I'm just wondering does who has tdp at 80 for 24/7?  I been very careful not to damage the card for long term usage.  I keep it at under 75% tdp and temperature under 58c by the time it's night all the cards avg 45c.  So far I have 15 1080ti for more than 2 weeks and all of them work 24/7

this is like 2 days straight temperatures haven't reach 60c

Can you share your settings?

I have 2 1080ti's and never get under 70deg C.  70% TDP/73Temp Limit/+175 Core Clock/-500 Mem/75% Fan runs @ 175W on Skein.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Ambient Temperature on: June 25, 2017, 02:48:54 AM
Debating with myself about spreading rigs across family homes and mine or adding a wall in my garage to section it off and putting them in there.

Living in southeast Louisiana, its hot and humid during the summers........ambient temperature in my garage reaches 96 so far but I have zero ventilation in it.

Is 100 degree ambient too hot to run or as long as I push enough air to them cards, I should be ok?

7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fourth alt coin thread last three got oversized. on: June 22, 2017, 12:02:55 PM
I am limited by capacity(small) and power price (high).

The way I see it is if I run mine at 6mh/watt then 1000watts=6500MH.

If you run yours at 4.5mh/watt then 1000watts=4500MH.

Have I got it wrong??
In order for you to pull 1000 watts, you will need 33% (6/4.5) more equipment than he will so your initial upfront costs will be higher to buy the equipment.

The EVGA850 came with one Perif Cable which is 6 Pin to PSU x Molex with 3 molex on the cable.

Can I put 3 USB risers to that one cable or should I go buy 2 more 6 Pin x Molex cables for the other 2?

Mining Dgb-Skein
gigabyte aurus extreme
power limit 75
core clock +165 at 800mv using curve in afterburner
mem -350
fan on 65% only 53 Celsius

940MH/s  5.1 MH/W   181W
You have fucking good temperature and voltage usage

i set my card on 80% power limit and my statistic on miner,
GPU#0:ASUS GTX 1080 Ti, 952.79MH/s
GPU#0:ASUS GTX 1080 Ti, 4.3MH/W, 0.52MH/Mhz
GPU#0:ASUS GTX 1080 Ti, 67C(F:44%) 1850/4498MHz(218W)

Yeah he is whipping me as well.

GPU#2:GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, 911.19MH/s
GPU#2:GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, 4.9MH/W, 22MH/Mhz

four 1080 ti's  could be 300 watts each if they are aorus

so 1200 x .85 = 1020 watts    so if you have a 1000 watt psu it may not cut it

1200w/1300w to be safe

4 x Gigabyte Aorus
160core/100mem/PL=195@3000sols@870-900watts
MSI-Z270A-Pro, 4gb RAM, i3-7100, EVGA-G2-1600w
nvOC NVIDIA Linux
That's a beast of a PSU  Shocked Shocked

Was looking to change my setup to 4 1080ti's and was curious about what PSU is out there to do it with....guess I know now.

Newegg is showing it at around $360 out of stock, some others have it higher. Is this purely for density sake?  Wouldn't it be economically better to just make another rig for 2 cards and save on the PSU by using a 850W or so?

An update.

So i don't even know which one paid out but in my Electrum wallet- I received 0.0067 BTC - I've been trying so many things, that I don't even know which one paid out. lol

I will assume, this can't be tracked to which miner paid out? lol

I'm getting 600 Sol/s  on my Z-cash nemo's miner - =195 mhz clock and 400 mhz memory. -Any calculator to convert Sol into USD to understand the rates and compare?

whattomine.com/calculators

Thanks for the reply but is Sol same as Hash? since it only display speed i'm getting in Sol/s
No they are not, they are a different unit of measuring depending on what algo you are mining.  Equihash is SOL, others are Hashes.  Might have some that are measured in sols but off the top of my head.

I am running right now on Windows 7......Teamviewer'ed in during the day to keep an eye on my ONE rig lol from my work computer.

Sometimes I turn it off and periodically check zpool to make sure it is still active.

Now to my question those of you who have multiple rigs--how do you monitor/change settings on each one?  It is my assumption you do not change settings often on them once you pick a miner and pool?  You do not hook up a monitor to each one and keyboard when you need to do something?

