Has anyone setup multi algo switching on MPH?

Looking at setting it up to mine the most profitable Equihash coin.

Been using it with DSTM 5.8 for 2 weeks and I haven’t had even one restart on 5 rigs of 46 cards total, I’ve been choosing to get paid in ZCL for the fork, will go to ZEN after, if you choose that option, it converts the 4 different equihash coins into a coin of your choosing, can be BTC or any coin they have.

Not sure if y’all are new to mining but undervolting is not considered crippling the card in mining when you have power usuage to consider. Also, are you sure 300 watts on each 1080ti is accurate, nor, ally it’s like, 180 to 200 watts.
Finally, I’ve never seen a build where a card with 2 connectors on top weren’t run off a single pcie using a splitter from pcie to two 6+2 plug, that’s how all 46 of my 1070ti are wired, of course I’m not running at 300watts a card.

In the reddit post about octomimer mobo, they guy from company posted a link to the 1080ti models they were testing 8 of and he was supposed to temperature results. I know he said since the board uses mobile cpu and ram, it only draw like 40 watts so almost all your 2200 watts is available for cards. Hope that helps

I have Zotac Amp Extreme 1070ti’s in all my rigs, I usually stick to ZClassic, Zen or Zcash...equihash, what is best OC?

I had always read  +200core  +700mem was sweet spot but my sols were kinda low so I e been running past month +175 core +800mem at 115 watts originally and now 120 wats and thinking of going up on power and drop mem to +750 or +775.

Also, they will run a week or 10 days nonstop, and then one of the rigs with get a gpu is stuck, trying to restart. Is that a crash related issue or a connection issue?

I am running 4 rigs off a 240v Delta server psu and using a little Pico amp to power motherboard and two Molex connectors and SATA the Asrock 110 pro BTC requires. I’ve had a feeling these cheap little pico amps have a little bit of occasional voltage variation and is the reason I will have occasional failure maybe once a week. Was considering buying a second small ATX psu just to replace pico amp. About how many watts just for mobo and it’s 5 required plugs, ATX, cpu, 2 moles, and a SATA?

Now that my rig stability problems are fixed... I have another type of problem with my network.

Basically, it appears as though my mining rig sometimes kills my router completely.

First time last week and back then I really thought the router was the problem:
My internet was down on my wifi.
So I went to check on my PC. No internet either.
I try to connect to my router (tp-link N750) and it can't be reached.
I rebooted the router. No change.
I reset the router. No change.
I connect a laptop straight to the modem: internet is up.

So I figured that the router was faulty and I went to the store to buy a new one: tp-link Archer C7.

Now I don't remember if I had turned off my rig before installing the new one... The new one worked... for a week.

Last night I got the same problems: no internet and can't even connect to the router.
But instead of trying to reboot and reset the router, I just turned off my mining rig. And voilà, everything was working again, I did not even need to restart the router.
Today I got the same problem again.  I turned off my rig and 1 minute later my network was up again.

The rig was stuck at the "Connecting to simplemining..." stage when I turned it off.

On my router admin pages I can't see any errors in the logs.

Important note: I have a switch between the router and the mining rig.  It's a basic dlink DGS-1005G.
I will try removing that switch from the setup and plug my rig directly in the routeur to see if it helps.

Any clues other then that?

Some discussions about similar issues I found:

https://www.reddit.com/r/ethOSdistro/comments/7k49ti/ethos_and_my_network_issues/

So I have 5 rigs running with 45 1070ti total and I get exact same. It seems One will get knocked offline and then soon all of them are offline trying to connect to server even though I have perfect internet available as I monitor it on my iPad. I turn off the one that had a card stopped on past and all of the other 4 rigs instantly reconnect and go on with no downtime. I tried setting each rig up under a different miner name but no difference when it happens. Also, it has run 4 days stable no problems, suddenly like 5 crashes earlier and then stable again, I just start turning off miners till I find culprit and the rest reconnect and restart the ones I turned off. I tried using the new file of Smos for NVidia cards on a new usb, but so far seems to be real buggy, I have to unplug and Re plug my usb on startup because it says usb bad. About to reflash a drive with older file to see if it fixes that.

Vosk Coin did a livestream yesterday with a miningcave rig that came with smos already loaded and had issue with new file also so had to flash another drive with older smos file too.

One strange thing, when I lost connection earlier, I went to google overclocking setting and google made me check one of the your not a robot boxes before I could continue because it said I had unusual traffic from my connection. Earlier today I also had to change the port on my Xbox when I tested multiplayer connections after I couldn’t stay connected for a game on battlefield 1.

