Update: suche wieder ~3 BTC gegen cash
2  Local / Suche / Re: [s] BF4 Key on: May 14, 2014, 03:04:54 PM

3  Local / Suche / Re: [s] BF4 Key on: May 14, 2014, 04:47:27 AM
Bin mir nicht so sicher, dass die noch gehen...

Der AMD Key muss ja erstmal in einen Origin Key umgetauscht werden. Geht das überhaupt noch?
4  Local / Suche / [S] suche bis 4 BTC gegen Cash in Bayern (MUC, NBG, REG, AUX, IN) on: May 14, 2014, 04:45:40 AM
Hi,

Einfach kurz melden.

An issue that has to be taken care of is the "renting and not paying" problem.

maybe a user who is not paying should get a 10% fine on his next rent....
or a 1 BTC deposit is necessary before renting....

I get several of those a day and I really don't like it...!

Wait, I assumed that payment had to be secured (and held by BetaRigs) BEFORE the client was allowed to rent a rig.  Is this not correct?

incorrect...

you register an account, you click on rent... a second time that you are willing to pay... thats it...

is betarigs advertising for cloud mining or just to us rig owners? I mean they are taking fees ;-)

I don't see them on other scrypt forums....

wow... I hope there are no americans here calling to "regulate" the market and price...... LOL

it is so funny, how all babies here start crying when prices go down... but they had no problems ripping of renters when there was only few rigs available...

I wish for higher prices as well, but you know how the game works... if somebody provides the same for cheap... everybody is only in for the money..

few renters actually care for quality.. they might even give you a negative rating if over several rents a rig fails (my... its technology and not flawless), instead of giving a good rating if the problem was resolved...
get my point?

its a price war.... and somebody with free electricity is winning it.

I hope there will be a time when the owerns or leasers (the users) can be rated... I hate thes "rented, but no payment received" rentals....

@MUX

how would monitoring API be arranged? (is it miner/win/lin comaptible?). Does that mean renters cannot complain about something that has not been? will payments be processed faster than?

how about the option of aggregating payents and getting them only once a week or on request, I hate these many small transactions...
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BETARIGS.COM - Cryptocurrency cloud mining - 1300+ scrypt rigs online! on: March 03, 2014, 11:39:31 AM
Any chance of a block system for us system owners so we can weed out pesky renters?

A few on the site are renting out rigs and claiming they aren't getting the advertised rates when system logs (cgwatcher) show otherwise and it seems that some of them are doing the same thing over and over again.

A simple block list which owners could add renters too in order to stop them from renting would be a god send.

It could get rid of the "renting and not paying"-problem as well. But then, I don't think a blocklist will really help, as people will just create new accounts, if they are looking for trouble.
A "rate the renter/lender" (as opposed to a rig) could also be an idea, but then bad users could also create new accounts.
(BUT: if your rigs are connected to the account, you cannot run away from it without loosing your good ratings)

Another thought about the rating system: There is no real way to tell if x times a rating of 10 is good or not... the scale is too big from 1 to 10.
Also if everybody gives 10s for all the average rigs, that perform what they are supposed to, how can you see, which rigs really have helpful owners (rate the rig + rate the owner)?
I did like the 8 is good, 10 is excellent at first, but think that 8 should be the norm and 10 only if the rig/owner outperforms the service.
So maybe its time to reset the ratings and start with a 3 fold scale "less then expected ... exactly as described ... better than expected".

I also noticed really bad behavior by owners. Since the rating favors short term rentals all the better rigs are only available for 3h rents. that does not show good owner behavior. I would love to rate an owner. If he as a good rig, but sucks in communication/support.

But then... The rating is not really that important... its just an indicator. Like on ebay. Since the front page lists top rated rigs it has gotten too much attention in my opinion.

Just had another idea to try: switch of the ratings for a week and see what happens. Evaluate if they really help or not.
Just a "text" feedback instead of a number. Force renters to write something useful or nothing at all.
Many renters don't give feedback anyways.

