on" when the coin reaches a certain value (by %increase), so you'll know when to sell.

No, I don't want to track my coins' value. I want to track if they need a manual token swap or not?

And another:

- Coin's homepage: https://vinchain.io
- Token swap deadline: Can't find an exact date, "ASAP"...
- A link to the token swap instructions: https://vinchain.io/blog/187

Note:

"If you don't swap your tokens, they will be locked and un-tradable!
If you do not swap your tokens as soon as possible, then your tokens will be locked and un-tradable! You will not be able to participate in trading your tokens on exchanges! - so please complete the token swap ASAP!"

Hey, I also created a separate thread for token swap notifications, I hope that it will gain enough users to keep us up-to-date:

So, let me start with this one:

- Coin's name: EOS
- Coin's homepage: https://eos.io/
- Token swap deadline: 1.6.2018
- A link to the token swap instructions: https://eos.io/instructions

Please note:

"In order to be part of such Snapshot, it is important that you generate an EOS public and private key pair (see the ?Generate EOS keys? button below) and register your EOS public key with your Ethereum address prior to the EOS Tokens becoming fixed and non-transferable on the Ethereum blockchain which will occur within 23 hours after the end of the final period on June 1, 2018 at 22:59:59 UTC."

There doesn't seem to be any website or service in internet which would list all forthcoming or ongoing token swaps, when some coin transfers from a blockchain to another. There are many long term altcoin holders such as I am, with dozens (or even hundreds?) of coins in their portfolio, and it is quite impossible to follow all different coins to keep track on needed token swap actions. And, it is quite possible that is you miss a swap, your coins will become worthless.

So, could this kind of a thread help even a little bit?

Instructions:
- This thread is meant ONLY for notificating a token swap to come, when the date for it has been released.
- Please DO NOT start ANY conversations on this thread, or it will be messed up. If you need some help regarding the swap etc., it is always better to start a new thread.

- When notificating a swap, please indicate:
   - Coin's name
   - Coin's homepage
   - Token swap deadline
   - A link to the token swap instructions, if possible.
   - Other notes

Let's make this thread the one and only token swap notification system in the universe! :=)

But, I just sent a feature request for this swap information to CoinCheckup, let's see what's their reply :=)

For my future reference in case someone asked about similar thing (on this forum or other way), does coincheckup inform people about token swaps etc?

For what I know, they don't. That's why I sent the feature request anyway.

As for the necessity of manually swapping your coins, I'll suggest what I suggested to Mankov, to select only few that you see as promising to hold and sell the others. Besides, I am not sure if all of those 98 coins will still be there and having a high price 5 years from today. Holding few will helps you track the progress of each coin better.

Or, if you want to, you can put them (the ones you less-prefered) on an trusted exchange and set your desired price, so they will be auto-sold during a market raise. Not only it'll help the swapping (if any), it could also help a case of making profit and buyback, as frequently token prices will goes back to a low level after certain high.

Yeah I know that many of my coins will be worthless in a year or two, but I just don't care, that's part of my game ;=) When I select a coin to invest in, I'm always trying to understand what would be it's use case in real life in the future, where's the actual business case for it? There MUST be a good real life point for it, how could it disrupt any current business models one way or another, otherwise it's not going to be my coin. I always try to understand it's whitepaper good enough, check the team, read all articles of it etc., to find coins that suit my purposes well enough. And, I also try to do the investment before the coin enters TOP-50, sometimes even TOP-100, to be able by low, and have enough room for big multipliers. If I can find even few coins that gain some actual real life usage and disrupt some businesses and markets in forthcoming years, in my opinion it's not impossible that they will get 100x gains etc.

Think it this way; if you spread your investment so that you buy 100 coins with 1% share each one, and even one of them gets 100x gain some day in the future, ALL OTHER coins can die away, and still you're on break even! If even few dozen coins survive well enough, there is good potential for a profit.

Of course, my portfolio does not have 1% share fo every coin. For example BTC and ETH are having about 10%, and many TOP-10 coins are between 3-6%, etc.

And I would NEVER store any of my coins on ANY exchange, I just don't trust them enough. If you're a trader, that's a must of course, but since I don't trade pretty much ever, I prefer security over anything. Actually I do trade every now and then, just to balance my portfolio. If some coin's share rises too large, I sell it a bit and invest on some new interesting coins. But this does not happen even every month.

Ok, thanks.

Did I understand correctly that automatic swap is only possible when coins are on an exchange? Naturally I don't hold ANY of my coins on an exchange, but on a wallet, paper wallet or ledger nano. So does this mean that I actually would need to manually keep track on all of my coins if they need a swap some day, and then somehow manually transfer them to their new blockchain on some exchange or other www- service?

Darn, this seems to quite a problem in the future; I just counted that I have 98 different coins on my portfolio! How the heck can I keep track on all of them???  Huh Shocked

I'm also a bit confused with these token swaps...

During last few years I've been inversting on dozens of different alt coins, with a purpose to hold them for a long term, maybe 3-5 years. Now I noticed that there are coins such as Qtum which are not anymore using Ethereum blockchain, but have been swapped into it's own Qtum- blockchain. So, to be able to use or sell my Qtum- coins, I should do this procedure called "token swap".

And when I Googled for "token swap", I noticed that many other coins that I own have also already transfered onto their own blockchain & wallets, or are going to do so in the near future.

So my questions are:

1) Do I really need to do this token swap right away for every coin I own, as soon as it's possbile? Or could I just wait for that 3-5 years, and do the swapping when I'm ready to sell some?

2) I could not find a list of all swappable coins, is there such a list anywhere?? I mean; is there any site where I could check if a token swap is needed for my own coins or not?

There's no paper wallet generator for Qtum currently. These are easy to create, as Qtum uses a Bitcoin Core clone as its foundation Blockchain.

We recommend that you do swap your Qtum ERC20 tokens to Qtum Mainnet Ignition. You can use Qtum.changelly.com to do this. This service will not be online forever, and when they take this down, it will become difficult to swap your tokens. You will have to do it through the team directly, which will take longer.

We recommend that you download a Qtum Ignition wallet from our github, encrypt it and then back it up, then stake your tokens to help secure the network.

Ok, thank you very much! I just hope that Qtum.changelly.com does not go down BEFORE there would be some paper wallet generator around, since I'm holding all my assets on a paper...

Could anyone help me with my problem mentioned before, please?

Hi all, my first post in here!  Grin

I purchased some QTUM during the summer, and now I noticed that the Ether- wallet cannot be used anymore due the change for the own blockchain. So I have two questions:
- since I'm a long term holder, is there any reason to transfer my original ETH- based QTUM's to the new version right now, or can I just hold them on my paperwallet for years to come?
- Is there any valid paper wallet for QTUM yet?