Curious--planning the next stage of my mining and was wondering about this.

Thanks.

If it's a fresh install where did you put the driver?

I am guessing vyper got lucky and had a 2.0 on his board and plugging it into that one worked..
Tried all my usb ports and no go.. err checked ASUS all usb are 3.0...

The usb dvd is 2.0 and so is the stick...
What is the work around for the Asus z270 AR?
Go to Asus website and download the drivers and put it on the same USB drive you have the Windows ISO, should work.  Google ASUS clean install with no 3.0 usb support, I am sure it will come up.

Can anyone help with a quick OS problem?
I've never seen this in my dozens of time trying to install a Windows OS, especially Win 7..

I made a bootable thumb drive from a an ISO that a reputable Key seller on ebay provided (one Phil recommednded) as I can't find my disk and I go to install and I get to s screen that says select a driver, typically where you select x86 or x64 and it says no device driver found? I tried mounting the iso a few more times and reformating the thumb, nothing..

Phil was kind enough to send me a Win 7 CD, I buy an external CD drive and I get the same error..
I even plug in another SSD that doesn't have an OS (other SSD had Server 2012 on it), and that doesn't work..
Can anyone help me as I have never seen this issue before..

Funny thing was.. when I was on Server 2012, that system booted up, I was only reformating it as I couldn't get the LAN drivers to work and needed internet..

had that issue with my MB when did a clean install (Gigabyte GA270P-D3) when trying to to install Windows 7 Ultimate x64 bit.....the ISO does not support USB 3.0 so it wouldn't be able to read somehow the USB correctly.

Had to go to Gigabyte's website and download a driver to install on the USB stick that let it run the install correctly.

Good luck!

Finally have my "Phil Rig" up and running

2 MSI 1080ti's FE
1 MSI 1070

1742 Sol @ 516 watts @ the kill-a-meter. 1080ti's @ 66C about 650 Sol @ 176W.  1070 is 51C, 405 Sol @ 105W.  Looks about right?

Had troubles loading EBWF on the settings I had for the 1 1080ti, if I lowered the core clock to +100 it booted up, I've inched it up to +175 and I think I will leave it right there to see if it lasts overnight and it doesn't crash.

I mine in my garage (see the server rack in photo below) and have absolutely no issues with heat at all.
mind you.. I live on the side of a mountain in Colorado at 8000ft  Grin Grin Grin

cheers,

That is a setup!  Nice looking garage.

My wife and kids would kick my behind if I told them I am taking over the garage and kicking their toys out---I must be doing something wrong haha.

Sorry to bug with some more questions, did a search and couldn't find it----

I am holding steady @ 660-670 SOL/s.

Nicehash is showing a super wide range from 450s-770s and never consistent.  Is this typical?  Does it average out over the day?
figures at the top/front  of your nicehash page are indeed never consistent.

look for Projected daily income at bottom right for most recent hourly average (hover over i )
Ok, will keep an eye on that to see how it works out.

Thanks!

How are people able to get more electricity than what the state allows? I am in Florida and was informed I can only get 200 Amp to the house .

you can get 200 amp to your garage , they cant stop that

200 amps is already huuuge ...

the key thing is get those amps compatible with 220-240v instead of US default 110v

My question would be why would you want 200 amps of miners in your home garage in Florida!?!? I'm in Florida as well and unless you have some sort of complex airflow or hvac setup, there's no way you're going to want to put that many miners in your home garage. I can't even imagine what living with the noise of that would be like either. If you're going to big you should rent out a small warehouse/garage where the power will likely be available and you'll have better airflow solutions. The cost of renting a place out would be negligible if you're running with some of the new ASICS out there that are extremely profitable.

In florida you can use a cheap swamp cooler setup that uses water to cool the garage, 240v can be wired for single phase for 200 amp quite easily , 200 amp or 160amp of rigs wont be that loud if you use normal quiet PSU's and if its detached whats the big deal with noise

Awesome thread---my question to the FL miners are the ideas of hurricanes....my house did not flood in Katrina but the power loss that is possible and evacuations, etc....wouldn't it have been cheaper to rent space in a datacenter?  I am hoping to do my scaling up that way.