I accidentally brought rig online for a sec and someone instal-rented it. any way to cancel it? I can't bring rig back online for a while (rig#2098)

did you open a support ticket?

did you contact the renter so he knows?
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BETARIGS.COM - Cryptocurrency cloud mining - 1000+ scrypt rigs online! on: February 28, 2014, 01:18:43 AM
I need help understanding something.

at current lower end rates of 0.015 btc/mhash/day.. renting rig out still yelds 1.5-2x more value than mining at most pools, including some of my favourite ones... I really don't get the economics of renting.. I mean, I'm loving it, but I don't get what makes it profitable to the renter?? I.e...  Ican't find a pool that would pay me more then I'd get for leasing my rig out.. even with altcoins and coin switching. etc.

so you are dumb!? it has been explained like 10 times on this thread...

imagine you cannot own a rig... then renting is the only option.
I know nobody (except noobs) that mine for "now"... mining and investing into mining means trusting a coin and its future...
of course there are some small gains made in a matter of hours or days, but the money is in "keeping" good coins until they ralley...

I bought most of my BTC at 10-20$, then some around 80$... and I didn't do that to sell them at 90 ;-)

btw. the "are you dumb" remark is sarcasm... if you take it personally, then I cannot help you ;-)

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Computer shutdown after running Cgminer for 40-60 minutes on: February 27, 2014, 12:48:21 PM
If he lives in an apartment, there are 2 or 3 different corks that control his power. If they get overloaded, they simply would not give enough power to PSU and PSU will shut down do prevent damage to MB.

I am curious, can you elaborate?

I think: either the fuse blows, or you will get your power. (or the cable will run hot) how can you not pul the amps?
It is not like a 200m cable through the garden.... so how do you want to increase the resistance, so that you canot pull your power?

well, but maybe I underestimate the low quality American wiring... 110V is just plain crap ;-)
are we talking about 110V outlets here and low quality installations?

no card should give HW errors, if it does your settings are wrong...

I like the 280x toxic, because 280 is a great architecture, and the toxic is the best 280x card (in my opinion).

it is a powerdrawer though if not properly undervolted!

If you have to decide between 280x toxic or 290 tri x and 290 cost just 50 dollars more, which you choose?

290... 50$ for 100 KH/s is a no brainer.

that depends on the base price! lets look at kH per Dollar

280x toxic gives me 760kH ->  760/$400=1.9, 760/$450=1.68, 760/$500=1.52

add 50 dollars
290 tri-x might give 900kH -> 900/$450=2, 900/$500=1.8, 900/$550=1.63

290 wins.
my opinions
it depends on the setup, I run many 290 cards, but the 280x is the best, so if it is a single/dual card setup, I might go for the toxic. cooler more efficient and less noisy.
the 280x toxic (might even go with the tri-x, is cheaper) is a great (maybe the best card), the 290 tri-x is almost reference with better cooling, but some people report problems...

LOL

can anybody explain, how drawing too much from a wall outlet will shut down the PC? I say it is impossible, unless the cicuit breaker/fuse blows...

Why didn't you try to set the fans at 80% for some time, just to check if it is temps....
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best Hash/Watt GPU Setup, Undervolting on: February 26, 2014, 06:53:44 PM
well, take of 10% PSU efficency, and keep in mind that mine are air cooled on board, so they run at 80-90°C that adds a lot of draw!
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Computer shutdown after running Cgminer for 40-60 minutes on: February 25, 2014, 11:31:02 PM
I did not check the previous posts, just your headline...

If you have a multi rail PSU and overload a rail, it may shutdown (like a fuse) your system.

that may happen after some time, when the systems (GPU) has heated up and draws more power...

20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best Hash/Watt GPU Setup, Undervolting on: February 25, 2014, 11:27:20 PM
toxic at 1.068 (driver)
280 dual-x 1.188 (had too many crashes with lower voltage) default

270 dual-x back to default (don't know 1.188?)
290s with original bios and undervolt in AB (1.109-1.117, 1.086, 1.086, 1.094)

those are all I can check right now...
