After reading up on the net I realised that your GPU is way better at doing the calculations required to make bitcoins. Make sure you dont ignore the about showing file extensions in Windows 7/Vista so you dont end up with a bitcoin.conf file that is actually a bitcoin.conf.txt file as I did.
