1  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Looking for intern - Tradenostix - Crypto Portfolio Reporting on: May 22, 2018, 03:45:38 PM
I'd reach out to local colleges. A lot of them have internal blockchain clubs now Smiley

We are doing this as well - thank you!

Hello,

We are looking for an intern to assist us with further development. Please read the below posting, and if this is of interest to you, then please send your resume and cover letter to support@tradenostix.com.

Thanks!

Who are we?
Tradenostix is a growing company that provides a professional solution for cryptocurrency traders to track their trades and analyze their portfolio. We are the first company in the space to target the institutional sector. A large obstacle in the way of mainstream adoption for cryptocurrencies is that institutional clients (hedge funds, prime brokerages, fund admins, etc) do not feel comfortable investing without the proper infrastructure. Providing a professional reporting portal and trade capture solution creates operational ease to the daily workflow for these institutional clients looking to dive in to the crypto space. We have a bunch of B2B interest and need to increase the speed at which we develop.

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a technical intern to join our team and personally assist our CTO in the continued build-out of our platform. The candidate will get hands on experience deploying code to production environments, gain a better understanding of financial technology, learn about the needs of institutional clients vs retail clients, and much more. The candidate will also be the first person to work with us who is not part of the co-founding team, so there is a huge opportunity for growth here.

Requirements:
Must be comfortable working with Python and Unix environments
Candidate must have an understanding of cryptocurrencies
Motivated individual who is not afraid to think outside of the box and ask questions

Nice-to-haves:
Familiarity with Flask/Django
Familiarity with RESTful API’s
Familiarity with modern cloud infrastructure (EC2, Linode, Digital Ocean, etc..)
Enthusiastic about the startup space
Able to travel to our office in northern NJ periodically (around once every 2 weeks)

If you feel you are a fit, please send your resume and a cover letter to: support@tradenostix.com.

Compensation:
While this is an unpaid internship, it is unique in the sense that the candidate will be the first person to work with us who is not part of the co-founding team. If the candidate performs at a high level and has good synergy with the team, then this can very well turn in to a full-time position. We are happy to work with your school to get you course credit if applicable.

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Tradenostix - Portfolio Management Software *currently in beta* on: January 10, 2018, 06:07:51 PM
Do you have an option to select exchange price for individual currencies? For example, if I want to see the Cryptopia price for one coin, ED for another and Binance for third, instead of coin average price?

Hello,

As of now we do not have this functionality. It is something that we have thought about and intend to add in the future.

Just to confirm, setting your pricing source is primarily for viewing your current data, such as our overview. For historical reporting of prices, we do use an average.

What are your main advantages from other portfolio managers ?

Hi there,

We have a few advantages from a product and mindset standpoint:
1. Sophisticated Reporting - We're the only platform we see with robust reporting. Each of our reports have parameters you can set, AND can be queried by date range. For example, you can run a realized gain/loss report for a specified time, or you can run a holdings report to query your historical balance as of a specific day. Our reports provide enough information for you to analyze many different aspects of your portfolio such as fees paid, total cost including fees, how much you have put in to a coin life-time, and more to learn about your past performance and decision making.

2. Automated Overview - Unlike some other platforms, our overview is automated. Given that you integrated with your exchanges, as you trade, those trades will be reflected automatically in the overview, as well as throughout the application.

2. How we handle hardforks - We have a growing database keeping track of when different coins hardforked, and when different exchanges delivered those hardforked coins to you. Once you integrate your data and press 'scan now' for hardforks, we automatically deploy 'deposits' on your behalf. If you disagree with it, you can always manually edit, delete or add any transactions. Other platforms do not do this. For example, if you integrate with most other platforms, you would not see a BitcoinCash holding, because on the technical side, when we pull your data, there is no explicit transaction, such as a 'deposit' for hardforks, so no system would know that you even have that holding.

3. Cost Basis - We strongly encourage users to enter some initial cost basis for more accuracy to your portfolio. For example, we may see a deposit of 1 BTC on Bittrex, but we do not necessarily know what you paid in USD for that original Bitcoin. We have a button to 'set all cost basis to 0' which would let you skip this step, and you can go back to it, but as far as we see, we are the only platform that really encourages users to tidy up their portfolio when onboarding. Of course, we automatically track cost basis for buys and sells, this is just for initial deposits.

Our goal is that once you complete on-boarding, you are good to go and can begin digging in to your data.

4. Staying current, not only from a crypto perspective, but a legal/financial perspective - We initially built this with the institutional client in mind, as we are speaking with hedge funds, prime brokers, fund administrators, etc, but then we figured, why not also release a standard retail product that is equally as robust. From speaking with funds or fund admins regularly and being in that world, we are always in the loop for any changes from a financial perspective (i.e. an obvious one is that in the US, about 2-3 weeks ago, the IRS finally put out an official letter on how to handle realized gains/losses for taxes), and any other changes that may happen in the future.

Hope this was helpful.

Cheers!

Looks very good ! How much will your product when you have it finalized ? I have seen similar services but they are not doing very good ...Hope you will succeed ,I will follow the project !

Thank you! We will have a basic and pro package. We have not come to a hard conclusion on price for our pro package yet, we are still gathering data from our users and listening to feedback. The basic package, which gives users access to our overview and holdings report, with the ability for automated integration (and manually editing, deleting, adding transactions and offline holdings), is planning to go for $5/mo.

Looks good indeed but would be interested to know how do you secure API keys.
Even though read only, trades can be initiated which could be really annoying in case of a breach.
For most of us this is a critical point when using a third part software to manage live portfolios.

Definitely understand your concerns, security of our users' data is paramount.

Using read-only keys is the best protection you have whenever giving third-parties access to your exchange accounts. Read-only keys will not initiate trades or move funds.

That said, we have established proprietary measures for protecting all user data in addition to following all industry best-practices.

Hello,

So I just created an account and even for a beta I'm quite impressed.

I'm currently using mostly Binance but I'm also using Bittrex and Poloniex, but i'd prefer if my whole folio can be displayed at the same place.

I think you should continue to focus on adding new supported exchanges.

Perfect - please let us know how you like the platform as you use it more.

As for Binance, that is definitely high priority on our list to integrate with, much appreciated.

Hi there,

Thank you for the kind words!

1. Are you currently signed up for our beta?
2. Which exchange(s) do you currently use? We are aggregating a list from our users to prioritize our roadmap regarding exchange integrations. (Currently, we offer Bittrex, Poloniex, and GDAX).

Any other suggestions you have, please do not hesitate to let us know.

Cheers!

- Mike
