1  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Inputs.io | Instant Payments, Offchain API, Secure Wallet, 235k+ BTC transferred on: November 05, 2013, 08:46:34 PM
A full update will be posted soon, don't panic. Only people with the API key enabled was compromised (and will be reimbursed), passwords are securely stored one way in the database.

Security is obviously the most important thing to a Bitcoin wallet, and it's unfortunate that a compromise occurred, and we're learning a lot from it (things that pentests won't catch).

There will be a full update soon, but this compromise was not through a fault of the code but rather like a 'side channel' attack.

The attacker was able to empty the balance on accounts with the API key enabled. The issue is being actively looked upon. API access has been disabled.

Everyone who has lost money will be fully reimbursed.

Thank you TF. You're the best.  Cool Cool Cool Cool

hey, good luck ... we need developers constantly working on apps and ideas like these to make bitcoin more usable offline if bitcoin is going to stay alive. Ignore the haters and work on that app.

Poor newbies, it is VERY CONFUSING to actually HAVE TO READ  Sad

Where was it for me to read? Was it in the giant box of terms & conditions when I signed up?

I don't see why a little notification for newbies ("Newbies: Read this to post and reply") is a bad idea. I came here today and didn't even remember when I had created an account, but there I was, logged in. When you visit multiple forums every few weeks or every couples months it's not easy to remember something like that. Why not give new visitors a little extra welcome?

I agree. I searched my inbox thinking I had not confirmed registration or something....  I Googled "why can't I post a reply on Bitcointalk.org" to discover the answer. Very confusing and perhaps discouraging to new members. Huh
11  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: bitvisitor scam? on: July 23, 2013, 11:53:50 AM
Is anyone else having problems with Bitvisitor? It seems to be operating as normal except there is no total on top of the amount you have accrued. It just says "Payment sent every 100 uBTC!". I'm visiting the sites but I don't know if I'm getting credit for it...
