Haha, that was funny =)

However BF is useless vip club imho. Feds may shutdown them. I see no impact on bitcoin network at all.
They do pay the Bitcoin lead developer's salary.

They pay Gavin in BTC.

I don't think there would be any jurisdiction until he converts to USD - and at that point, it should be unrelated to the Foundation.

Is the Bitcoin Foundation located in California?

The cease and desist letter was sent to an address in Seattle, Wa.

I think the State of California does not quite understand the function of the Bitcoin Foundation.

7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The .bit chrome extension beta is now available for download on: June 07, 2013, 10:14:18 PM
Can you provide a link to the extension?

It doesn't seem to be populating anywhere yet.
(I presume it is located in the chrome web store?)

Thanks
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So how did YOU first hear about bitcoin? on: June 07, 2013, 06:24:39 PM
I had read about it a few times before 2011, but I failed to recognize the significance until I listened to this in April, 2011:

www.econtalk.org/archives/2011/04/andresen_on_bit.html‎

My recent understanding of the theoretic potential of colored coins and decentralized exchanges (property, shares, commodity-backed currencies, etc.) riding off the blockchain infrastructure have only made bitcoin that much more interesting.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Project Meshnet: Hardware for cjdns to enable new, censorship free Internet on: May 24, 2013, 07:09:43 AM
It seems to me that what most mesh development is lacking is incentive for those not invested by ideology, development, etc.

Would it be theoretically or practically possible to develop a new blockchain and *true* alt-coin that would take the same amount of hashing power from each account (node), regardless of CPU/GPU - using shared bandwidth and throughput via mesh node to calculate mining effectiveness?

Being that most IP's do not allow for resale of access, it seems this would be both a great way around that restriction, while providing plenty of incentive to adopt and share access via mesh AND providing a new, true alt-coin that has a creation value most novice could understand (ie.- access to internet)

My terminology may be completely distorted, but hopefully I explained the concept clear enough???

OK.

I think everybody knows who "Satoshi" really is:

Has anybody been able to purchase using Coinbase yet?

I've never seen that site with bitcoin availability.

14  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New BTC Gambling Service? What would you want? on: April 17, 2013, 06:06:54 PM
I don't think I would play but an article that went around the last couple days suggested a community want for a global bitcoin lottery.

I'd be interested to see how big that could get, how escrow, transparency, reward(s), %, etc. would work.

Hi, I'm Bob.

My demographic is quite accurately that expected of the typical Bitcoiner.

I created this account a couple years ago, but have only lurked the forum - obviously not logged in, as it seems I only have a bit over an hour logged.

Meh.

I guess 2 years of trolling counts for nothing these days...
