1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bminer: a fast Equihash miner for CUDA GPUs on: December 20, 2017, 04:20:06 PM
Oh, so they shifted the power limit for it... That makes mentioning the setting in percentage misleading. That being said, the card will throttle down hard if pushed above 180W anyway.

In either case I was originally wondering about being able to reach >500 sol/s at 3.4 sol/J; now that I know it's not a sustained figure it doesn't matter. I was thinking perhaps your card was really well-manufactured or you won the silicon lottery big time with it, but ~510 sol/s at 162W is something achievable on mine as well (~508 at 158 here).

1070's max power isn't 250W, not sure where you got that from. It's 150W. Thus 65% would make it run at 98W. Yours runs at 161. You'd never be able to run it at above 180W, let alone 250.

250W is 1080Ti's max power.

Ah, that explains it: your power limit isn't actually in effect, which is demonstrated by the card consuming up to 161W, or 107% (not 65%), performing at 3.15 sol/J. Those are expected values for a well-made 1070. I thought the 503 sol/s at 147W was a sustained figure, which it doesn't appear to be. Got my hopes up for a second there. :D

"only" for all 5x 1070 together

with the 2% fee, EWBF is still more profitable for me
You might need to check your math. In order for a 2% fee to be a net loss compared to 100 less sol/s your setup must output over 4900 sol/s, which is outright impossible even if you have five 1080 Tis.

More realistically, I'd expect each of your five 1070s to work at around 480 sol/s. That's 5×480=2400 sol/s, or 2400+100=2500 sol/s with bminer. Deducting 2% dev fee, that's 2500×0.98=2450, which is 50 sol/s more than EWBF.

Can confirm that Slushpool works now. On my GTX 1070 with 8960 MHz mem clock, 105% power limit, and CPU polling disabled in the miner, I'm getting about 508.5 sol/s (3.22 sol/J), or ~6 sol/s more than on the DSTM miner on average. (Note that this setup is optimized for maximum profit rather than maximum power efficiency because power is very cheap here.) I also enjoy the fact that it keeps desktop applications sufficiently responsive by default without dropping too much performance (I see a ~4% drop when e.g. watching a YouTube video, which is perfectly acceptable) and without having to manually tune intensity settings. Good job there!

Although by a small margin, this is, indeed, the fastest miner around. At least until DSTM turns off the dev fee. :p

Could any 1080 Ti owners test this miner on their highest stable clocks (without voltmod) and report the sol/s values they're getting? I'm interested in investment opportunities. If my estimates are correct, it should be possible to push some 810..825 sol/s with this miner.

Awesome update. On 3.0 I'm getting 1080-1090 Sol/s with a GTX 1080 and 1070 @ ~300 W! The high CPU usage is now gone with ~30% usage on a G1840.
Is this with CPU polling off? What are your 1070 clocks? I don't think I've ever managed to go above 500 at 98% power limit (which I assume is your setting).

Can't believe how many ungrateful persons are there. Man made a free miner (with a fee, but it's free) and you are complaining like he owns you something.
The word is "owes". Having a built-in, non-negotiable fee literally means it's not free to use; I'm not sure why this isn't clear to you. If we are essentially paying to use the product by forfeiting a part of our proceedings to the developer, we have the right to know what we are getting. This is a business venture for its developer, and the this forum is a market they set out to conquer, so market rules apply.

Would really love to hear something from the author on topic of Slushpool problems and the high CPU usage. Their explanation regarding performance smells like bullshit, considering the fact that for people who intend to use this piece of software profitability trumps performance any day. Bminer doesn't even break even with dstm's when it comes to full system sol/J ratio.

So many equihash miners are coming lately..... with similar speeds ..... Wondering... are they all based on something similar in the back.
On CUDA?

Hi. I'm interested in Bminer but I'm receiving errors when connecting to Slushpool (my preferred Zcash pool).

1. If I'm connecting via VPN:

In either case it continues like this indefinitely, seemingly without getting any real work done. EWBF and dstm miners have been working fine both with and without VPN. I'm using a GTX 1070 on Windows 10. Please advise.