Sorry for rant but maybe that adds more clues, maybe traffic issue, maybe a port issue?

So I bought 42 zotac 1070ti amp 3 Extreme and almost finished  installing all card on 4 different rigs, six gpu left to install.  I’m using the Asrock 110 pro BTC, and I have one miner that has a card, gpu8, that after an hour or up to 8 hrs will says gpu msg buffer full or something and it closes connection and knocks all 4 machines offline and won’t restart until I go and manually power cycle each one. How do identify what gpu Is which, I can see the offending gpu 8 is using pci 10, but there is no physical pcie slot #10.

Also, what is a good OC for the zotac 1070ti, I’ve been using +200 core +700 mem 120 watt and doing mostly zcash and zen cash, getting like 4.10 sol/w

Any help is appreciated

Youtube my friend.
https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=how+to+mine+zcash+

Chose what currency you want to mine:
https://whattomine.com

DSTM is for Equihash based algorithms.

Find a pool.

You're going to need a wallet for payouts on whatever pool you decide to use.

Ty for response, but 10 videos into your shared YouTube videos show me mining with every program other than the one I’m asking about and whose thread I’m posting on. I believe I was actually mining for an hour after editing start file with my zec wallet from zcash4win, but I never changed default pool, is that correct? It showed all 6 GPUs and temperature and sols over and over, I assum this is the mining?

One issue, after an hour I had an error where windows said it blocked that app from accessing graphics hardware so I rebooted and refreshed a few times but doesn’t work anymore, any ideas?

I couldn’t find quick answer so tried to run via Smos which I already have ready on usb, but for some reason after I installed that last few gpu cards, I get no signal during boot till it loads windows, so I can’t adjust bios to boot from usb. I’m using hdmi cable from one of my 1070ti and even with dvi adapter enabled onboard gpu, but no dice. Just on case I was going to buy a dvi to vga adapter and see if using my monitor on pc mode with vga in fixes.

So finally I decided to not waste mining time, I would download ewbf, but google chrome calls it a virus and I can’t get windows to override.

FML, can I get a break already. I am a noob but very computer literate so just need some advice to point me in right direction.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] dstm's ZCash / Equihash Nvidia Miner v0.5.6 (Linux / Windows) on: December 06, 2017, 06:06:02 PM
I just built my first rig this 3 days ago, 6 gpu 1070ti and to get easiest start, I went with NiceHash on Windows 10. Since apparently something has  happened, I was looking alternatives and many people saying Dtsm is maybe most profitable miner.

So I spent almost an hour reading hundreds of responses but can’t find the most basic and simple info, how do I set this up!?

I downloaded zip file, extracted it, and figured out you can run by clicking start file. It appears if I edit start file, the user is maybe a zcash wallet I need to edit? Can I use a Jaxx wallet, should I go straight to zcash and get their wallet?  Do I need to change pool? Which pool do I use if so, I have no idea where to look.

Am I trying to do this correct by running straight in windows or should I have another program that I should launch this under? Please help, can’t believe I can’t find such basic info anywhere. Thanks for responses
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 2400 watt Server PSU on Asrock H110 PRO BTC - NEED HELP on: December 04, 2017, 10:19:56 PM
Any ideas? I just loaded each cards individually to make sure every card is working separately and it is, so it basicallly all the cards and risers are good, it’s just the pcie connector on Mobo error msg when I try more than 2 cards

HELP
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 2400 watt Server PSU on Asrock H110 PRO BTC - NEED HELP on: December 04, 2017, 08:07:26 PM
Using parallel miner pcie powered risers wired directly to server psu, 1 wire per riser.  Video cards also have a single wire from from server to 6 to dual 8pin adapter since zotac 1070ti extreme use two 8 pins on top.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / 2400 watt Server PSU on Asrock H110 PRO BTC - NEED HELP on: December 04, 2017, 07:23:01 PM
I purchased a delta 2400watt psu to completely power my current 6 gpu rig so I can expand in future. I am using Asrock H110 PRO BTC motherboard and bought parallel miner 180watt ATX adapter for 24pin and cpu power connections.

I assume my issue should be the same for anyone that build a gpu rig with the H110 BTC using only a single server psu for everything.

