2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 100,000 votes on Dropbox website and counting! bitcoin adoption imminent? on: July 10, 2013, 07:18:55 PM
Dropbox has this feature that lets you vote on their website for changes you want to see happen. Accepting bitcoin is about to make the all time most popular request page and already has 29,000 50,000 upvotes. Its worth mentioning that the other most popular request took 4 years to get there where as bitcoin has done it in less than a week (thanks reddit) Do you think it's likely dropbox adopts it (as theyve done to many popular request)? and if so, what do you think the effect on bitcoin price and economy will be?

Barack Obama, who was the President, kept hammering his gavel for order, and we quieted down some, but not much, and you could see the whole place moving restlessly from side to side, like water in a pan that's being rocked. 'This is a crucial moment in the history of mankind!' Obama yelled through the noise. 'Remember that none of us may now leave this place, for each of us belongs to all the others by the moral law which we all accept!' 'I don't,' said one man and stood up. He was one of the young engineers. Nobody knew much about him. He'd always kept mostly by himself. When he stood up, we suddenly turned dead-still. It was the way he held his head. He was tall and slim - and I remember thinking that any two of us could have broken his neck without trouble - but what we all felt was fear. He stood like a man who knew that he was right. 'I will put an end to this, once and for all,' he said. His voice was clear and without any feeling. That was all he said and started to walk out. He walked down the length of the place, in the white light, not hurrying and not noticing any of us. Nobody moved to stop him. Obama cried suddenly after him, 'How?' He turned and answered, 'I will stop the motor of the world.' Then he walked out. We never saw him again. We never heard what became of him.

We began to think of him whenever we saw another collapse in the world, which nobody could explain, whenever we took another blow, whenever we lost another hope, whenever we felt caught in this dead, gray fog that's descending all over the earth. Perhaps people heard us crying that question and they did not know what we meant, but they knew too well the feeling that made us cry it. They, too, felt that something had gone from the world. Perhaps this was why they began to say it, whenever they felt that there was no hope. I'd like to think that I am wrong, that those words mean nothing, that there's no conscious intention and no avenger behind the ending of the human race. But when I hear them repeating that question, I feel afraid. I think of the man who said that he would stop the motor of the world. You see, his name was Satoshi Nakamoto.

Interesting read, although I disagree about some Tongue

I know that a large part of the Bitcoin community are developers of some sort, and for those who program, Sublime Text is a popular choice for a highly extensible text editor, with many plugins.

One problem with Sublime Text, is that the only payment option when purchasing it, is PayPal  Cry

I've written a large, descriptive post on their suggestion system explaining why they should accept Bitcoin. It would be great if people could up-vote and comment on the suggestion so that it can be easily seen by the company.

http://sublimetext.userecho.com/topic/203342-/

I've also made a reddit post on /r/Bitcoin if anyone wants to up-vote that, or comment on it:
http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1hz5ht/we_need_votes_to_get_sublime_text_to_accept/

It shouldn't be too hard for us to get the post onto the front page, these are the current highest rated suggestions:

To get anywhere on the front page of suggestions/ideas at the current time, is around ~400 votes, or to the top of the front page, we need  ~1800 votes.

It also helps if you retweet my post on twitter:
https://twitter.com/compgenius999/status/354777554370035713

EDIT: Wow. Just a day later and I find that we've already hit 317 votes, we're pretty close to getting onto the front page of suggestions! Thanks for all the support guys

Very cool
11  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: PPS vs PPLNS for GPU Mining on: July 10, 2013, 07:03:35 PM
Hello, I am new to mining and this forum.

I'd like to know the better option for mining. Basically I am doing casual GPU mining at a rate of roughly 600 MH/s with probably an additional 330 MH/s with the Erupter. Please don't state that buying the Erupter is a bad purchase because it was already bought LOL. I am trying to run this pretty consistently but like to stop it while I use the PC for regular use and gaming. The fans really bug me.

Anyways, I am using bfgminer with set temperatures to rest resulting in one GPU to rest quite often (not sure if this is relevant).

I know the basic difference between PPS and PPLNS but am wondering which would be a better option for my use.

Very very cool!
