1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Adnetcoin - Launched - Equihash - GPU Mining on: February 26, 2018, 12:38:38 PM
If I understand correctly a block is coined every 2 minutes with a reward of 100 ADNET each, a total of 3000 ADNET are coined per hour.

Network hashing power has been around 30 Ksol for at least the last couple of hours. As an experiment I put 6 Ksol hashing power for 2 hours and obtained only 300 ADNET in rewards. If my math is correct, I should have obtained around 1200 ADNET. I got the number by this math:
2 hours x 3000 ADNET/hour = 6000 ADNET x 20% of network hashing power = 1200 ADNET

I tried both active pools (https://newcoinpools.com/ and https://minergategpu.org/) and both were performing more or less the same.

What is wrong with this network?

My setup:

8 x Nitro+ Vega 56 + Cast XMR

AMD Blockchaindriver Global WattMan:

GPU Freq.: -30
Memory Freq.: 930
Temp: Max-75
Power Limit: -22
Speed(RPM): Max-Max

Windows 10 Virtual Memory Paging: 60000

Disable & enable every gpu card after every reboot before to start mining.

@Result:

I couldn't manage to make Windows recognize more than 3 cards using Asus Z270-A. What motherboard are you using?
Thanks.

just wondering when will the SONM Supercomputer will be launch? is the project will be done in this year?

Here is the original roadmap: https://blog.sonm.io/sonms-technical-roadmap-954b4718a89d

Is there calculations how big the cloud computing market is right now and estimations on the future, what its actually being/going to be used etc. Thanks!

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: January 05, 2018, 01:07:04 PM
Hello everyone,

I'm a long term holder and lurker on this thread.

I also got involved when Risto first mentioned it as a good investment. It looked like it was my chance after missing out on BTC.

Thanks to the people in this thread I've been holding all the way until last summer when a life circumstance meant I had to sell a single digit %.

It felt strange to sell but I have to remind myself to follow the simple saving plan also set out by Risto, to sell a % as it increases.

Like I said my hand was forced last summer but now I'm getting close to where I really should divest in case of some black swan event and I'm left with nothing.

Anyone else have mixed feelings about selling after holding for a long time.

I'm about there with you, all in Monero for several years. But people who talk about a lot and I think shit I have 3.5 times that I really have no exit strategy exactly. I think that's the worry.

I'm the same. I bought in at .43c and have held ever since. I think a big part of the problem is greed - whatever price it is is never enough. I always want more - how crazy is that? The fact is - and my wife and I were talking about just this last night - I could sell everything now and live very comfortably for the rest of my life. I'd never be able to buy a penthouse apartment in NYC, but so what? But I'm scared that I would't be able to forgive myself if the price went crazy. I wonder if those people who sold BTC at $400 regretted doing so even though they were comfortably off?

But the other side of the coin is that I'm not sure I want to deal with the swings in price, the trolls and the competition from the shit coins anymore. It's wearying, it's mood-altering, and I'm beginning to wonder if it's worth it.

I'm getting on - how much money do I need? Do any of us need?

I recall this thread reading today's news at NYT about Dow reaching 25000:
"but someone once asked Bernard Baruch how he became so rich,” Mr. Dodson said. “‘I made my money by selling too soon,’” the famed financier replied."

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Cast XMR] high speed XMR/CryptoNight miner for RX Vega GPUs (2 KHash/s) on: December 26, 2017, 12:17:33 AM
Could someone post their exact .bat info please. I'm having hell with this miner. It will not connect to ANY pool, and I thought the .bat was correct.

cast_xmr-vega -S pool.supportxmr.com:5555 -u yourwallet -p x --nonicehash -G 0,1,2,3,4

--nonicehash is optional, -G will depend on the amount of cards you have. In my case, I have 5 cards.

My rigs would run fine for hours and then out of the blue Cast XMR hangs. I have JJs monitoring script running and because the values can be read from JSON it doesn't pick it up as a hang. Essentially the timestamp remains stagnant, bolded below, with no additional increments. Only solution is to force the Cast window closed and let the monitoring script restart the Cast cmd shell instance.

[16:36:35] GPU0 | 51°C | Fan 3245 RPM | 1913.2 H/s

I know I can modify the hash monitor script to do a check on the timestamp.

Anyone else seen this type of issue?

I have 2 rigs with the following config:
4GB Corsair RAM
ASUS Z270-a mobo
3 x Vega 56 stock bios, memclock at 920mhz for all
Yes, it happens to me too. For what I read, Asus Z270-a is not the best mobo to run Vegas. I'm changing it tomorrow. Will let you know if it get more stable.
