2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Dogecoin core [bootstrap issue] on: May 17, 2017, 06:43:41 PM
Hello everyone, I wanted my Dogecoin Core wallet back in order, and decided to download the 12.5 GB bootstrap file available, but I am supposed to put it into Appdata / Roaming / Dogecoin but the folder does not exist

I then put it into my main folder "Dogecoin" which is located in A:/Software but it does not boot the file up, it says 3 years and XX months behind, what is the issue here? Sad

Best regards

Thank you for your post vatived22

I have heard stuff about Poloniex, sadly not the best, one of  them being the techinal issues they are having, can make it worse for you in the long run

Thank you for your post findingthemoon

Yes, so I've heard, that is also why I am staying a bit away from Poloniex for the time being, it's too "scary" regarding the technical issues they are having at the moment.

Thank you for your post Viper1!

I will take a look at Bittrex at first, as it seems like a good place to start out, also coinigy!

And that is 100% what I am going for, I won't trade on emotion, nor will I listed to the forums etc regarding "selling" or "buying" since it can go both ways really, I will buy, sit on my hands till I reach the point I feel comfortable and then sell :-)

Thank you once again!
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / I want to give "day trading" a go, question is where? on: May 11, 2017, 05:03:26 PM
Hello everyone,

I thought of giving day trading a go, I do have a limit of funds to invest into this project, and it's XXXX, I am also aware that I CAN and WILL most likely loose funds doing this, but I am doing this for "fun" and my limit or spendings on this project is not making me homeless nor is it going to make me cry, if I do end up loosing.

I just wanted to know, what kind of platform everyone is using for day trading, or trading in general, which site should I avoid, give me your best suggestions :-)

Thank you!
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / A newbie starting out with Altcoin(s) on: November 15, 2016, 06:41:48 PM
Hello again everyone.

Thank you to everyone who responded to my first thread, I got advised to start mining altcoins instead of focusing on Bitcoin, since it's going to be a rough ride if I want to get on that wagon.

I went onto "whattomine.com" and saw that Zcash was good in price, but since I dont have linux, Zcash is not possible for me right now.

I then got rather confused, because alot of mining are based on graphics cards, but mostly graphics cards besides Nvidia?

So my question is, what altcoin should i focus on, I am currently sitting with an I7 4790K CPU and Nvidia Geforce GTX970

Thanks!
Alex.

Thank you for your answer.

So there is literally no point in Bitcoin mining anymore?

Because i'm just wondering why everyone else on the forums are building new mining rigs if it's pointless :-/

Hello everyone!

I have been searching around the forums for a while now, to figure out what's best for me in terms of Bitcoin mining.

I have one of those small Antminer USB's, but let's face it.... it will take me a year, and i'm up to 50 cents or MAYBE 1$

There is no way, at this current time i will have the space, nor the equipment to set up my own bitcoin farm, so...

I had a look at Genesis Mining, I have been a customer there before, and everything was running smoothly, now my contract ran out, i'd have to buy myself another contract with them.

But is this my solution, perhaps buying 1 TH/s from Genesis Mining, or can someone recommend a company that does sorta the same?

Thanks!

Alex.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Ethereum "geth" is taking forever on: May 16, 2016, 05:26:56 AM
Hello everyone,

I was thinking of giving Ethereum mining a shot, and started setting up the basic's for it,

One of them was to get "geth" and in the terminal "geth account new" it would ask you to set a password which i did, and then geth --rpc

And this is where my question comes in, how long does this process take, it's literally been standing the most of yesterday, i let the computer on during the night, and it's STILL running,

It's making progress, so instead of:

07:24:51 core/blockchain.go:959 imported 1 block(s) #1526017

It's going up in numbers after the "#" so #1526017 becomes 18, 19 etc.

Thanks!
10  Bitcoin / Mining / Perhaps a really dumb question(am i mining?) on: May 14, 2016, 03:24:45 PM
Hello everyone,

Since i am very new to mining, this will be a very stupid question to 99.8% of the whole forum, but i have to start it out somewhere.

I bought an Antminer, 2 GH/S a while ago, and connected it to multipool.us, just for starters, and i copied the command line into a bat file, and it seems to be running okay.

But i'm not sure if it is mining or not, i took a screenshot of the interface itself, i can't get it onto the forums, without people having to click on a link, but here it is:

Thank you guys!

11  Bitcoin / Mining support / New guy to mining, where to start on: November 29, 2015, 08:55:11 PM
Hello everyone,

I came here the first time in 2013, but had alot to do in that year, so now i am finally back.

I have been looking into Bitcoin mining for several years now, but never really made it into mining anything, i once had some software that did run a miner for me, but that was a long time ago now, i have tried several programs now, but none of them supports a Nvidia Geforce 970, so i canīt even mine from my GPU, besides i have also heard that it would take million of years that way, so my actual question was more,

1) What do i need to solo mine? Since i have seen it being more popular these days to solo mine, i think it would be the best for me

2) What software could you guys recommend using?

3) I have been looking into hardware, at this stage of my life, spending 1000$ on a device for solo mining would be way too much, but less could do.

Thanks in advance.