So after trying to initially run smos from USB and failing, later finding out it was due to some bad cables, I bought a 120gb ssd and installed Windows 10. I finally have everything running and updated with 2 gpu cards (1070ti). The issue is when I try to add the 3rd gpu (adding one at a time), I get immediate message “you must install 4pin PCIe power”, and can’t proceed.

The board requires 3 additional power plugs on boards to be powered, 2 PCIe (4 pin Molex)  and 1 SATA power. The 180wattt ATX adapter I purchased from parallel miner comes with a peripheral wire that has a Molex and 2 SATA power, of which I’m using one SATA for SSD and other for power connector on board and not using Molex.

To power PCIe Power connector on Mobo, I’m using two PCIe to Molex connectors straight from breakout board. The only issue I can think of, those PCIe to Molex only include 2 wires and the pinout in users manual label that 4 pin connector having a detect wire which is the red 5v wire, 2 grounds in middle, and 12v, I only have one ground and the 12v.

This is 180w adapter
https://www.parallelminer.com/product/180watt-max-24pin-atx-power-module-included-sata-molex-cpu-power-connectors-ditch-your-atx-power-supply-entirely/

So my main questions is do I need just 12v at the PCIe power 4 pin Molex on Mobo and the issue is with something else or is it not detecting power connected to piwithout the 5v wire?  If that isn’t the problem, what could it be?

If I get a Molex wire splitter and use the wire from adapter, that gives me all 4 connections needed, but that very small adapter wire is then powering 4 things,  the SSD and all 3 Mobo plugs, is that too much draw?

If the missing 5v wire is the issue, can I leave the existing 12v PCIe power in place straight from breakout board and just add the 5v wire to that Molex plug using the ATX adapter red 5v wire? If

This is my first rig and it’s been a nightmare so far, but I’m in the home stretch, any help is desperately needed.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Need HELP with New rig build using h110 pro btc running SMOS on: December 03, 2017, 06:34:26 PM
Ty both for response, after using another hdmi and another tv, I was able to get a boot using a windows install usb but once I get past 2 cards it shows a message when I turn on “plug 4pin power to Mobo” which is the two Molex connectors that give extra powr to PCI-E and both are definitely plugged in and powered directly from psu.

I think this may be a driver issue but the only way I can proceed using windows route is to install it, but my SATA plugs aren’t recognizing either a 120gb ssd drive or a cd/dvd player, it’s like my 4 SATA plugs are dead. I can install a M.2 ssd and get it recognized on board, but it’s 16gb and not big enough to install windows so that doesn’t help. I was thinking of installing windows, then updating all the drivers, then I can boot from smos usb after everything is working, but can get SATA to recognize. I tried different SATA cables and made sure it’s activated in bios, any ideas what I can do?

I can flash another bios to a usb and install through bios, should I try that? Should I try smos again on usb with just 2 cards to get it loaded?
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Need HELP with New rig build using h110 pro btc running SMOS on: December 03, 2017, 11:12:54 AM
Longtime lurker and finally made account cause I’m desperate for help. I just finished assembling a 6 gpu rig and can’t get it to start. A quick list of parts

H110 pro btc MoBo
8g(4g x 2) dimm
i3 cpu
6 - 1070 ti zotac amp extreme
2400w server psu from parallel miner

So I have built computers before and pretty confident everything on hardware side was installed correct. When I turned on, I don’t get anything on screen. For simplicity I flashed SMos on a usb and it looks like it’s booting but nothing on screen. After trying everything, if I unplug all the gpu cards, it boots off usb, but gives like 3 screens of text and then stops. When I plug gpu back in, the monitor I’m using says signal not supported, I’m using onboard dvi, to div to hdmi converter to hdmi in on monitor. Also have tried plugging into gpu hdmi or dvi and with no signal or signal not supported.

When I have all gpu off and plug video to onboard and begins the smos boot up, I don’t see any options to enter bios. Can I take a new MoBo with not update graphics files and run the SMOs from start? I didn’t extract the SMos zip file before flashing  to usb because it didn’t say to in directions, should I have extracted it first?

How do I get into bios? Does a MoBo without any hard drives or memory sticks still be able to boot into bios? I’ve been at it for hours and last thing I can think of is trying with a windows boot usb and see how that works, if not, will see if I get a dvi to vga cable and see if  the message “not supported mode” I get from monitor with gpu installed is the issue.

Bottom line, if I put everything together correctly, should I be able to have a smos usb as the only thing I do on software side and have it work or do I need to install some drivers first? I guess if smos cant fully run, then the gpu don’t have drivers and that why they don’t work? Any help is appreciated.
