1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Network Attack on XVG / VERGE on: May 22, 2018, 08:14:24 AM
Since nothing really was done about the previous attacks (only a band-aid), the attackers now simply use two algos to fork the chain for their own use and are gaining millions:

Both algos, scrypt and lyra2re can be rented easily for a few bucks at nicehash, they simply send one block scrypt, after that a block lyra2re and so on and all with manipulated timestamps thus lowering diff to lowest possible mining several blocks per minute like this

Wow Nice!

very good rig list
btw you do not need 8gb
4gb will do
anyway use one molex cable for two gpu
and your rig will be fine

Thanks man. well i already ordered the 8gb RAM since the one's that i was watching in youtube always uses 8gb ram.
What you mean use 1 molex cable for 2 gpu? isn't it better to use 1 pcie cable per gpu to better spread load and also not to overheat cables? can you please explain on this?

if you have enough pcie cables  use the pcie cables  to power  the risers.

12x  1070's

is 12 x 100 watts = 1200 watts   at a low tdp clock  in smos  set watts to 100

12 x 120 watts =1440 watts      at a medium tdp clock in smos set watts to 120

12 x 150 watts = 1800 watts at a high tdp clock in smos set watts to 150

you need 12 + 6 = 18 pcie cables to make it work

I suggest using 100 watt setting at first

and ending up in the 115 to 125   setting at max

once you go above the 125 watt setting  1070's tend to waste the power

This is great! thanks for the input, i'll definitely try it out. Anyway, i'm thinking if i should use SMOS or use just stay with NiceHash. Since the 8 limit GPU on windows has already been increased by the creators update then i might as well try that and do the OC and Undervolting using the Nvidia Inspector if MSI afterburn or others will not support 12GPU OC

They probably mean 2 molex on 1 strand for 2 risers.

i see. all my risers are sata powered and yes, i've been planing to use 2 on 1 strand. Thanks for clearing that up!

ey bro, i can't really understand what you want to do but if you're adding a 2nd cpu make sure to use a Dual PSU connector. look up on youtube how it's used. don't be trying fancy shit and burning down your hardware. just do it like how more experienced people are doing it. GL
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / 12 GPU Mining Rig build | Need your Advice! on: December 26, 2017, 07:53:01 AM
Hi Guys, i need your input on my Rig. my rig will consist of the following:

SMOS

CPU PENTIUM G4400

Motherboard ASROCK H110 Pro BTC+

RAM GSKILL 8gb DDR4

PSU 2x 2000w 95+ gold (i tried buying 2x 1650w but there are no stocks in my area!)

Dual PSU link

Ver. 7 Sata powered Risers

128Gb M.2 SSD

12x Gigabyte GTX1070 all single 8-pin

10x Fans in the Rack

I also bought WattMeter/Killwatt

Is my 2 PSU enough to power those 12 GPU? i guess i need to pay attention into daisy chaining them.

i intend to power 2 risers per VGA cable, is that okay?

Thanks in advance and looking forward.

You are go for any ASIC miner like antminer l3+ or S9. These will be give the better profit than you are finding in the GPU rig you are making now. Please let me know that you gonna make how many number of hardware in your farm. I think with the 4k USD you can find the 2 hardwares in ordering it on bitmain site.
But other resellers in Ebay or other sites you will get the miner but the rate will be more than expected you find in the bitmain site. That is major probleim. Since already involved in mining you may know reseller so check with them for antminer s9 hardware to make more money.

Thanks for the input bro. i checked the nicehash Profit calculator and saw antminer is about 10$ behind baikal in terms of Profit/day. not to mention, Baikal will be adding 2 Algos for a much better profit potential in the future. Would you still go with Antminer instead of Baikal?

Hi guys, i hope to get advice and suggestions about the Nicehash Mining Rig that i want to build.

I'm currently mining with my gaming rig, i have a 1070 and i think it's time to step up.
This build is solely for Nicehash mining and i dont have any immediate plans on mining different coins. With this said, i was looking at the top 5 most profitable in nicehash and saw that Baikal Giant X10 Asic and AMD RX vega 64 is currently leading the pack.

For a much cheaper investment, the Baikal would gain much more per day profit if i spend the same amount buying AMD or NVidia graphics card.
I would like to know your thoughts on which path would be more beneficial for me to take long term. i'm doing this as a hobby and an extra cash flow source. but if it all goes well and it's still profitable, then i might gradually expand. but before that i'd like to start good with my hard earned money and hopefully you can help me with this.

thanks bros and looking forward to your suggestions.

You said you want to mine XBT (which is BTC) only, but Nicehash mines different coins.
The Baikal miner is made for DASH mining, not BTC, it cannot mine SHA-256. Also, all GPUs are obsolete for mining.
Nicehash does not mine BTC, but it mines altcoins and then converts them.

For Bitcoin mining, the best option is the Antminer S9.
For altcoin mining, including using Nicehash, post in this section: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=160.0

ah yes, sorry about that. i understand now that Nicehash pays me in Bitcoin, not that i'm actually mining Bitcoin in Nicehash.

Thanks!
