Well done! I can't get to registering my nick properly right now, but it seems really user friendly. I wish to see it on more mainstream networks after some testing. Quakenet and IRCnet, specifically.
No worries! I hope so see you int he channel so we can catch up. I would be delighted to have it on different networks in the future
I'd like to try this out later, if it indeed is working great than this is good news, hopefully people will start using it from now on. Smiley
I appreciate that, I'll see you in the channel!
Also you should make a post about this in r/bitcoin, you may get some love there and more traction. Smiley

Hi all

I've spent the last few days building this bot for IRC - BitTip.

I believe it's a great addition to help channels, offering the ability for people asking questions to show their gratitude to the people helping. There is also a wide group of people on Freednode that don't know about Bitcoin yet - you can use this bot to start a conversation with someone about Bitcoin and get them on board!

Please note, 1% is deducted from withdrawals to cover running costs.

Official channel: #bittip
Commands: !deposit - get a unique address to deposit to the bot
!balance - check your current balance
!withdraw <address> <amount> - withdraw from your balance. The transaction fee is first deducted, followed by 1%
!tip <user> <amount> - currently amount is in BTC. In the future I might add different units.

I'll be around in #bittip to answer any questions, thanks for checking it out. To get BitTip in your channel, just /invite it.

I'm currently using Electrum, and have been for months now. It's really lightweight, I was up and running within a minute.

Having said that, multibit are working on some great new features right now, so I might consider them. The transaction fee they've added is a little controversial though, I'm not sure how you'd feel about that: http://www.coindesk.com/cash-strapped-multibit-developers-charge-transaction-fee/
